يٰۤاَيُّهَا الۡمُزَّمِّلُۙ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha almuzzammil
يٰۤاَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O you
اے
الۡمُزَّمِّلُۙ
l-muzamilu
who wraps himself
اوڑھ لپیٹ کر سونے والے
Urdu —
اے کملی کی جھرمٹ والے (حبیب!)o
— English
O you who wraps himself [in clothing],
قُمِ الَّيۡلَ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلاًۙ
— Transliteration
Qumi allayla illa qaleela
قُمِ
qumi
Stand
قیام کرو
الَّيۡلَ
al-layla
(in) the night
رات کو
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
قَلِيۡلًا ۙ
qalīlan
a little
کم
Urdu —
آپ رات کو (نماز میں) قیام فرمایا کریں مگر تھوڑی دیر (کے لئے)o
— English
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -
نِّصۡفَهٗۤ اَوِ انْقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيۡلاًۙ
— Transliteration
Nisfahu awi onqus minhu qaleela
نِّصۡفَهٗۤ
niṣ'fahu
Half of it
آدھا اس کا
اَوِ
awi
or
یا
انْقُصۡ
unquṣ
lessen
کم کرو
مِنۡهُ
min'hu
from it
اس سے
قَلِيۡلًا ۙ
qalīlan
a little
تھوڑا سا
Urdu —
آدھی رات یا اِس سے تھوڑا کم کر دیںo
— English
Half of it - or subtract from it a little
اَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ الۡقُرۡاٰنَ تَرۡتِيۡلاًؕ
— Transliteration
Aw zid AAalayhi warattili alqur-anatarteela
اَوۡ

Or
یا
زِدۡ

add
زیادہ بڑھا دو
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
to it,
اس پر
وَرَتِّلِ
warattili
and recite
اور آہستہ آہستہ پڑھو
الۡقُرۡاٰنَ
l-qur'āna
the Quran
قرآن کو
تَرۡتِيۡلًا ؕ
tartīlan
(with) measured rhythmic recitation
آہستہ آہستہ پڑھنا
Urdu —
یا اس پر کچھ زیادہ کر دیں اور قرآن خوب ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھا کریںo
— English
Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.
اِنَّا سَنُلۡقِىۡ عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلاً ثَقِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
Inna sanulqee AAalayka qawlan thaqeela
اِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
بیشک ہم
سَنُلۡقِىۡ
sanul'qī
will cast
عنقریب ہم ڈالیں گے
عَلَيۡكَ
ʿalayka
upon you
آپ پر
قَوۡلًا
qawlan
a Word
بات۔
ثَقِيۡلًا
thaqīlan
heavy
بھاری ۔ بوجھل
Urdu —
ہم عنقریب آپ پر ایک بھاری فرمان نازل کریں گےo
— English
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.
اِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ الَّيۡلِ هِىَ اَشَدُّ وَطۡـأً وَّاَقۡوَمُ قِيۡلاًؕ
— Transliteration
Inna nashi-ata allayli hiya ashaddu wat-anwaaqwamu qeela
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
نَاشِئَةَ
nāshi-ata
(the) rising
اٹھنا
الَّيۡلِ
al-layli
(at) the night
رات کا
هِىَ
hiya
it
وہ
اَشَدُّ
ashaddu
(is) very hard
زیادہ شدید ہے
وَطۡـاً
waṭan
and most potent
کچلنے میں
وَّاَقۡوَمُ
wa-aqwamu
and more suitable
اور زیادہ درست ہے
قِيۡلًا ؕ
qīlan
(for) Word
بات میں
Urdu —
بے شک رات کا اُٹھنا (نفس کو) سخت پامال کرتا ہے اور (دِل و دِماغ کی یک سُوئی کے ساتھ) زبان سے سیدھی بات نکالتا ہےo
— English
Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.
اِنَّ لَـكَ فِىۡ النَّهَارِ سَبۡحًا طَوِيۡلاًؕ
— Transliteration
Inna laka fee annahari sabhantaweela
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
لَـكَ
laka
for you
آپ کے لیے
فِى
fī
in
میں
النَّهَارِ
l-nahāri
the day
دن
سَبۡحًا
sabḥan
(is) occupation
مصروفیات میں
طَوِيۡلًا ؕ
ṭawīlan
prolonged
طویل۔ لمبی
Urdu —
بے شک آپ کے لئے دن میں بہت سی مصروفیات ہوتی ہیںo
— English
Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.
وَاذۡكُرِ اسۡمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلۡ اِلَيۡهِ تَبۡتِيۡلاًؕ
— Transliteration
Wathkuri isma rabbikawatabattal ilayhi tabteela
وَاذۡكُرِ
wa-udh'kuri
And remember
اور ذکر کرو
اسۡمَ
is'ma
(the) name
نام
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
اپنے رب کا
وَتَبَتَّلۡ
watabattal
and devote yourself
اور کٹ جاؤ۔ منقطع ہوجاؤ
اِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to Him
اس کی طرف
تَبۡتِيۡلًا ؕ
tabtīlan
(with) devotion
منقطع ہوجانا۔ کٹ جانا
Urdu —
اور آپ اپنے رب کے نام کا ذِکر کرتے رہیں اور (اپنے قلب و باطن میں) ہر ایک سے ٹوٹ کر اُسی کے ہو رہیںo
— English
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.
رَبُّ الۡمَشۡرِقِ وَالۡمَغۡرِبِ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذۡهُ وَكِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
Rabbu almashriqi walmaghribi lailaha illa huwa fattakhithhu wakeela
رَبُّ
rabbu
(The) Lord
رب
الۡمَشۡرِقِ
l-mashriqi
(of) the east
مشرق کا
وَالۡمَغۡرِبِ
wal-maghribi
and the west
اور مغرب کا
لَاۤ
lā
(there is) no
نہیں
اِلٰهَ
ilāha
God
کو ئی الہ برحق
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
هُوَ
huwa
Him,
وہی
فَاتَّخِذۡهُ
fa-ittakhidh'hu
so take Him
پس بنا لو اس کو
وَكِيۡلًا
wakīlan
(as) Disposer of Affairs
کارساز
Urdu —
وہ مشرق و مغرب کا مالک ہے، اُس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، سو اُسی کو (اپنا) کارساز بنا لیںo
— English
[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.
وَاصۡبِرۡ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَاهۡجُرۡهُمۡ هَجۡرًا جَمِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
Wasbir AAala mayaqooloona wahjurhum hajran jameela
وَاصۡبِرۡ
wa-iṣ'bir
And be patient
اور صبر کرو
عَلٰى
ʿalā
over
اس پر
مَا
mā
what
جو
يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ
yaqūlūna
they say
وہ کہتے ہیں
وَاهۡجُرۡهُمۡ
wa-uh'jur'hum
and avoid them
اور چھوڑ دو ان کو
هَجۡرًا
hajran
an avoidance
چھوڑنا
جَمِيۡلًا
jamīlan
gracious
اچھی طرح۔ خوبصورت طریقے سے
Urdu —
اور آپ ان (باتوں) پر صبر کریں جو کچھ وہ (کفار) کہتے ہیں، اور نہایت خوبصورتی کے ساتھ ان سے کنارہ کش ہو جائیںo
— English
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.
وَذَرۡنِىۡ وَالۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ اُولِىۡ النَّعۡمَةِ وَمَهِّلۡهُمۡ قَلِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
Watharnee walmukaththibeenaolee annaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleela
وَذَرۡنِىۡ
wadharnī
And leave Me
اور چھوڑو مجھ کو
وَالۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ
wal-mukadhibīna
and the deniers
اور جھٹلانے والوں کو
اُولِى
ulī
possessors
والے
النَّعۡمَةِ
l-naʿmati
(of) the ease
نعمت
وَمَهِّلۡهُمۡ
wamahhil'hum
and allow them respite
اور ڈھیل دو ان کو
قَلِيۡلًا
qalīlan
a little
تھوڑی سی
Urdu —
اور آپ مجھے اور جھٹلانے والے سرمایہ داروں کو (اِنتقام لینے کے لئے) چھوڑ دیں اور انہیں تھوڑی سی مہلت دے دیں (تاکہ اُن کے اَعمالِ بد اپنی اِنتہاء کو پہنچ جائیں)o
— English
And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.
اِنَّ لَدَيۡنَاۤ اَنۡكَالاً وَّجَحِيۡمًاۙ
— Transliteration
Inna ladayna ankalan wajaheema
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
لَدَيۡنَاۤ
ladaynā
with Us
ہمارے پاس
اَنۡـكَالًا
ankālan
(are) shackles
بھاری بیڑیاں ہیں
وَّجَحِيۡمًا ۙ
wajaḥīman
and burning fire
اور بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ
Urdu —
بیشک ہمارے پاس بھاری بیڑیاں اور (دوزخ کی) بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ ہےo
— English
Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire
وَّطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَّعَذَابًا اَلِيۡمًا
— Transliteration
WataAAaman tha ghussatinwaAAathaban aleema
وَّطَعَامًا
waṭaʿāman
And food
اور کھانا
ذَا
dhā
**that chokes
والا
غُصَّةٍ
ghuṣṣatin
chokes
اٹکنے
وَّعَذَابًا
waʿadhāban
and a punishment
اور عذاب
اَلِيۡمًا
alīman
painful
دردناک
Urdu —
اور حلق میں اٹک جانے والا کھانا اور نہایت دردناک عذاب ہےo
— English
And food that chokes and a painful punishment -
يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ الۡاَرۡضُ وَالۡجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الۡجِبَالُ كَثِيۡبًا مَّهِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
Yawma tarjufu al-ardu waljibaluwakanati aljibalu katheeban maheela
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(On the) Day
جس دن
تَرۡجُفُ
tarjufu
will quake
کانپے گی
الۡاَرۡضُ
l-arḍu
the earth
زمین
وَالۡجِبَالُ
wal-jibālu
and the mountains
اور پہاڑ
وَكَانَتِ
wakānati
and will become
اور ہوں گے
الۡجِبَالُ
l-jibālu
the mountains
پہاڑ
كَثِيۡبًا
kathīban
a heap of sand
ٹیلے
مَّهِيۡلًا
mahīlan
pouring down
بکھرے ہوئے
Urdu —
جس دن زمین اورپہاڑ زور سے لرزنے لگیں گے اور پہاڑ بکھرتی ریت کے ٹیلے ہو جائیں گےo
— English
On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.
اِنَّاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُوۡلاً ۙ شَاهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰى فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُوۡلاًؕ
— Transliteration
Inna arsalna ilaykum rasoolanshahidan AAalaykum kama arsalna ilafirAAawna rasoola
اِنَّاۤ
innā
Indeed, We
بیشک ہم نے
اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ
arsalnā
[We] have sent
بھیجا ہم نے
اِلَيۡكُمۡ
ilaykum
to you
آپ کی طرف۔ تم سب کی طرف
رَسُوۡلًا ۙ
rasūlan
a Messenger
ایک رسول
شَاهِدًا
shāhidan
(as) a witness
گواہ
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʿalaykum
upon you,
تم پر
كَمَاۤ
kamā
as
جیسا کہ
اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ
arsalnā
We sent
بھیجا ہم نے
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'ʿawna
Firaun
فرعون کی
رَسُوۡلًا ؕ
rasūlan
a Messenger
ایک رسول
Urdu —
بے شک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھیجا ہے جو تم پر (اَحوال کا مشاہدہ فرما کر) گواہی دینے والا ہے، جیسا کہ ہم نے فرعون کی طرف ایک رسول کو بھیجا تھاo
— English
Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.
فَعَصٰى فِرۡعَوۡنُ الرَّسُوۡلَ فَاَخَذۡنٰهُ اَخۡذًا وَّبِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
FaAAasa firAAawnu arrasoolafaakhathnahu akhthan wabeela
فَعَصٰى
faʿaṣā
But disobeyed
تو نافرمانی کی
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
fir'ʿawnu
Firaun
فرعون نے
الرَّسُوۡلَ
l-rasūla
the Messenger
رسول کی
فَاَخَذۡنٰهُ
fa-akhadhnāhu
so We seized him
تو پکڑ لیا ہم نے اس کو
اَخۡذًا
akhdhan
(with) a seizure
پکڑنا
وَّبِيۡلًا
wabīlan
ruinous
سخت
Urdu —
پس فرعون نے اس رسول (علیہ السلام) کی نافرمانی کی، سو ہم نے اس کو ہلاکت انگیز گرفت میں پکڑ لیاo
— English
But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.
فَكَيۡفَ تَتَّقُوۡنَ اِنۡ كَفَرۡتُمۡ يَوۡمًا يَّجۡعَلُ الۡوِلۡدَانَ شِيۡبَا ۖ
— Transliteration
Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum yawmanyajAAalu alwildana sheeba
فَكَيۡفَ
fakayfa
Then how
تو کس طرح
تَتَّقُوۡنَ
tattaqūna
will you guard yourselves
تم بچو گے
اِنۡ
in
if
اگر
كَفَرۡتُمۡ
kafartum
you disbelieve
کفر کیا تم نے
يَوۡمًا
yawman
a Day
اس دن
يَّجۡعَلُ
yajʿalu
(that) will make
جو کردے گا
الۡوِلۡدَانَ
l-wil'dāna
the children
بچوں کو
شِيۡبَا ۖ
shīban
gray-haired
بوڑھا
Urdu —
اگر تم کفر کرتے رہو تو اُس دن (کے عذاب) سے کیسے بچو گے جو بچوں کو بوڑھا کردے گاo
— English
Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired?
اۨلسَّمَآءُ مُنۡفَطِرٌۢ بِهٖؕ كَانَ وَعۡدُهٗ مَفۡعُوۡلاً
— Transliteration
Assamao munfatirunbihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoola
اۨلسَّمَآءُ
al-samāu
The heaven
آسمان
مُنۡفَطِرٌ ۢ
munfaṭirun
(will) break apart
پھٹ رہا ہوگا
بِهٖؕ
bihi
therefrom,
ساتھ اس کے
كَانَ
kāna
is
ہے
وَعۡدُهٗ
waʿduhu
His Promise
وعدہ اس کا
مَفۡعُوۡلًا
mafʿūlan
to be fulfilled
ہو کر رہنے والا
Urdu —
(جس دن کی) شدت کے باعث آسمان پھٹ جائے گا، اُس کا وعدہ پورا ہو کر رہے گاo
— English
The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.
اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذۡكِرَةٌ ۚ فَمَنۡ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِيۡلاً
— Transliteration
Inna hathihi tathkiratun famanshaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeela
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
هٰذِهٖ
hādhihi
this
یہ
تَذۡكِرَةٌ ۚ
tadhkiratun
(is) a Reminder
ایک نصیحت
فَمَنۡ
faman
then whoever
پس جو کوئی
شَآءَ
shāa
wills
چاہے
اتَّخَذَ
ittakhadha
(let him) take
بنالے
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
رَبِّهٖ
rabbihi
his Lord
اپنے رب کی
سَبِيۡلًا
sabīlan
a way
راستہ
Urdu —
بے شک یہ (قرآن) نصیحت ہے، پس جو شخص چاہے اپنے رب تک پہنچنے کا راستہ اِختیار کر لےo
— English
Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.
اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعۡلَمُ اَنَّكَ تَقُوۡمُ اَدۡنٰى مِنۡ ثُلُثَىِ الَّيۡلِ وَنِصۡفَهٗ وَثُلُثَهٗ وَطَآٮِٕفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيۡنَ مَعَكَؕ وَاللّٰهُ يُقَدِّرُ الَّيۡلَ وَالنَّهَارَؕ عَلِمَ اَنۡ لَّنۡ تُحۡصُوۡهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَاقۡرَءُوۡا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الۡقُرۡاٰنِؕ عَلِمَ اَنۡ سَيَكُوۡنُ مِنۡكُمۡ مَّرۡضٰىۙ وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ يَضۡرِبُوۡنَ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ يَبۡتَغُوۡنَ مِنۡ فَضۡلِ اللّٰهِۙ وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ يُقَاتِلُوۡنَ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ ۖ فَاقۡرَءُوۡا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنۡهُۙ وَاَقِيۡمُوۡا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَقۡرِضُوۡا اللّٰهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنًاؕ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوۡا لِاَنۡفُسِكُمۡ مِّنۡ خَيۡرٍ تَجِدُوۡهُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ هُوَ خَيۡرًا وَّاَعۡظَمَ اَجۡرًاؕ وَاسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡا اللّٰهَؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adnamin thuluthayi allayli wanisfahu wathuluthahu wata-ifatunmina allatheena maAAaka wallahu yuqaddiruallayla wannahara AAalima an lan tuhsoohufataba AAalaykum faqraoo ma tayassara minaalqur-ani AAalima an sayakoonu minkum marda waakharoonayadriboona fee al-ardi yabtaghoona min fadliAllahi waakharoona yuqatiloona fee sabeeliAllahi faqraoo ma tayassara minhu waaqeemooassalata waatoo azzakatawaaqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan wamatuqaddimoo li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahihuwa khayran waaAAthama ajran wastaghfirooAllaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheem
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
تیرا رب
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʿlamu
knows
جانتا ہے
اَنَّكَ
annaka
that you
بیشک آپ
تَقُوۡمُ
taqūmu
stand
کھڑے رہتے ہیں
اَدۡنىٰ
adnā
(a little) less
قریب
مِنۡ
min
than
ثُلُثَىِ
thuluthayi
two-thirds
دو تہارئی
الَّيۡلِ
al-layli
(of) the night
رات کے
وَ نِصۡفَهٗ
waniṣ'fahu
and half of it
اور آدھے اس کے
وَثُلُثَهٗ
wathuluthahu
and a third of it
اور ایک تہائی اس کے
وَطَآٮِٕفَةٌ
waṭāifatun
and (so do) a group
اور ایک گروہ
مِّنَ
mina
of
سے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں میں (سے)جو
مَعَكَؕ
maʿaka
(are) with you.
آپ کے ساتھ
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
اور اللہ
يُقَدِّرُ
yuqaddiru
determines
حساب رکھتا ہے -اندازہ رکھتا ہے
الَّيۡلَ
al-layla
the night
رات کا
وَالنَّهَارَؕ
wal-nahāra
and the day
اور دن کا
عَلِمَ
ʿalima
He knows
وہ جانتا ہے
اَنۡ
an
that
کہ
لَّنۡ
lan
not
ہرگز نہیں
تُحۡصُوۡهُ
tuḥ'ṣūhu
you count it
تم شمار کرسکتے ہیں اس کو
فَتَابَ
fatāba
so He has turned
تو وہ مہربان ہوا
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʿalaykum
to you,
تم پر
فَاقۡرَءُوۡا
fa-iq'raū
so recite
پس پڑھو
مَا
mā
what
جو
تَيَسَّرَ
tayassara
is easy
آسانی
مِنَ
mina
of
سے
الۡقُرۡاٰنِؕ
l-qur'āni
the Quran
(پڑھ سکو ) قرآن میں (سے)
عَلِمَ
ʿalima
He knows
وہ جانتا ہے
اَنۡ
an
that
کہ
سَيَكُوۡنُ
sayakūnu
there will be
عنقریب ہوں گے
مِنۡكُمۡ
minkum
among you
تم میں سے
مَّرۡضٰىۙ
marḍā
sick
بیمار
وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ
waākharūna
and others
اور کچھ دوسرے
يَضۡرِبُوۡنَ
yaḍribūna
traveling
سفر کرتے ہوں گے
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the land
زمین (میں)
يَبۡتَغُوۡنَ
yabtaghūna
seeking
چاہتے ہوں گے
مِنۡ
min
of
سے
فَضۡلِ
faḍli
(the) Bounty
فضل میں (سے)
اللّٰهِۙ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کے
وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ
waākharūna
and others
اور کچھ دوسرے
يُقَاتِلُوۡنَ
yuqātilūna
fighting
جنگ کرتے ہوں گے
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
سَبِيۡلِ
sabīli
(the) way
راستے (میں)
اللّٰهِ ۖ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کے
فَاقۡرَءُوۡا
fa-iq'raū
So recite
پس پڑھو
مَا
mā
what
جو
تَيَسَّرَ
tayassara
is easy
میسر آئے
مِنۡهُ ۙ
min'hu
of it,
اس میں سے
وَاَقِيۡمُوا
wa-aqīmū
and establish
اور قائم کرو
الصَّلٰوةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
نماز
وَاٰتُوا
waātū
and give
اور دو
الزَّكٰوةَ
l-zakata
the zakah
زکوۃ
وَاَقۡرِضُوا
wa-aqriḍū
and loan
اور قرض دو
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ کو
قَرۡضًا
qarḍan
a loan
قرض
حَسَنًا ؕ
ḥasanan
goodly
اچھا
وَمَا
wamā
And whatever
اور جو
تُقَدِّمُوۡا
tuqaddimū
you send forth
تم آگے بھیجو گے
لِاَنۡفُسِكُمۡ
li-anfusikum
for yourselves
اپنے نفسوں کے لیے
مِّنۡ
min
of
سے
خَيۡرٍ
khayrin
good
بھلائی میں (سے)
تَجِدُوۡهُ
tajidūhu
you will find it
تم پالوگے اس کو
عِنۡدَ
ʿinda
with
پاس
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
هُوَ
huwa
It
وہ
خَيۡرًا
khayran
(will be) better
بہتر ہے
وَّاَعۡظَمَ
wa-aʿẓama
and greater
اور زیادہ بڑا ہے
اَجۡرًا ؕ
ajran
(in) reward
اجر میں
وَاسۡتَغۡفِرُوا
wa-is'taghfirū
And seek forgiveness
اور بخشش مانگو
اللّٰهَ ؕ
l-laha
(of) Allah
اللہ سے
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
غَفُوۡرٌ
ghafūrun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
غفور
رَّحِيۡمٌ
raḥīmun
Most Merciful
رحیم ہے
Urdu —
بے شک آپ کا رب جانتا ہے کہ آپ (کبھی) دو تہائی شب کے قریب اور (کبھی) نصف شب اور (کبھی) ایک تہائی شب (نماز میں) قیام کرتے ہیں، اور اُن لوگوں کی ایک جماعت (بھی) جو آپ کے ساتھ ہیں (قیام میں شریک ہوتی ہے)، اور اﷲ ہی رات اور دن (کے گھٹنے اور بڑھنے) کا صحیح اندازہ رکھتا ہے، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم ہرگز اُس کے اِحاطہ کی طاقت نہیں رکھتے، سو اُس نے تم پر (مشقت میں تخفیف کر کے) معافی دے دی، پس جتنا آسانی سے ہو سکے قرآن پڑھ لیا کرو، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم میں سے (بعض لوگ) بیمار ہوں گے اور (بعض) دوسرے لوگ زمین میں سفر کریں گے تاکہ اﷲ کا فضل تلاش کریں اور (بعض) دیگر اﷲ کی راہ میں جنگ کریں گے، سو جتنا آسانی سے ہو سکے اُتنا (ہی) پڑھ لیا کرو، اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہو اور اﷲ کو قرضِ حسن دیا کرو، اور جو بھلائی تم اپنے لئے آگے بھیجو گے اُسے اﷲ کے حضور بہتر اور اَجر میں بزرگ تر پا لوگے، اور اﷲ سے بخشش طلب کرتے رہو، اﷲ بہت بخشنے والا بے حد رحم فرمانے والا ہےo
— English
Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
