وَالنَّجۡمِ اِذَا هَوٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Wannajmi itha hawa
وَالنَّجۡمِ
wal-najmi
By the star
قسم ہے تارے کی
اِذَا
idhā
when
جب
هَوٰىۙ
hawā
it es down
وہ گرا
Urdu —
قَسم ہے روشن ستارے (محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی جب وہ (چشمِ زدن میں شبِ معراج اوپر جا کر) نیچے اترےo
— English
By the star when it descends,
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوٰىۚ
— Transliteration
Ma dalla sahibukum wamaghawa
مَا
mā
Not
نہیں
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
has strayed
بھٹکا
صَاحِبُكُمۡ
ṣāḥibukum
your companion
ساتھی تمہارا
وَمَا
wamā
and not
ا ور نہ
غَوٰىۚ
ghawā
has he erred
وہ بہکا
Urdu —
تمہیں (اپنی) صحبت سے نوازنے والے (یعنی تمہیں اپنے فیضِ صحبت سے صحابی بنانے والے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نہ (کبھی) راہ بھولے اور نہ (کبھی) راہ سے بھٹکےo
— English
Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,
وَمَا يَنۡطِقُ عَنِ الۡهَوٰىؕ
— Transliteration
Wama yantiqu AAani alhawa
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
يَنۡطِقُ
yanṭiqu
he speaks
وہ بولتا۔ بات کرتا
عَنِ
ʿani
from
سے
الۡهَوٰىؕ
l-hawā
the desire
خواہش نفس
Urdu —
اور وہ (اپنی) خواہش سے کلام نہیں کرتےo
— English
Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.
اِنۡ هُوَ اِلَّا وَحۡىٌ يُّوۡحٰىۙ
— Transliteration
In huwa illa wahyun yooha
اِنۡ
in
Not
نہیں
هُوَ
huwa
it
وہ
اِلَّا
illā
(is) except
مگر
وَحۡىٌ
waḥyun
a revelation
ایک وحی ہے
يُّوۡحٰىۙ
yūḥā
revealed
جو وحی کی جاتی ہے
Urdu —
اُن کا ارشاد سَراسَر وحی ہوتا ہے جو انہیں کی جاتی ہےo
— English
It is not but a revelation revealed,
عَلَّمَهٗ شَدِيۡدُ الۡقُوٰىۙ
— Transliteration
AAallamahu shadeedu alquwa
عَلَّمَهٗ
ʿallamahu
Has taught him
سکھایا اس کو
شَدِيۡدُ
shadīdu
the (one) mighty
زبردست
الۡقُوٰىۙ
l-quwā
(in) power
قوت والے نے
Urdu —
ان کو بڑی قوّتوں و الے (رب) نے (براہِ راست) علمِ (کامل) سے نوازاo
— English
Taught to him by one intense in strength -
ذُوۡ مِرَّةٍؕ فَاسۡتَوٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Thoo mirratin fastawa
ذُوۡ
dhū
**Possessor of soundness.
صاحب
مِرَّةٍؕ
mirratin
Possessor of soundness
قوت ہے
فَاسۡتَوٰىۙ
fa-is'tawā
And he rose
پھر پورا نظر آیا۔ سیدھا کھڑا ہوگیا۔ درست ہوگیا
Urdu —
جو حسنِ مُطلَق ہے، پھر اُس (جلوۂ حُسن) نے (اپنے) ظہور کا ارادہ فرمایاo
— English
One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form
وَهُوَ بِالۡاُفُقِ الۡاَعۡلٰىؕ
— Transliteration
Wahuwa bil-ofuqi al-aAAla
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
While he
اور وہ
بِالۡاُفُقِ
bil-ufuqi
(was) in the horizon
افق پر تھا
الۡاَعۡلٰى ؕ
l-aʿlā
the highest
بالائی۔ اعلیٰ
Urdu —
اور وہ (محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم شبِ معراج عالمِ مکاں کے) سب سے اونچے کنارے پر تھے (یعنی عالَمِ خلق کی انتہاء پر تھے)o
— English
While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon.
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلّٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Thumma dana fatadalla
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
پھر
دَنَا
danā
he approached
قریب آیا
فَتَدَلّٰىۙ
fatadallā
and came down
پھر اتر آیا
Urdu —
پھر وہ (ربّ العزّت اپنے حبیب محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے) قریب ہوا پھر اور زیادہ قریب ہوگیا٭o
— English
Then he approached and descended
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَيۡنِ اَوۡ اَدۡنٰىۚ
— Transliteration
Fakana qaba qawsayni aw adna
فَكَانَ
fakāna
And was
تو تھا اندازے سے
قَابَ
qāba
(at) a distance
برابر
قَوۡسَيۡنِ
qawsayni
(of) two bow-(lengths)
دو کمان کے
اَوۡ
aw
or
یا
اَدۡنٰىۚ
adnā
nearer
اس سے کم تر۔ قریب
Urdu —
پھر (جلوۂ حق اور حبیبِ مکرّم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم میں صرف) دو کمانوں کی مقدار فاصلہ رہ گیا یا (انتہائے قرب میں) اس سے بھی کم (ہو گیا)o
— English
And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.
فَاَوۡحَىٰۤ اِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهٖ مَاۤ اَوۡحٰىؕ
— Transliteration
Faawha ila AAabdihi maawha
فَاَوۡحٰۤى
fa-awḥā
So he revealed
تو اس نے وحی کی
الٰى
ilā
to
طرف
عَبۡدِهٖ
ʿabdihi
His slave
اس کے بندے کی
مَاۤ
mā
what
جو
اَوۡحٰىؕ
awḥā
he revealed
اس نے وحی کی۔ وحی پہنچائی
Urdu —
پس (اُس خاص مقامِ قُرب و وصال پر) اُس (اﷲ) نے اپنے عبدِ (محبوب) کی طرف وحی فرمائی جو (بھی) وحی فرمائیo
— English
And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed.
مَا كَذَبَ الۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَاٰى
— Transliteration
Ma kathaba alfu-adu maraa
مَا
mā
Not
نہیں
كَذَبَ
kadhaba
lied
جھوٹ بولا
الۡفُؤَادُ
l-fuādu
the heart
دل نے
مَا
mā
what
جو
رَاٰى
raā
it saw
اس نے دیکھا
Urdu —
(اُن کے) دل نے اُس کے خلاف نہیں جانا جو (اُن کی) آنکھوں نے دیکھاo
— English
The heart did not lie [about] what it saw.
اَفَتُمٰرُوۡنَهٗ عَلٰى مَا يَرٰى
— Transliteration
Afatumaroonahu AAala mayara
اَفَتُمٰرُوۡنَهٗ
afatumārūnahu
Then will you dispute with him
کیا پھر تم جھگڑتے ہو اس سے
عَلٰى
ʿalā
about
اوپر
مَا
mā
what
اس کے جو
يَرٰى
yarā
he saw
وہ دیکھتا ہے
Urdu —
کیا تم ان سے اِس پر جھگڑتے ہو کہ جو انہوں نے دیکھاo
— English
So will you dispute with him over what he saw?
وَلَقَدۡ رَاٰهُ نَزۡلَةً اُخۡرٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Walaqad raahu nazlatan okhra
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
اور البتہ تحقیق
رَاٰهُ
raāhu
he saw him
اس نے دیکھا اس کو
نَزۡلَةً
nazlatan
(in) descent
اترنا
اُخۡرٰىۙ
ukh'rā
another
ایک مرتبہ پھر
Urdu —
اور بیشک انہوں نے تو اُس (جلوۂ حق) کو دوسری مرتبہ (پھر) دیکھا (اور تم ایک بار دیکھنے پر ہی جھگڑ رہے ہو)٭o
— English
And he certainly saw him in another descent
عِنۡدَ سِدۡرَةِ الۡمُنۡتَهٰى
— Transliteration
AAinda sidrati almuntaha
عِنۡدَ
ʿinda
Near
پاس
سِدۡرَةِ
sid'rati
(the) Lote Tree
سدرۃ
الۡمُنۡتَهٰى
l-muntahā
(of) the utmost boundary
المنتہی کے
Urdu —
سِدرۃ المنتہٰی کے قریبo
— English
At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary -
عِنۡدَهَا جَنَّةُ الۡمَاۡوٰىؕ
— Transliteration
AAindaha jannatu alma/wa
عِنۡدَهَا
ʿindahā
Near it
اس کے پاس
جَنَّةُ
jannatu
(is the) Garden
جنت
الۡمَاۡوٰىؕ
l-mawā
(of) Abode
الماویٰ ہے
Urdu —
اسی کے پاس جنت الْمَاْوٰى ہےo
— English
Near it is the Garden of Refuge -
اِذۡ يَغۡشَى السِّدۡرَةَ مَا يَغۡشٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Ith yaghsha assidratama yaghsha
اِذۡ
idh
When
جب
يَغۡشَى
yaghshā
covered
چھا رہا تھا
السِّدۡرَةَ
l-sid'rata
the Lote Tree
سدرہ پر
مَا
mā
what
جو کچھ
يَغۡشٰىۙ
yaghshā
covers
چھا رہا تھا
Urdu —
جب نورِ حق کی تجلیّات سِدرَۃ (المنتہٰی) کو (بھی) ڈھانپ رہی تھیں جو کہ (اس پر) سایہ فگن تھیں٭o
— English
When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].
مَا زَاغَ الۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغٰى
— Transliteration
Ma zagha albasaru wamatagha
مَا
mā
Not
نہیں
زَاغَ
zāgha
swerved
کجی کی
الۡبَصَرُ
l-baṣaru
the sight
نگاہ نے
وَمَا
wamā
and not
اور نہ
طَغٰى
ṭaghā
it transgressed
وہ حد سے بڑھی
Urdu —
اُن کی آنکھ نہ کسی اور طرف مائل ہوئی اور نہ حد سے بڑھی (جس کو تکنا تھا اسی پر جمی رہی)o
— English
The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].
لَقَدۡ رَاٰى مِنۡ اٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِ الۡكُبۡرٰى
— Transliteration
Laqad raa min ayatirabbihi alkubra
لَقَدۡ
laqad
Certainly
البتہ تحقیق
رَاٰى
raā
he saw
اس نے دیکھیں
مِنۡ
min
of
میں سے
اٰيٰتِ
āyāti
(the) Signs
نشانیوں
رَبِّهِ
rabbihi
(of) his Lord
اپنے رب کی
الۡكُبۡرٰى
l-kub'rā
the Greatest
بڑی بڑی
Urdu —
بیشک انہوں نے (معراج کی شب) اپنے رب کی بڑی نشانیاں دیکھیںo
— English
He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.
اَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ اللّٰتَ وَالۡعُزّٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Afaraaytumu allata walAAuzza
اَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ
afara-aytumu
So have you seen
کیا پھر دیکھا تم نے
اللّٰتَ
l-lāta
the Lat
لات کو
وَالۡعُزّٰىۙ
wal-ʿuzā
and the Uzza,
اور عزی کو
Urdu —
کیا تم نے لات اور عزٰی (دیویوں) پر غور کیا ہےo
— English
So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza?
وَمَنٰوةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الۡاُخۡرٰى
— Transliteration
Wamanata aththalithataal-okhra
وَمَنٰوةَ
wamanata
And Manat
اور منات کو
الثَّالِثَةَ
l-thālithata
the third
تیسری
الۡاُخۡرٰى
l-ukh'rā
the other
ایک اور
Urdu —
اور اُس تیسری ایک اور (دیوی) منات کو بھی (غور سے دیکھا ہے؟ تم نے انہیں اﷲ کی بیٹیاں بنا رکھا ہے؟)o
— English
And Manat, the third - the other one?
اَلَـكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الۡاُنۡثٰى
— Transliteration
Alakumu aththakaru walahual-ontha
اَلَـكُمُ
alakumu
Is for you
کیا تمہارے لیے
الذَّكَرُ
l-dhakaru
the male
لڑکے ہیں
وَلَهُ
walahu
and for Him
اور اس کے لیے
الۡاُنۡثٰى
l-unthā
the female
لڑکیاں
Urdu —
(اے مشرکو!) کیا تمہارے لئے بیٹے ہیں اور اس (اﷲ) کے لئے بیٹیاں ہیںo
— English
Is the male for you and for Him the female?
تِلۡكَ اِذًا قِسۡمَةٌ ضِيۡزٰى
— Transliteration
Tilka ithan qismatun deeza
تِلۡكَ
til'ka
This,
یہ
اِذًا
idhan
then
تب
قِسۡمَةٌ
qis'matun
(is) a division
ایک تقسیم ہے
ضِيۡزٰى
ḍīzā
unfair
ظلم کی
Urdu —
(اگر تمہارا تصور درست ہے) تب تو یہ تقسیم بڑی ناانصافی ہےo
— English
That, then, is an unjust division.
اِنۡ هِىَ اِلَّاۤ اَسۡمَآءٌ سَمَّيۡتُمُوۡهَاۤ اَنۡتُمۡ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمۡ مَّاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا مِنۡ سُلۡطٰنٍؕ اِنۡ يَّتَّبِعُوۡنَ اِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى الۡاَنۡفُسُۚ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ مِّنۡ رَّبِّهِمُ الۡهُدٰىؕ
— Transliteration
In hiya illa asmaonsammaytumooha antum waabaokum maanzala Allahu biha min sultanin inyattabiAAoona illa aththanna wamatahwa al-anfusu walaqad jaahum min rabbihimu alhuda
اِنۡ
in
Not
نہیں
هِىَ
hiya
they
وہ
اِلَّاۤ
illā
(are) except
مگر
اَسۡمَآءٌ
asmāon
names
کچھ نام ہیں
سَمَّيۡتُمُوۡهَاۤ
sammaytumūhā
you have named them
نام رکھے تم نے ان کے
اَنۡتُمۡ
antum
you
تم نے
وَاٰبَآؤُكُمۡ
waābāukum
and your forefathers
اور تمہارے آباؤ اجداد نے
مَّاۤ
mā
not
نہیں
اَنۡزَلَ
anzala
has Allah sent down
نازل کی
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
has Allah sent down
اللہ نے
بِهَا
bihā
for it
ساتھ اس کے
مِنۡ
min
any
کوئی
سُلۡطٰنٍؕ
sul'ṭānin
authority
دلیل
اِنۡ
in
Not
نہیں
يَّتَّبِعُوۡنَ
yattabiʿūna
they follow
وہ پیروی کرتے
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الظَّنَّ
l-ẓana
assumption
گمان کی
وَمَا
wamā
and what
اور جو
تَهۡوَى
tahwā
desire
خواہش کرتے ہیں
الۡاَنۡفُسُۚ
l-anfusu
the(ir) souls
نفس
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
اور البتہ تحقیق
جَآءَهُمۡ
jāahum
has come to them
آئی ان کے پاس
مِّنۡ
min
from
طرف سے
رَّبِّهِمُ
rabbihimu
their Lord
ان کے رب کی
الۡهُدٰىؕ
l-hudā
the guidance
ہدایت
Urdu —
مگر (حقیقت یہ ہے کہ) وہ (بت) محض نام ہی نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے رکھ لئے ہیں۔ اﷲ نے ان کی نسبت کوئی دلیل نہیں اتاری، وہ لوگ محض وہم و گمان کی اور نفسانی خواہشات کی پیروی کر رہے ہیں حالانکہ اُن کے پاس اُن کے رب کی طرف سے ہدایت آچکی ہےo
— English
They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.
اَمۡ لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ مَا تَمَنّٰىۖ
— Transliteration
Am lil-insani ma tamanna
اَمۡ
am
Or
یا
لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ
lil'insāni
(is) for man
انسان کے لیے ہے
مَا
mā
what
جو
تَمَنّٰى ۖ
tamannā
he wishes
وہ تمنا کرے
Urdu —
کیا انسان کے لئے وہ (سب کچھ) میسّر ہے جس کی وہ تمنا کرتا ہےo
— English
Or is there for man whatever he wishes?
فَلِلّٰهِ الۡاٰخِرَةُ وَالۡاُوۡلٰى
— Transliteration
Falillahi al-akhiratu wal-oola
فَلِلّٰهِ
falillahi
But for Allah
تو اللہ کے لیے ہے
الۡاٰخِرَةُ
l-ākhiratu
(is) the last
پچھلی
وَالۡاُوۡلٰى
wal-ūlā
and the first
اور پہلی
Urdu —
پس آخرت اور دنیا کا مالک تو اﷲ ہی ہےo
— English
Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].
وَكَمۡ مِّنۡ مَّلَكٍ فِىۡ السَّمٰوٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِىۡ شَفٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيْئًا اِلَّا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ اَنۡ يَّاۡذَنَ اللّٰهُ لِمَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيَرۡضٰى
— Transliteration
Wakam min malakin fee assamawatila tughnee shafaAAatuhum shay-an illa minbaAAdi an ya/thana Allahu liman yashao wayarda
۞ وَكَمۡ
wakam
**And how many
اور کتنے ہی
مِّنۡ
min
of
میں
مَّلَكٍ
malakin
(the) Angels
فرشتے ہیں
فِى
fī
in
میں
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
آسمانوں
لَا
lā
not
نہ
تُغۡنِىۡ
tugh'nī
will avail
کام آئے گی
شَفَاعَتُهُمۡ
shafāʿatuhum
their intercession
ان کی سفارش
شَيۡــًٔــا
shayan
anything
کچھ بھی
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
مِنۡۢ
min
**after
اس کے
بَعۡدِ
baʿdi
after
بعد کہ
اَنۡ
an
[that]
يَّاۡذَنَ
yadhana
Allah has given permission
اجازت دے
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah has given permission
اللہ
لِمَنۡ
liman
for whom
جس کے لیے
يَّشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
چاہے اور
وَيَرۡضٰى
wayarḍā
and approves
وہ راضی ہوجائے
Urdu —
اور آسمانوں میں کتنے ہی فرشتے ہیں (کہ کفّار و مشرکین اُن کی عبادت کرتے اور ان سے شفاعت کی امید رکھتے ہیں) جِن کی شفاعت کچھ کام نہیں آئے گی مگر اس کے بعد کہ اﷲ جسے چاہتا ہے اور پسند فرماتا ہے اُس کے لئے اِذن (جاری) فرما دیتا ہےo
— English
And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.
اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِالۡاٰخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّوۡنَ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ الۡاُنۡثٰى
— Transliteration
Inna allatheena la yu/minoonabil-akhirati layusammoona almala-ikatatasmiyata al-ontha
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
یشک
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
وہ لوگ
لَا
lā
(do) not
نہیں
يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
yu'minūna
believe
جو ایمان لاتے
بِالۡاٰخِرَةِ
bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
آخرت پر
لَيُسَمُّوۡنَ
layusammūna
surely they name
البتہ وہ نام رکھتے ہیں
الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةَ
l-malāikata
the Angels
فرشتوں کے
تَسۡمِيَةَ
tasmiyata
name(s)
نام
الۡاُنۡثٰى
l-unthā
(of) female
عورتوں والے
Urdu —
بیشک جو لوگ آخرت پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے وہ فرشتوں کو عورتوں کے نام سے موسوم کر دیتے ہیںo
— English
Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,
وَمَا لَهُمۡ بِهٖ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍؕ اِنۡ يَّتَّبِعُوۡنَ اِلَّا الظَّنَّۚ وَاِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنَ الۡحَـقِّ شَيْئًا
— Transliteration
Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin inyattabiAAoona illa aththanna wa-innaaththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqishay-a
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
ان کے لیے
بِهٖ
bihi
about it
ساتھ اس کے
مِنۡ
min
any
کوئی
عِلۡمٍؕ
ʿil'min
knowledge
علم
اِنۡ
in
Not
نہیں
يَّتَّبِعُوۡنَ
yattabiʿūna
they follow
وہ پیروی کرتے
اِلَّا
illā
but
مگر
الظَّنَّۚ
l-ẓana
assumption
گمان کی
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
الظَّنَّ
l-ẓana
the assumption
گمان
لَا
lā
(does) not
نہیں
يُغۡنِىۡ
yugh'nī
avail
کام آتا
مِنَ
mina
against
سے
الۡحَـقِّ
l-ḥaqi
the truth
حق
شَيۡـًٔـاۚ
shayan
anything
کچھ بھی۔ کوئی چیز
Urdu —
اور انہیں اِس کا کچھ بھی علم نہیں ہے، وہ صرف گمان کے پیچھے چلتے ہیں، اور بیشک گمان یقین کے مقابلے میں کسی کام نہیں آتاo
— English
And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.
فَاَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡ مَّنۡ تَوَلّٰى ۙ عَنۡ ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ يُرِدۡ اِلَّا الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَاؕ
— Transliteration
FaaAArid AAan man tawalla AAanthikrina walam yurid illa alhayataaddunya
فَاَعۡرِضۡ
fa-aʿriḍ
So turn away
تو اعراض برتیئے
عَنۡ
ʿan
from
اس سے
مَّنۡ
man
(him) who
جو
تَوَلّٰى ۙ
tawallā
turns away
منہ موڑے
عَنۡ
ʿan
from
سے
ذِكۡرِنَا
dhik'rinā
Our Reminder
ہمارے ذکر
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
اور نہ
يُرِدۡ
yurid
he desires
چاہے وہ
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الۡحَيٰوةَ
l-ḥayata
the life
زندگی
الدُّنۡيَا ؕ
l-dun'yā

دنیا کی
Urdu —
سو آپ اپنی توجّہ اس سے ہٹا لیں جو ہماری یاد سے رُوگردانی کرتا ہے اور سوائے دنیوی زندگی کے اور کوئی مقصد نہیں رکھتاo
— English
So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life.
ذٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُمۡ مِّنَ الۡعِلۡمِؕ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَنۡ ضَلَّ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِهٖ ۙ وَهُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ اهۡتَدٰى
— Transliteration
Thalika mablaghuhum mina alAAilmiinna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihiwahuwa aAAlamu bimani ihtada
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
یہی
مَبۡلَـغُهُمۡ
mablaghuhum
(is) their sum
ان کی انتہا ہے
مِّنَ
mina
of
سے
الۡعِلۡمِؕ
l-ʿil'mi
knowledge
علم میں
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
رب تیرا
هُوَ
huwa
(is) He (Who)
وہ
اَعۡلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
زیادہ جانتا ہے
بِمَنۡ
biman
(he) who
اس کو جو
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
strays
بھٹک گیا
عَنۡ
ʿan
from
سے
سَبِيۡلِهٖ ۙ
sabīlihi
His Path
اس کے راستے
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
اور وہ
اَعۡلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
زیادہ جانتا ہے
بِمَنِ
bimani
(he) who
اس کو
اهۡتَدٰى
ih'tadā
is guided
جو ہدایت پا گیا
Urdu —
اُن لوگوں کے علم کی رسائی کی یہی حد ہے، بیشک آپ کا رب اس شخص کو (بھی) خوب جانتا ہے جو اُس کی راہ سے بھٹک گیا ہے اور اس شخص کو (بھی) خوب جانتا ہے جِس نے ہدایت پا لی ہےo
— English
That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.
وَلِلّٰهِ مَا فِىۡ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِۙ لِيَجۡزِىَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَسَآءُوۡا بِمَا عَمِلُوۡا وَيَجۡزِىَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَحۡسَنُوۡا بِالۡحُسۡنَىۚ
— Transliteration
Walillahi ma fee assamawatiwama fee al-ardi liyajziya allatheena asaoobima AAamiloo wayajziya allatheena ahsanoobilhusna
وَلِلّٰهِ
walillahi
And for Allah
اور اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے
مَا
mā
(is) whatever
جو کچھ
فِى
fī
(is) in
میں ہے
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
آسمانوں
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
اور جو کچھ
فِى
fī
(is) in
میں ہے
الۡاَرۡضِۙ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین
لِيَجۡزِىَ
liyajziya
that He may recompense
تاکہ بدلہ دے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں کو
اَسَآءُوۡا
asāū
do evil
جنہوں نے برا کیا
بِمَا
bimā
with what
ساتھ اس کے جو
عَمِلُوۡا
ʿamilū
they have done
انہوں نے کام کیے
وَيَجۡزِىَ
wayajziya
and recompense
اور جزا دے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں کو
اَحۡسَنُوۡا
aḥsanū
do od
جنہوں نے اچھا کیا
بِالۡحُسۡنٰى ۚ
bil-ḥus'nā
with the best
ساتھ بھلائی کے
Urdu —
اور اﷲ ہی کے لئے ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے تاکہ جن لوگوں نے برائیاں کیں انہیں اُن کے اعمال کا بدلہ دے اور جن لوگوں نے نیکیاں کیں انہیں اچھا اجر عطا فرمائےo
— English
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] -
اَلَّذِيۡنَ يَجۡتَنِبُوۡنَ كَبٰٓٮِٕرَ الۡاِثۡمِ وَالۡفوَاحِشَ اِلَّا اللَّمَمَؕ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الۡمَغۡفِرَةِؕ هُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ اِذۡ اَنۡشَاَكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَاِذۡ اَنۡتُمۡ اَجِنَّةٌ فِىۡ بُطُوۡنِ اُمَّهٰتِكُمۡۚ فَلَا تُزَكُّوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَكُمۡ ؕ هُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقٰى
— Transliteration
Allatheena yajtaniboona kaba-iraal-ithmi walfawahisha illa allamama innarabbaka wasiAAu almaghfirati huwa aAAlamu bikum ithanshaakum mina al-ardi wa-ith antum ajinnatun feebutooni ommahatikum fala tuzakkoo anfusakumhuwa aAAlamu bimani ittaqa
اَلَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
Those who
وہ لوگ
يَجۡتَنِبُوۡنَ
yajtanibūna
avoid
جو اجتناب برتتے ہیں
كَبٰٓٮِٕرَ
kabāira
great
بڑے سے
الۡاِثۡمِ
l-ith'mi
sins
گناہوں
وَالۡفوَاحِشَ
wal-fawāḥisha
and the immoralities
اور بےحیائی کی باتوں سے
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
اللَّمَمَؕ
l-lamama
the small faults
چھوٹے گناہ
اِنَّ
inna
indeed,
بیشک
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
رب تیرا
وَاسِعُ
wāsiʿu
(is) vast
وسیع
الۡمَغۡفِرَةِؕ
l-maghfirati
(in) forgiveness
مغفرت والا ہے
هُوَ
huwa
He
وہ
اَعۡلَمُ
aʿlamu
(is) most knowing about you
زیادہ جانتا ہے
بِكُمۡ
bikum
**(is) All-Knowing about you
تم کو
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
اَنۡشَاَكُمۡ
ansha-akum
He produced you
اس نے پیدا کیا تم کو
مِّنَ
mina
from
سے
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین
وَاِذۡ
wa-idh
and when
اور جب
اَنۡتُمۡ
antum
you were
تم
اَجِنَّةٌ
ajinnatun
fetuses
ناپختہ بچے تھے
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
بُطُوۡنِ
buṭūni
(the) wombs
پیٹوں کے
اُمَّهٰتِكُمۡۚ
ummahātikum
(of) your mothers
اپنی ماؤں
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
پس نہ
تُزَكُّوۡۤا
tuzakkū
ascribe purity
تم پاک ٹھہراؤ
اَنۡفُسَكُمۡ ؕ
anfusakum
(to) yourselves
اپنے نفسوں کو
هُوَ
huwa
He
وہ
اَعۡلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
زیادہ جانتا ہے
بِمَنِ
bimani
(he) who
اس کو جو
اتَّقٰى
ittaqā
fears
تقوی اختیار کرے
Urdu —
جو لوگ چھوٹے گناہوں (اور لغزشوں) کے سوا بڑے گناہوں اور بے حیائی کے کاموں سے پرہیز کرتے ہیں، بیشک آپ کا رب بخشش کی بڑی گنجائش رکھنے والا ہے، وہ تمہیں خوب جانتا ہے جب اس نے تمہاری زندگی کی ابتداء اور نشو و نما زمین (یعنی مٹی) سے کی تھی اور جبکہ تم اپنی ماؤں کے پیٹ میں جَنیِن (یعنی حمل) کی صورت میں تھے، پس تم اپنے آپ کو بڑا پاک و صاف مَت جتایا کرو، وہ خوب جانتا ہے کہ (اصل) پرہیزگار کون ہےo
— English
Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.
اَفَرَءَيۡتَ الَّذِىۡ تَوَلّٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Afaraayta allathee tawalla
اَفَرَءَيۡتَ
afara-ayta
Did you see
کیا بھلا دیکھا تم نے
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
the one who
اس شخص کو جو
تَوَلّٰىۙ
tawallā
turned away
منہ موڑ گیا
Urdu —
کیا آپ نے اس شخص کو دیکھا جس نے (حق سے) منہ پھیر لیاo
— English
Have you seen the one who turned away
وَاَعۡطٰى قَلِيۡلاً وَّاَكۡدٰى
— Transliteration
WaaAAta qaleelan waakda
وَاَعۡطٰى
wa-aʿṭā
And gave
اور اس نے دیا
قَلِيۡلًا
qalīlan
a little
تھوڑا سا
وَّاَكۡدٰى
wa-akdā
and withheld
اور بند کردیا
Urdu —
اور اس نے (راہِ حق میں) تھوڑا سا (مال) دیا اور (پھر ہاتھ) روک لیاo
— English
And gave a little and [then] refrained?
اَعِنۡدَهٗ عِلۡمُ الۡغَيۡبِ فَهُوَ يَرٰى
— Transliteration
aAAindahu AAilmu alghaybi fahuwa yara
اَعِنۡدَهٗ
aʿindahu
Is with him
کیا اس کے پاس
عِلۡمُ
ʿil'mu
(the) knowledge
علم
الۡغَيۡبِ
l-ghaybi
(of) the unseen
غیب ہے
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
so he
تو وہ
يَرٰى
yarā
sees
دیکھ رہا ہے
Urdu —
کیا اس کے پاس غیب کا علم ہے کہ وہ دیکھ رہا ہےo
— English
Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees?
اَمۡ لَمۡ يُنَبَّاۡ بِمَا فِىۡ صُحُفِ مُوۡسٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Am lam yunabba/ bima fee suhufimoosa
اَمۡ
am
Or
یا
لَمۡ
lam
not
نہیں
يُنَبَّاۡ
yunabba
he was informed
خبر دیا گیا۔ آگاہ کیا گیا
بِمَا
bimā
with what
ساتھ اس کے جو
فِىۡ
fī
(was) in
میں ہے
صُحُفِ
ṣuḥufi
(the) Scriptures
صحیفوں
مُوۡسٰىۙ
mūsā
(of) Musa,
موسیٰ کے
Urdu —
کیا اُسے اُن (باتوں) کی خبر نہیں دی گئی جو موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کے صحیفوں میں (مذکور) تھیںo
— English
Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses
وَاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ الَّذِىۡ وَفّٰىٓ ۙ
— Transliteration
Wa-ibraheema allathee waffa
وَاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ
wa-ib'rāhīma
And Ibrahim
اور ابراہیم
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
who
جس نے
وَفّٰىٓ ۙ
waffā
fulfilled
وفا کی
Urdu —
اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے (صحیفوں میں تھیں) جنہوں نے (اﷲ کے ہر امر کو) بتمام و کمال پورا کیاo
— English
And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] -
اَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِّزۡرَ اُخۡرٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Alla taziru waziratun wizraokhra
اَلَّا
allā
That not
کہ نہیں
تَزِرُ
taziru
will bear
بوجھ اٹھائے گا
وَازِرَةٌ
wāziratun
a bearer of burdens
کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والا
وِّزۡرَ
wiz'ra
(the) burden
بوجھ
اُخۡرٰىۙ
ukh'rā
(of) another
کسی دوسرے کا
Urdu —
کہ کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والا کسی دوسرے (کے گناہوں) کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھائے گاo
— English
That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another
وَاَنۡ لَّيۡسَ لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ اِلَّا مَا سَعٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waan laysa lil-insani illa masaAAa
وَاَنۡ
wa-an
And that
اور یہ کہ
لَّيۡسَ
laysa
is not
نہیں
لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ
lil'insāni
for man
انسان کے لیے
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
مَا
mā
what
جو
سَعٰىۙ
saʿā
he strives (for)
اس نے کوشش کی
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ انسان کو (عدل میں) وہی کچھ ملے گا جس کی اُس نے کوشش کی ہوگی (رہا فضل اس پر کسی کا حق نہیں وہ محض اﷲ کی عطاء و رضا ہے جس پر جتنا چاہے کر دے)o
— English
And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives
وَاَنَّ سَعۡيَهٗ سَوۡفَ يُرٰى
— Transliteration
Waanna saAAyahu sawfa yura
وَاَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
اور یہ کہ
سَعۡيَهٗ
saʿyahu
his striving
اس کی کوشش
سَوۡفَ
sawfa
will soon
عنقریب
يُرٰى
yurā
be seen
دیکھی جائے گی
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ اُس کی ہر کوشش عنقریب دکھا دی جائے گی (یعنی ظاہر کر دی جائے گی)o
— English
And that his effort is going to be seen -
ثُمَّ يُجۡزٰٮهُ الۡجَزَآءَ الۡاَوۡفٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Thumma yujzahu aljazaa al-awfa
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
پھر
يُجۡزٰٮهُ
yuj'zāhu
he will be recompensed for it
بدلہ دیا جائے گا اس کو
الۡجَزَآءَ
l-jazāa
the recompense
بدلہ
الۡاَوۡفٰىۙ
l-awfā
the fullest
پورا پورا
Urdu —
پھر اُسے (اُس کی ہر کوشش کا) پورا پورا بدلہ دیا جائے گاo
— English
Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense
وَاَنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الۡمُنۡتَهٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waanna ila rabbika almuntaha
وَاَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
اور بیشک
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
تیرے رب کی
الۡمُنۡتَهٰىۙ
l-muntahā
(is) the final al
پہنچنا ہے۔ انتہا ہے
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ (بالآخر سب کو) آپ کے رب ہی کی طرف پہنچنا ہےo
— English
And that to your Lord is the finality
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَضۡحَكَ وَاَبۡكٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waannahu huwa adhaka waabka
وَاَنَّهٗ
wa-annahu
And that He
اور بیشک اس نے
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
وہی ہے
اَضۡحَكَ
aḍḥaka
makes (one) laugh
جس نے ہنسایا
وَاَبۡكٰىۙ
wa-abkā
and makes (one) weep
اور رلایا
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ وہی (خوشی دے کر) ہنساتا ہے اور (غم دے کر) رُلاتا ہےo
— English
And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَمَاتَ وَاَحۡيَاۙ
— Transliteration
Waannahu huwa amata waahya
وَاَنَّهٗ
wa-annahu
And that He
اور بیشک وہ
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
وہی ہے
اَمَاتَ
amāta
causes death
جس نے موت دی
وَ اَحۡيَا ۙ
wa-aḥyā
and gives life
اور زندہ کیا
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ وہی مارتا ہے اور جِلاتا ہےo
— English
And that it is He who causes death and gives life
وَاَنَّهٗ خَلَقَ الزَّوۡجَيۡنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالۡاُنۡثٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waannahu khalaqa azzawjayni aththakarawal-ontha
وَاَنَّهٗ
wa-annahu
And that He
اور بیشک وہی ہے
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
جس نے پیدا کیا
الزَّوۡجَيۡنِ
l-zawjayni
the pairs
جوڑوں کو
الذَّكَرَ
l-dhakara
the male
نر
وَالۡاُنۡثٰىۙ
wal-unthā
and the female
اور مادہ (کی شکل میں)
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ اُسی نے نَر اور مادہ دو قِسموں کو پیدا کیاo
— English
And that He creates the two mates - the male and female -
مِنۡ نُّطۡفَةٍ اِذَا تُمۡنٰى
— Transliteration
Min nutfatin itha tumna
مِنۡ
min
From
سے
نُّطۡفَةٍ
nuṭ'fatin
a semen-drop
نطفے
اِذَا
idhā
when
جب
تُمۡنٰى
tum'nā
it is emitted
وہ ٹپکایا جاتا ہے
Urdu —
نطفہ (ایک تولیدی قطرہ) سے جبکہ وہ (رَحمِ مادہ میں) ٹپکایا جاتا ہےo
— English
From a sperm-drop when it is emitted
وَاَنَّ عَلَيۡهِ النَّشۡاَةَ الۡاُخۡرٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waanna AAalayhi annash-ata al-okhra
وَاَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
اور بیشک
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
upon Him
اس پر ہے
النَّشۡاَةَ
l-nashata
(is) the bringing forth
جی اٹھنا
الۡاُخۡرٰىۙ
l-ukh'rā
another
دوسری دفعہ
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ (مرنے کے بعد) دوبارہ زندہ کرنا (بھی) اسی پر ہےo
— English
And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَغۡنَىٰ وَاَقۡنٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waannahu huwa aghna waaqna
وَاَنَّهٗ
wa-annahu
And that He
اور بیشک وہ
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
وہی ہے
اَغۡنٰى
aghnā
enriches
جس نے غنی کیا
وَ اَقۡنٰىۙ
wa-aqnā
and suffices
اور جائیداد بخشی۔ دولت مند کیا
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ وہی (بقدرِ ضرورت دے کر) غنی کر دیتا ہے اور وہی (ضرورت سے زائد دے کر) خزانے بھر دیتا ہےo
— English
And that it is He who enriches and suffices
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعۡرٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waannahu huwa rabbu ashshiAAra
وَاَنَّهٗ
wa-annahu
And that He
اور بیشک وہ
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
وہی
رَبُّ
rabbu
(is the) Lord
رب ہے
الشِّعۡرٰىۙ
l-shiʿ'rā
(of) Sirius
شعری (ستارے) کا
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ وہی شِعرٰی (ستارے) کا رب ہے (جس کی دورِ جاہلیت میں پوجا کی جاتی تھی)o
— English
And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius
وَاَنَّهٗۤ اَهۡلَكَ عَادًا اۨلۡاُوۡلٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Waannahu ahlaka AAadan al-oola
وَاَنَّهٗۤ
wa-annahu
And that He
اور بیشک وہی ہے
اَهۡلَكَ
ahlaka
destroyed
جس نے ہلاک کیا
عَادَا۟
ʿādan
Aad
عاد
اۨلۡـٮُٔـوْلٰى ۙ
l-ūlā
the first
اولیٰ کو
Urdu —
اور یہ کہ اسی نے پہلی (قومِ) عاد کو ہلاک کیاo
— English
And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad
وَثَمُوۡدَا۟ فَمَاۤ اَبۡقٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Wathamooda fama abqa
وَثَمُوۡدَا۟
wathamūdā
And Thamud,
اور ثمود کو
فَمَاۤ
famā
so not
پس نہ کچھ
اَبۡقٰىۙ
abqā
He spared
باقی چھوڑا
Urdu —
اور (قومِ) ثمود کو (بھی)، پھر (ان میں سے کسی کو) باقی نہ چھوڑاo
— English
And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] -
وَقَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُؕ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا هُمۡ اَظۡلَمَ وَاَطۡغٰىؕ
— Transliteration
Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoohum athlama waatgha
وَقَوۡمَ
waqawma
And (the) people
اور قوم
نُوۡحٍ
nūḥin
(of) Nuh
نوح کو
مِّنۡ
min
**before.
اس سے
قَبۡلُؕ
qablu
before
قبل
اِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed, they
بیشک وہ
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they were
تھے وہ
هُمۡ
hum
**they were
وہ
اَظۡلَمَ
aẓlama
more unjust
زیادہ ظالم
وَاَطۡغٰىؕ
wa-aṭghā
and more rebellious
اور زیادہ سرکش
Urdu —
اور اس سے پہلے قومِ نوح کو (بھی ہلاک کیا)، بیشک وہ بڑے ہی ظالم اور بڑے ہی سرکش تھےo
— English
And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing.
وَالۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ اَهۡوٰىۙ
— Transliteration
Walmu/tafikata ahwa
وَالۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ
wal-mu'tafikata
And the overturned cities
اور اوندھی گرنے والی بستیاں
اَهۡوٰىۙ
ahwā
He overthrew
اس نے ان کو اوپر سے نیچے دے مارا
Urdu —
اور (قومِ لُوط کی) الٹی ہوئی بستیوں کو (اوپر اٹھا کر) اُسی نے نیچے دے پٹکاo
— English
And the overturned towns He hurled down
فَغَشّٰٮهَا مَا غَشّٰىۚ
— Transliteration
Faghashshaha ma ghashsha
فَغَشّٰٮهَا
faghashāhā
So covered them
تو ڈھانکا اس کو
مَا
mā
what
جس چیز نے
غَشّٰىۚ
ghashā
covered
ڈھانکا
Urdu —
پس اُن کو ڈھانپ لیا جس نے ڈھانپ لیا (یعنی پھر اُن پر پتھروں کی بارش کر دی گئی)o
— English
And covered them by that which He covered.
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارٰى
— Transliteration
Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbika tatamara
فَبِاَىِّ
fabi-ayyi
Then which (of)
پس کون سی
اٰلَاۤءِ
ālāi
the Favors
نعمتوں کے ساتھ
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
اپنے رب کی
تَتَمَارٰى
tatamārā
will you doubt
تم جھگڑتے ہو
Urdu —
سو (اے انسان!) تو اپنے پروردگار کی کن کن نعمتوں میں شک کرے گاo
— English
Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?
هٰذَا نَذِيۡرٌ مِّنَ النُّذُرِ الۡاُوۡلٰٓى
— Transliteration
Hatha natheerun mina annuthurial-oola
هٰذَا
hādhā
This
یہ
نَذِيۡرٌ
nadhīrun
(is) a warner
ایک ڈراوا ہے
مِّنَ
mina
from
میں سے
النُّذُرِ
l-nudhuri
the warners
ڈراووں
الۡاُوۡلٰٓى
l-ūlā
the former
پہلے
Urdu —
یہ (رسولِ اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم بھی) اگلے ڈر سنانے والوں میں سے ایک ڈر سنانے والے ہیںo
— English
This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners.
اَزِفَتِ الۡاٰزِفَةُۚ
— Transliteration
Azifati al-azifat
اَزِفَتِ
azifati
Has approached
نزدیک آگئی
الۡاٰزِفَةُۚ
l-āzifatu
the Approaching Day
نزدیک آنے والی
Urdu —
آنے والی (قیامت کی گھڑی) قریب آپہنچیo
— English
The Approaching Day has approached.
لَيۡسَ لَهَا مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ كَاشِفَةٌؕ
— Transliteration
Laysa laha min dooni Allahi kashifat
لَيۡسَ
laysa
Not is
نہیں
لَهَا
lahā
for it
اس کے لیے
مِنۡ
min
**besides
دُوۡنِ
dūni
besides
سوا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
كَاشِفَةٌ ؕ
kāshifatun
any remover
کوئی ہٹانے والی
Urdu —
اﷲ کے سوا اِسے کوئی ظاہر (اور قائم) کرنے والا نہیں ہےo
— English
Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover.
اَفَمِنۡ هٰذَا الۡحَدِيۡثِ تَعۡجَبُوۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Afamin hatha alhadeethitaAAjaboon
اَفَمِنۡ
afamin
Then of
کیا بھلا
هٰذَا
hādhā
this
اس
الۡحَدِيۡثِ
l-ḥadīthi
statement
بات سے
تَعۡجَبُوۡنَۙ
taʿjabūna
you wonder
تم تعجب کرتے ہو
Urdu —
پس کیا تم اس کلام سے تعجب کرتے ہوo
— English
Then at this statement do you wonder?
وَتَضۡحَكُوۡنَ وَلَا تَبۡكُوۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Watadhakoona wala tabkoon
وَتَضۡحَكُوۡنَ
wataḍḥakūna
And you laugh
اور تم ہنستے ہو
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
اور نہیں
تَبۡكُوۡنَۙ
tabkūna
weep
تم روتے ہو
Urdu —
اور تم ہنستے ہو اور روتے نہیں ہوo
— English
And you laugh and do not weep
وَاَنۡتُمۡ سٰمِدُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Waantum samidoon
وَاَنۡتُمۡ
wa-antum
While you
اور تم
سٰمِدُوۡنَ
sāmidūna
amuse (yourselves)
غفلت میں رہتے ہو۔ گاتے بجاتے ہو
Urdu —
اور تم (غفلت کی) کھیل میں پڑے ہوo
— English
While you are proudly sporting?
فَاسۡجُدُوۡا لِلّٰهِ وَاعۡبُدُوۡا ۩
— Transliteration
Fasjudoo lillahi waAAbudoo
فَاسۡجُدُوۡا
fa-us'judū
So prostrate
پس سجدہ کرو
لِلّٰهِ
lillahi
to Allah
اللہ کے لیے
وَاعۡبُدُوۡا ۩
wa-uʿ'budū
and worship (Him)
اور عبادت کرو
Urdu —
سو اﷲ کے لئے سجدہ کرو اور (اُس کی) عبادت کروo
— English
So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him].
