وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الۡبُرُوۡجِۙ
— Transliteration
Wassama-i thatialburooj
وَالسَّمَآءِ
wal-samāi
By the sky
قسم ہے آسمان کی
ذَاتِ
dhāti
containing
والا ہے
الۡبُرُوۡجِۙ
l-burūji
the constellations
جو برجوں (والا ہے)
Urdu —
برجوں (یعنی کہکشاؤں) والے آسمان کی قَسمo
— English
By the sky containing great stars
وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡمَوۡعُوۡدِۙ
— Transliteration
Walyawmi almawAAood
وَالۡيَوۡمِ
wal-yawmi
And the Day
اور قسم ہے دن کی
الۡمَوۡعُوۡدِۙ
l-mawʿūdi
Promised
وعدہ کئے گئے
Urdu —
اور اس دن کی قَسم جس کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہےo
— English
And [by] the promised Day
وَشَاهِدٍ وَّمَشۡهُوۡدٍؕ
— Transliteration
Washahidin wamashhood
وَشَاهِدٍ
washāhidin
And (the) witness
اور حاضر ہونے والی
وَّمَشۡهُوۡدٍؕ
wamashhūdin
and what is witnessed
اور حاضر کیے ہوئے کی
Urdu —
جو (اس دن) حاضر ہوگا اس کی قَسم اور جو کچھ حاضر کیا جائے گا اس کی قَسمo
— English
And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,
قُتِلَ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡاُخۡدُوۡدِۙ
— Transliteration
Qutila as-habu alukhdood
قُتِلَ
qutila
Destroyed were
مارے گئے
اَصۡحٰبُ
aṣḥābu
(the) companions
والے
الۡاُخۡدُوۡدِۙ
l-ukh'dūdi
(of) the pit
خندقوں (والے)
Urdu —
خندقوں والے (لوگ) ہلاک کر دیے گئےo
— English
Cursed were the companions of the trench
النَّارِ ذَاتِ الۡوَقُوۡدِۙ
— Transliteration
Annari thati alwaqood
النَّارِ
al-nāri
(Of) the fire
جو آگ تھی
ذَاتِ
dhāti
full
والی
الۡوَقُوۡدِۙ
l-waqūdi
(of) the fuel
ایندھن (والی)
Urdu —
(یعنی) اس بھڑکتی آگ (والے) جو بڑے ایندھن سے (جلائی گئی) تھیo
— English
[Containing] the fire full of fuel,
اِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُوۡدٌۙ
— Transliteration
Ith hum AAalayha quAAood
اِذۡ

عَلَيۡهَا
ʿalayhā
by it
اس پر
قُعُوۡدٌ ۙ
quʿūdun
(were) sitting
بیٹھے ہوئے تھے

جب وہ اس کے کناروں پر بیٹھے تھےo
— English
When they were sitting near it
وَّهُمۡ عَلٰى مَا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ بِالۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ شُهُوۡدٌؕ
— Transliteration
Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bilmu/mineenashuhood
وَّهُمۡ
wahum
And they
اور وہ
عَلٰى
ʿalā
over
اوپر
مَا
mā
what
اس کے جو
يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ
yafʿalūna
they were doing
وہ کر رہے تھے
بِالۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ
bil-mu'minīna
to the believers
مومنوں کے ساتھ
شُهُوۡدٌ ؕ
shuhūdun
witnesses
حاضر تھے
Urdu —
اور وہ خود گواہ ہیں جو کچھ وہ اہلِ ایمان کے ساتھ کر رہے تھے (یعنی انہیں آگ میں پھینک پھینک کر جلا رہے تھے)o
— English
And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.
وَمَا نَقَمُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ الۡعَزِيۡزِ الۡحَمِيۡدِۙ
— Transliteration
Wama naqamoo minhum illa anyu/minoo billahi alAAazeezi alhameed
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہ
نَقَمُوۡا
naqamū
they resented
وہ ناراض ہوئے
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
[of] them
ان سے
اِلَّاۤ
illā
except
مگر
اَنۡ
an
that
یہ کہ
يُّؤۡمِنُوۡا
yu'minū
they believed
وہ ایمان لائے
بِاللّٰهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
اللہ پر
الۡعَزِيۡزِ
l-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty
جو زبردست ہے
الۡحَمِيۡدِۙ
l-ḥamīdi
the Praiseworthy
تعریف والا ہے
Urdu —
اور انہیں ان (مومنوں) کی طرف سے اور کچھ (بھی) ناگوار نہ تھا سوائے اس کے کہ وہ اللہ پر ایمان لے آئے تھے جو غالب (اور) لائقِ حمد و ثنا ہےo
— English
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,
الَّذِىۡ لَهٗ مُلۡكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ شَهِيۡدٌؕ
— Transliteration
Allathee lahu mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wallahu AAala kullishay-in shaheed
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
The One Who
وہ ذات
لَهٗ
lahu
for Him
اسی کے لئے
مُلۡكُ
mul'ku
(is) the dominion
بادشاہت
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
آسمانوں کی
وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
اور زمین کی
وَ اللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
and Allah
اور اللہ
عَلٰى
ʿalā
on
پر
كُلِّ
kulli
every
ہر
شَىۡءٍ
shayin
thing
چیز (پر)
شَهِيۡدٌ ؕ
shahīdun
(is) a Witness
گواہ ہے
Urdu —
جس کے لئے آسمانوں اور زمین کی (ساری) بادشاہت ہے، اور اللہ ہر چیز پر گواہ ہےo
— English
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness.
اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ فَتَنُوۡا الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ وَالۡمُؤۡمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوۡبُوۡا فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ الۡحَرِيۡقِؕ
— Transliteration
Inna allatheena fatanoo almu/mineenawalmu/minati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabujahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeq
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
وہ لوگ
فَتَـنُوا
fatanū
persecuted
جنہوں نے آزمائش میں ڈالا
الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ
l-mu'minīna
the believing men
مومن مردوں کو
وَ الۡمُؤۡمِنٰتِ
wal-mu'mināti
and the believing women
اور مومن عورتوں کو
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
پھر
لَمۡ
lam
not
نہیں
يَتُوۡبُوۡا
yatūbū
they repented
انہوں نے توبہ کی
فَلَهُمۡ
falahum
then for them
تو ان کے لئے
عَذَابُ
ʿadhābu
(is the) punishment
عذاب ہے
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
(of) Hell
جہنم کا
وَلَهُمۡ
walahum
and for them
اور ان کے لئے
عَذَابُ
ʿadhābu
(is the) punishment
عذاب ہے
الۡحَرِيۡقِؕ
l-ḥarīqi
(of) the Burning Fire
جلنے کا
Urdu —
بیشک جن لوگوں نے مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں کو اذیت دی پھر توبہ (بھی) نہ کی تو ان کے لئے عذابِ جہنم ہے اور ان کے لئے (بالخصوص) آگ میں جلنے کا عذاب ہےo
— English
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.
اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنّٰتٌ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُؕؔ ذٰلِكَ الۡفَوۡزُ الۡكَبِيۡرُؕ
— Transliteration
Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum jannatuntajree min tahtiha al-anharu thalikaalfawzu alkabeer
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
وہ لوگ
اٰمَنُوۡا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
اور انہوں نے عمل کئے
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
the righteous deeds
اچھے
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
ان کے لئے
جَنّٰتٌ
jannātun
(will be) Gardens
باغ ہیں
تَجۡرِىۡ
tajrī
flow
بہتی ہیں
مِنۡ
min
from
سے
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihā
underneath it
ان کے نیچے (سے)
الۡاَنۡهٰرُ ؕ
l-anhāru
the rivers
نہریں
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
یہ
الۡفَوۡزُ
l-fawzu
(is) the success
کامیابی ہے
الۡكَبِيۡرُؕ
l-kabīru
the great
بڑی
Urdu —
بیشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے ان کے لئے جنتیں ہیں جن کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہیں، یہی بڑی کامیابی ہےo
— English
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.
اِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيۡدٌؕ
— Transliteration
Inna batsha rabbika lashadeed
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
بَطۡشَ
baṭsha
(the) Grip
پکڑ
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
تیرے رب کی
لَشَدِيۡدٌ ؕ
lashadīdun
(is) surely strong
البتہ بہت شدید ہے
Urdu —
بیشک آپ کے رب کی پکڑ بہت سخت ہےo
— English
Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.
اِنَّهٗ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيۡدُۚ
— Transliteration
Innahu huwa yubdi-o wayuAAeed
اِنَّهٗ
innahu
Indeed He,
بیشک وہ
هُوَ
huwa
He
وہی
يُبۡدِئُ
yub'di-u
originates
پیدا کرتا ہے
وَيُعِيۡدُ ۚ
wayuʿīdu
and repeats
اور لوٹاتا ہے
Urdu —
بیشک وہی پہلی بار پیدا فرماتا ہے اور وہی دوبارہ پیدا فرمائے گاo
— English
Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.
وَهُوَ الۡغَفُوۡرُ الۡوَدُوۡدُۙ
— Transliteration
Wahuwa alghafooru alwadood
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
اور وہ
الۡغَفُوۡرُ
l-ghafūru
(is) the Oft-Forgiving
بخشش فرمانے والا
الۡوَدُوۡدُۙ
l-wadūdu
the Most Loving
محبت کرنے والا ہے
Urdu —
اور وہ بڑا بخشنے والا بہت محبت فرمانے والا ہےo
— English
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,
ذُوۡ الۡعَرۡشِ الۡمَجِيۡدُۙ
— Transliteration
Thoo alAAarshi almajeed
ذُو
dhū
**Owner (of) the Throne
والا ہے
الۡعَرۡشِ
l-ʿarshi
the Throne
عرش (والا ہے)
الۡمَجِيۡدُ ۙ
l-majīdu
the Glorious
صاحب فضل و کرم ہے/ بزرگ و برتر ہے
Urdu —
مالکِ عرش (یعنی پوری کائنات کے تختِ اقتدار کا مالک) بڑی شان والا ہےo
— English
Honorable Owner of the Throne,
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيۡدُؕ
— Transliteration
FaAAAAalun lima yureed
فَعَّالٌ
faʿʿālun
Doer
کہ ڈالنے والا ہے/ کر گزرنے والا ہے
لِّمَا
limā
of what
واسطے اس کے جو
يُرِيۡدُ ؕ
yurīdu
He intends
وہ چاہتا ہے
Urdu —
وہ جو بھی ارادہ فرماتا ہے (اسے) خوب کر دینے والا ہےo
— English
Effecter of what He intends.
هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيۡثُ الۡجُـنُوۡدِۙ
— Transliteration
Hal ataka hadeethu aljunood
هَلۡ
hal
Has
کیا
اَتٰٮكَ
atāka
come to you
آئی تیرے پاس
حَدِيۡثُ
ḥadīthu
(the) story
خبر
الۡجُـنُوۡدِۙ
l-junūdi
(of) the hosts
لشکروں کی
Urdu —
کیا آپ کے پاس لشکروں کی خبر پہنچی ہےo
— English
Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُوۡدَؕ
— Transliteration
FirAAawna wathamood
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'ʿawna
Firaun
فرعون
وَثَمُوۡدَؕ
wathamūda
and Thamud?
اور ثمود کی
Urdu —
فرعون اور ثمود (کے لشکروں) کےo
— English
[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?
بَلِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا فِىۡ تَكۡذِيۡبٍۙ
— Transliteration
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheeb
بَلِ
bali
Nay!
بلکہ
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
Those who
وہ لوگ
كَفَرُوۡا
kafarū
disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
فِىۡ
fī
(are) in
میں
تَكۡذِيۡبٍۙ
takdhībin
denial
جھٹلانے میں ہیں
Urdu —
بلکہ ایسے کافر (ہمیشہ حق کو) جھٹلانے میں (ہی کوشاں رہتے) ہیںo
— English
But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,
وَّاللّٰهُ مِنۡ وَّرَآٮِٕهِمۡ مُّحِيۡطٌۚ
— Transliteration
Wallahu min wara-ihimmuheet
وَّاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
But Allah
اور اللہ
مِنۡ
min
from
سے
وَّرَآٮِٕهِمۡ
warāihim
behind them
ان کے آگے/ پیچھے سے
مُّحِيۡطٌۚ
muḥīṭun
encompasses
گھیرے ہوئے ہے
Urdu —
اور اللہ اُن کے گرد و پیش سے (انہیں) گھیرے ہوئے ہےo
— English
While Allah encompasses them from behind.
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡاٰنٌ مَّجِيۡدٌۙ
— Transliteration
Bal huwa qur-anun majeed
بَلۡ
bal
Nay!
بلکہ
هُوَ
huwa
It
وہ
قُرۡاٰنٌ
qur'ānun
(is) a Quran
قرآن
مَّجِيۡدٌ ۙ
majīdun
Glorious
مجید ہے
Urdu —
بلکہ یہ بڑی عظمت والا قرآن ہےo
— English
But this is an honored Qur'an
فِىۡ لَوۡحٍ مَّحۡفُوۡظٍ
— Transliteration
Fee lawhin mahfooth
فِىۡ
fī
In
میں
لَوۡحٍ
lawḥin
a Tablet
لوح
مَّحۡفُوۡظٍ
maḥfūẓin
Guarded
محفوظ
Urdu —
(جو) لوحِ محفوظ میں (لکھا ہوا) ہےo
— English
[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
