اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْفَطَرَتۡۙ
— Transliteration
Itha assamao infatarat
اِذَا

When
جب
السَّمَآءُ

the sky
آسمان
انْفَطَرَتۡۙ
infaṭarat
(is) cleft asunder
پھٹ جائے گا
Urdu —
جب (سب) آسمانی کرّے پھٹ جائیں گےo
— English
When the sky breaks apart
وَاِذَا الۡكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتۡۙ
— Transliteration
Wa-itha alkawakibu intatharat
وَاِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
اور جب
الۡكَوَاكِبُ
l-kawākibu
the stars
تارے
انْتَثَرَتۡۙ
intatharat
scatter
بکھرجائیں گے
Urdu —
اور جب سیارے گر کر بکھر جائیں گےo
— English
And when the stars fall, scattering,
وَاِذَا الۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡۙ
— Transliteration
Wa-itha albiharu fujjirat
وَاِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
اور جب
الۡبِحَارُ
l-biḥāru
the seas
سمندر
فُجِّرَتۡۙ
fujjirat
are made to gush forth
پھاڑ دیئے جائیں گے
Urdu —
اور جب سمندر (اور دریا) ابھر کر بہہ جائیں گےo
— English
And when the seas are erupted
وَاِذَا الۡقُبُوۡرُ بُعۡثِرَتۡۙ
— Transliteration
Wa-itha alqubooru buAAthirat
وَاِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
اور جب
الۡقُبُوۡرُ
l-qubūru
the graves
قبریں
بُعۡثِرَتۡۙ
buʿ'thirat
are overturned
کھول دی جائیں گی
Urdu —
اور جب قبریں زیر و زبر کر دی جائیں گیo
— English
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered,
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَاَخَّرَتۡؕ
— Transliteration
AAalimat nafsun ma qaddamatwaakhkharat
عَلِمَتۡ
ʿalimat
Will know
جان لے گا
نَفۡسٌ
nafsun
a soul
ہر شخص
مَّا
mā
what
جو
قَدَّمَتۡ
qaddamat
it has sent forth
اس نے آگے بھیجا
وَاَخَّرَتۡؕ
wa-akharat
and left behind
اور جو پیچھے رکھا
Urdu —
تو ہر شخص جان لے گا کہ کیا عمل اس نے آگے بھیجا اور (کیا) پیچھے چھوڑ آیا تھاo
— English
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
يٰۤاَيُّهَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الۡكَرِيۡمِۙ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha al-insanu magharraka birabbika alkareem
يٰۤاَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
اے
الۡاِنۡسَانُ
l-insānu
man
انسان
مَا
mā
What
کس چیز نے
غَرَّكَ
gharraka
has deceived you
دھوکے میں ڈالا تجھ کو
بِرَبِّكَ
birabbika
concerning your Lord
تیرے رب
الۡكَرِيۡمِۙ
l-karīmi
the Most Noble
کریم کے بارے میں
Urdu —
اے انسان! تجھے کس چیز نے اپنے ربِ کریم کے بارے میں دھوکے میں ڈال دیاo
— English
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّٰٮكَ فَعَدَلَـكَۙ
— Transliteration
Allathee khalaqaka fasawwakafaAAadalak
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
Who
وہ جس نے
خَلَقَكَ
khalaqaka
created you
پیدا کیا تجھ کو
فَسَوّٰٮكَ
fasawwāka
then fashioned you
پھر درست کیا تجھ کو
فَعَدَلَـكَۙ
faʿadalaka
then balanced you
پھر برابر کیا تجھ کو
Urdu —
جس نے (رحم مادر کے اندر ایک نطفہ میں سے) تجھے پیدا کیا، پھر اس نے تجھے (اعضا سازی کے لئے ابتداءً) درست اور سیدھا کیا، پھر وہ تیری ساخت میں متناسب تبدیلی لایاo
— English
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
فِىۡۤ اَىِّ صُوۡرَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَؕ
— Transliteration
Fee ayyi sooratin ma shaarakkabak
فِىۡۤ

شَآءَ

He willed
اس نے چاہا
رَكَّبَكَؕ

He assembled you
جوڑ دیا تجھ کو
Urdu —
جس صورت میں بھی چاہا اس نے تجھے ترکیب دے دیاo
— English
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَ بِالدِّيۡنِۙ
— Transliteration
Kalla bal tukaththiboona biddeen
كَلَّا
kallā
Nay!
ہرگز نہیں
بَلۡ
bal
But
بلکہ
تُكَذِّبُوۡنَ
tukadhibūna
you deny
تم جھٹلاتے ہو
بِالدِّيۡنِۙ
bil-dīni
the Judgment
جزا وسزا کو
Urdu —
حقیقت تو یہ ہے (اور) تم اِس کے برعکس روزِ جزا کو جھٹلاتے ہوo
— English
No! But you deny the Recompense.
وَاِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحٰـفِظِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Wa-inna AAalaykum lahafitheen
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʿalaykum
over you
تم پر
لَحٰـفِظِيۡنَۙ
laḥāfiẓīna
(are) surely guardians
البتہ حفاظت کرنے والے ہیں/ نگرانی کرنے والے
Urdu —
حالانکہ تم پر نگہبان فرشتے مقرر ہیںo
— English
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Kiraman katibeen
كِرَامًا
kirāman
Noble
بزرگ/محترم
كَاتِبِيۡنَۙ
kātibīna
recording
لکھنے والے ہیں
Urdu —
(جو) بہت معزز ہیں (تمہارے اعمال نامے) لکھنے والے ہیںo
— English
Noble and recording;
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ مَا تَفۡعَلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
YaAAlamoona ma tafAAaloon
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
yaʿlamūna
They know
جانتے ہیں
مَا
mā
whatever
جو کچھ
تَفۡعَلُوۡنَ
tafʿalūna
you do
تم کرتے ہو
Urdu —
وہ ان (تمام کاموں) کو جانتے ہیں جو تم کرتے ہوo
— English
They know whatever you do.
اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ لَفِىۡ نَعِيۡمٍۙ
— Transliteration
Inna al-abrara lafee naAAeem
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
الۡاَبۡرَارَ
l-abrāra
the righteous
نیک لوگ
لَفِىۡ
lafī
(will be) surely in
البتہ میں
نَعِيۡمٍۚ
naʿīmin
bliss
نعمتوں میں ہوں گے
Urdu —
بیشک نیکوکار جنّتِ نعمت میں ہوں گےo
— English
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
وَّاِنَّ الۡفُجَّارَ لَفِىۡ جَحِيۡمٍۙ
— Transliteration
Wa-inna alfujjara lafee jaheem
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
الۡفُجَّارَ
l-fujāra
the wicked
بدکار لوگ
لَفِىۡ
lafī
(will be) surely in
البتہ میں
جَحِيۡمٍ ۚۖ
jaḥīmin
Hellfire
جہنم میں ہوں گے
Urdu —
اور بیشک بدکار دوزخِ (سوزاں) میں ہوں گےo
— English
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
يَّصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ الدِّيۡنِ
— Transliteration
Yaslawnaha yawma addeen
يَّصۡلَوۡنَهَا
yaṣlawnahā
They will burn (in) it
وہ داخل ہوں گے اس میں
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
دن
الدِّيۡنِ
l-dīni
(of) the Judgment
جزا سزا کے (دن)/ بدلے کے (دن)
Urdu —
وہ اس میں قیامت کے روز داخل ہوں گےo
— English
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآٮِٕبِيۡنَؕ
— Transliteration
Wama hum AAanha bigha-ibeen
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
هُمۡ
hum
they
وہ
عَنۡهَا
ʿanhā
from it
اس سے
بِغَآٮِٕبِيۡنَؕ
bighāibīna
(will be) absent
کچھ غائب ہونے والے
Urdu —
اور وہ اس (دوزخ) سے (کبھی بھی) غائب نہ ہو سکیں گےo
— English
And never therefrom will they be absent.
وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الدِّيۡنِۙ
— Transliteration
Wama adraka ma yawmu addeeni
وَمَاۤ
wamā
And what
اور کیا چیز
اَدۡرٰٮكَ
adrāka
can make you know
بتائے تجھ کو
مَا
mā
what
کیا ہے ؟
يَوۡمُ
yawmu
(is the) Day
دن
الدِّيۡنِۙ
l-dīni
(of) the Judgment
بدلے کا
Urdu —
اور آپ نے کیا سمجھا کہ روزِ جزا کیا ہےo
— English
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
ثُمَّ مَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الدِّيۡنِؕ
— Transliteration
Thumma ma adraka mayawmu addeen
ثُمَّ

Then,
پھر
مَاۤ

کیا چیز
اَدۡرٰٮكَ
adrāka
can make you know
بتائے تجھ کو
مَا
mā
what
کہ کیا ہے ؟
يَوۡمُ
yawmu
(is the) Day

الدِّيۡنِؕ

(of) the Judgment
بدلے کا
Urdu —
پھر آپ نے کیا جانا کہ روزِ جزا کیا ہےo
— English
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٌ لِّنَفۡسٍ شَيْئًا ؕ وَّالۡاَمۡرُ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلَّهِ
— Transliteration
Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsinshay-an wal-amru yawma-ithin lillah
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
جس دن

نہ
تَمۡلِكُ
tamliku
will have power
مالک ہوگا
نَفۡسٌ
nafsun
a soul
کوئی نفس
لِّنَفۡسٍ
linafsin
for a soul
کسی نفس کے لئے
شَيۡـــًٔا ؕ
shayan
anything
کچھ بھی/ کسی چیز کا بھی
وَالۡاَمۡرُ
wal-amru
and the Command
اور تمام معاملہ ہوگا
يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ
yawma-idhin
that Day
اس دن
لِّلَّهِ
lillahi
(will be) with Allah
اللہ ہی کے لئے
Urdu —
(یہ) وہ دن ہے جب کوئی شخص کسی کے لئے کسی چیز کا مالک نہ ہوگا، اور حکم فرمائی اس دن اللہ ہی کی ہوگیo
— English
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
