وَالذّٰرِيٰتِ ذَرۡوًاۙ
— Transliteration
Waththariyati tharwa
وَالذّٰرِيٰتِ
wal-dhāriyāti
By those scattering
قسم ہے ان ہواؤں کی جو گرد اڑانے والی ہیں
ذَرۡوًا ۙ
dharwan
dispersing
گرد اڑانا
Urdu —
اُڑا کر بکھیر دینے والی ہواؤں کی قَسمo
— English
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing
فَالۡحٰمِلٰتِ وِقۡرًاۙ
— Transliteration
Falhamilati wiqra
فَالۡحٰمِلٰتِ
fal-ḥāmilāti
And those carrying
پھر اٹھانے والیاں ہیں
وِقۡرًا ۙ
wiq'ran
a load
بوجھ کو
Urdu —
اور (پانی کا) بارِگراں اٹھانے والی بدلیوں کی قَسمo
— English
And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water]
فَالۡجٰرِيٰتِ يُسۡرًاۙ
— Transliteration
Faljariyati yusra
فَالۡجٰرِيٰتِ
fal-jāriyāti
And those sailing
پھر چلنے والیاں ہیں
يُسۡرًا ۙ
yus'ran
(with) ease
آسانی کے ساتھ
Urdu —
اور خراماں خراماں چلنے والی کشتیوں کی قَسمo
— English
And those [ships] sailing with ease
فَالۡمُقَسِّمٰتِ اَمۡرًاۙ
— Transliteration
Falmuqassimati amra
فَالۡمُقَسِّمٰتِ
fal-muqasimāti
And those distributing
پھر تقسیم کرنے والے۔ پھر تقسیم کرنے والیاں ہیں
اَمۡرًا ۙ
amran
Command
کام کو
Urdu —
اور کام تقسیم کرنے والے فرشتوں کی قَسمo
— English
And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter,
اِنَّمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لَصَادِقٌۙ
— Transliteration
Innama tooAAadoona lasadiq
اِنَّمَا
innamā
Indeed, what
بیشک جو
تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ
tūʿadūna
you are promised
تم وعدہ کیے جاتے ہو
لَصَادِقٌ ۙ
laṣādiqun
(is) surely true
البتہ سچا ہے
Urdu —
بیشک (آخرت کا) جو وعدہ تم سے کیا جا رہا ہے بالکل سچا ہےo
— English
Indeed, what you are promised is true.
وَّاِنَّ الدِّيۡنَ لوَاقِعٌؕ
— Transliteration
Wa-inna addeena lawaqiAA
وَّاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
الدِّيۡنَ
l-dīna
the Judgment
جزائے اعمال
لوَاقِعٌ ؕ
lawāqiʿun
(is) surely to occur
البتہ واقع ہونے والی ہے
Urdu —
اور بیشک (اعمال کی) جزا و سزا ضرور واقع ہو کر رہے گیo
— English
And indeed, the recompense is to occur.
وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الۡحُـبُكِۙ
— Transliteration
Wassama-i thati alhubuk
وَالسَّمَآءِ
wal-samāi
By the heaven
قسم ہے آسمان کی
ذَاتِ
dhāti
full of
والے
الۡحُـبُكِ ۙ
l-ḥubuki
pathways
راستوں (والے)
Urdu —
اور (ستاروں اور سیّاروں کی) کہکشاؤں اور گزرگاہوں والے آسمان کی قَسمo
— English
By the heaven containing pathways,
اِنَّكُمۡ لَفِىۡ قَوۡلٍ مُّخۡتَلِفٍۙ
— Transliteration
Innakum lafee qawlin mukhtalif
اِنَّـكُمۡ
innakum
Indeed, you
بیشک تم
لَفِىۡ
lafī
(are) surely in
البتہ میں ہو
قَوۡلٍ
qawlin
a speech
ایک بات
مُّخۡتَلِفٍ ۙ
mukh'talifin
differing
جو مختلف ہے
Urdu —
بیشک تم مختلف بے جوڑ باتوں میں (پڑے) ہوo
— English
Indeed, you are in differing speech.
يُؤۡفَكُ عَنۡهُ مَنۡ اُفِكَؕ
— Transliteration
Yu/faku AAanhu man ofik
يُّـؤۡفَكُ
yu'faku
Deluded away
پھیرا جاتا ہے
عَنۡهُ
ʿanhu
from it
اس سے
مَنۡ
man
(is he) who
جو
اُفِكَ ؕ
ufika
is deluded
پھرایا جائے
Urdu —
اِس (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور قرآن سے) وہی پھرتا ہے جِسے (علمِ ازلی سے) پھیر دیا گیاo
— English
Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded.
قُتِلَ الۡخَـرّٰصُوۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Qutila alkharrasoon
قُتِلَ
qutila
Cursed be
مارے گئے
الۡخَـرّٰصُوۡنَۙ
l-kharāṣūna
the liars
اندازے لگانے والے
Urdu —
ظنّ و تخمین سے جھوٹ بولنے والے ہلاک ہو گئےo
— English
Destroyed are the falsifiers
الَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ فِىۡ غَمۡرَةٍ سَاهُوۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Allatheena hum fee ghamratin sahoon
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
Those who
یہ لوگ
هُمۡ
hum
[they]
وہ ہیں
فِىۡ
fī
(are) in
میں
غَمۡرَةٍ
ghamratin
flood
جو غفلت (میں)
سَاهُوۡنَۙ
sāhūna
(of) heedlessness
بھولے ہوئے ہیں
Urdu —
جو جہالت و غفلت میں (آخرت کو) بھول جانے والے ہیںo
— English
Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless.
يَسۡـَٔــلُوۡنَ اَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ الدِّيۡنِؕ
— Transliteration
Yas-aloona ayyana yawmu addeen
يَسۡـَٔــلُوۡنَ
yasalūna
They ask
وہ سوال کرتے ہیں
اَيَّانَ
ayyāna
`When
کب ہوگا
يَوۡمُ

(is the) Day
دن
الدِّيۡنِؕ
l-dīni
(of) Judgment
جزا سزا کا
Urdu —
پوچھتے ہیں یومِ جزا کب ہو گا؟o
— English
They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"
يَوۡمَ هُمۡ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفۡتَنُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Yawma hum AAala annariyuftanoon
يَوۡمَ

A Day
اس روز
هُمۡ

عَلَى

النَّارِ

the Fire
آگ
يُفۡتَنُوۡنَ

will be tried
تپائے جائیں گے

(فرما دیجئے:) اُس دن (ہوگا جب) وہ آتشِ دوزخ میں تپائے جائیں گےo
— English
[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire
ذُوۡقُوۡا فِتۡنَتَكُمۡؕ هٰذَا الَّذِىۡ كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Thooqoo fitnatakum hatha allatheekuntum bihi tastaAAjiloon
ذُوۡقُوۡا
dhūqū
Taste
چکھو
فِتۡنَتَكُمۡؕ
fit'natakum
your trial
اپنی گمراہی کو۔ اپنے عذاب کو
هٰذَا
hādhā
This
یہ
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
(is) what
وہ چیز ہے
كُنۡتُمۡ
kuntum
you were
تھے تم
بِهٖ
bihi
for it
ساتھ اس کے
تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ
tastaʿjilūna
seeking to hasten
تم جلدی مچاتے
Urdu —
(اُن سے کہا جائے گا:) اپنی سزا کا مزہ چکھو، یہی وہ عذاب ہے جسے تم جلدی مانگتے ہوo
— English
[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient."
اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ فِىۡ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوۡنٍۙ
— Transliteration
Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwaAAuyoon
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ
l-mutaqīna
the righteous
متقی لوگ
فِىۡ
fī
(will be) in
میں
جَنّٰتٍ
jannātin
Gardens
باغات (میں)
وَّعُيُوۡنٍۙ
waʿuyūnin
and springs
اور چشموں میں ہوں گے
Urdu —
بیشک پرہیزگار باغوں اور چشموں میں (لطف اندوز ہوتے) ہوں گےo
— English
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,
اٰخِذِيۡنَ مَاۤ اٰتٰٮهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡؕ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا قَبۡلَ ذٰلِكَ مُحۡسِنِيۡنَؕ
— Transliteration
Akhitheena ma atahumrabbuhum innahum kanoo qabla thalika muhsineen
اٰخِذِيۡنَ
ākhidhīna
Taking
لینے والے ہوں گے
مَاۤ
mā
what
جو
اٰتٰٮهُمۡ
ātāhum
their Lord has given them
دے گا ان کو
رَبُّهُمۡؕ
rabbuhum
their Lord has given them
ان کا رب
اِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed, they
بیشک وہ
كَانُوۡا
kānū
were
تھے وہ
قَبۡلَ
qabla
before
قبل
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
اس سے
مُحۡسِنِيۡنَؕ
muḥ'sinīna
good-doers
نیکو کار
Urdu —
اُن نعمتوں کو (کیف و سرور) سے لیتے ہوں گے جو اُن کا رب انہیں (لطف و کرم سے) دیتا ہوگا، بیشک یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو اس سے قبل (کی زندگی میں) صاحبانِ احسان تھےo
— English
Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.
كَانُوۡا قَلِيۡلاً مِّنَ الَّيۡلِ مَا يَهۡجَعُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Kanoo qaleelan mina allayli mayahjaAAoon
كَانُوۡا
kānū
They used to
تھے وہ
قَلِيۡلًا
qalīlan
little
کم ہی
مِّنَ
mina
of
سے
الَّيۡلِ
al-layli
the night
رات میں (سے)
مَا
mā
[what]
جو
يَهۡجَعُوۡنَ
yahjaʿūna
sleep
وہ سوتے تھے
Urdu —
وہ راتوں کو تھوڑی سی دیر سویا کرتے تھےo
— English
They used to sleep but little of the night,
وَبِالۡاَسۡحَارِ هُمۡ يَسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wabil-ashari humyastaghfiroon
وَبِالۡاَسۡحَارِ
wabil-asḥāri
And in the hours before dawn
اور سحری کے وقت
هُمۡ
hum
they
وہ
يَسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡنَ
yastaghfirūna
would ask forgiveness
استغفار کرتے تھے
Urdu —
اور رات کے پچھلے پہروں میں (اٹھ اٹھ کر) مغفرت طلب کرتے تھےo
— English
And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,
وَفِىۡۤ اَمۡوَالِهِمۡ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآٮِٕلِ وَالۡمَحۡرُوۡمِ
— Transliteration
Wafee amwalihim haqqun lissa-iliwalmahroom
وَفِىۡۤ
wafī
And in
اور میں
اَمۡوَالِهِمۡ
amwālihim
their wealth
ان کے مالوں (میں)
حَقٌّ
ḥaqqun
(was the) right
حق تھا
لِّلسَّآٮِٕلِ
lilssāili
(of) those who asked
سوالی کے لیے
وَالۡمَحۡرُوۡمِ
wal-maḥrūmi
and the deprived
اور محروم کے لیے
Urdu —
اور اُن کے اموال میں سائل اور محروم (سب حاجت مندوں) کا حق مقرر تھاo
— English
And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.
وَفِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ اٰيٰتٌ لِّلۡمُوۡقِنِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Wafee al-ardi ayatunlilmooqineen
وَفِى
wafī
And in
اور میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین (میں)
اٰيٰتٌ
āyātun
(are) signs
کئی نشانیاں ہیں
لِّلۡمُوۡقِنِيۡنَۙ
lil'mūqinīna
for those who are certain
یقین کرنے والوں کے لیے
Urdu —
اور زمین میں صاحبانِ ایقان (یعنی کامل یقین والوں) کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں ہیںo
— English
And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]
وَفِىۡۤ اَنۡفُسِكُمۡؕ اَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wafee anfusikum afala tubsiroon
وَفِىۡۤ
wafī
And in
اور میں
اَنۡفُسِكُمۡؕ
anfusikum
yourselves
تمہارے نفسوں (میں) بھی
اَفَلَا
afalā
Then will not
کیا بھلا نہیں
تُبۡصِرُوۡنَ
tub'ṣirūna
you see
تم دیکھتے
Urdu —
اور خود تمہارے نفوس میں (بھی ہیں)، سو کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں ہوo
— English
And in yourselves. Then will you not see?
وَفِىۡ السَّمَآءِ رِزۡقُكُمۡ وَمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wafee assama-i rizqukum wamatooAAadoon
وَفِى
wafī
And in
اور میں
السَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the heaven
آسمان
رِزۡقُكُمۡ
riz'qukum
(is) your provision
رزق ہے تمہارا
وَمَا
wamā
and what
اور جو
تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ
tūʿadūna
you are promised
تم وعدہ کیے جاتے ہو
Urdu —
اور آسمان میں تمہارا رِزق (بھی) ہے اور وہ (سب کچھ بھی) جس کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہےo
— English
And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.
فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَآءِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ اِنَّهٗ لَحَـقٌّ مِّثۡلَ مَاۤ اَنَّكُمۡ تَنۡطِقُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fawarabbi assama-i wal-ardiinnahu lahaqqun mithla ma annakum tantiqoon
فَوَرَبِّ
fawarabbi
Then by (the) Lord
پس قسم ہے رب کی
السَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
(of) the heaven
آسمانوں کے
وَالۡاَرۡضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
اور زمین کے
اِنَّهٗ
innahu
indeed, it
بیشک وہ
لَحَـقٌّ
laḥaqqun
(is) surely (the) truth
البتہ حق ہے
مِّثۡلَ
mith'la
(just) as
مانند اس کے
مَاۤ
mā
[what]
جو
اَنَّكُمۡ
annakum
you
بیشک تم
تَنۡطِقُوۡنَ
tanṭiqūna
speak
تم بولتے ہو
Urdu —
پس آسمان اور زمین کے مالک کی قَسم! یہ (ہمارا وعدہ) اسی طرح یقینی ہے جس طرح تمہارا اپنا بولنا (تمہیں اس پر کامل یقین ہوتا ہے کہ منہ سے کیا کہہ رہے ہو)o
— English
Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.
هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيۡثُ ضَيۡفِ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ الۡمُكۡرَمِيۡنَۘ
— Transliteration
Hal ataka hadeethu dayfiibraheema almukrameen
هَلۡ
hal
Has
کیا
اَتٰٮكَ
atāka
reached you
آئی تیرے پاس
حَدِيۡثُ
ḥadīthu
(the) narration
بات
ضَيۡفِ
ḍayfi
(of the) guests
مہمانوں کی
اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ
ib'rāhīma
(of) Ibrahim
ابراہیم کے
الۡمُكۡرَمِيۡنَۘ
l-muk'ramīna
the honored
معزز۔ عزت والے
Urdu —
کیا آپ کے پاس ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے معزّز مہمانوں کی خبر پہنچی ہےo
— English
Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? -
اِذۡ دَخَلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُوۡا سَلٰمًاؕ قَالَ سَلٰمٌ ۚ قَوۡمٌ مُّنۡكَرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloosalaman qala salamun qawmun munkaroon
اِذۡ

When

دَخَلُوۡا

they entered
وہ داخل ہوئے
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
upon him
اس پر
فَقَالُوۡا
faqālū
and said
تو انہوں نے کہا
سَلٰمًاؕ

Peace
سلام
قَالَ
qāla
He said
کہا
سَلٰمٌ ۚ
salāmun
Peace
سلام
قَوۡمٌ
qawmun
a people
ایک قوم ہو
مُّنۡكَرُوۡنَ
munkarūna
unknown
نا آشنا۔ انجانے
Urdu —
جب وہ (فرشتے) اُن کے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے سلام پیش کیا، ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے بھی (جواباً) سلام کہا، (ساتھ ہی دل میں سوچنے لگے کہ) یہ اجنبی لوگ ہیںo
— English
When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown.
فَرَاغَ اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهٖ فَجَآءَ بِعِجۡلٍ سَمِيۡنٍۙ
— Transliteration
Faragha ila ahlihi fajaabiAAijlin sameen
فَرَاغَ
farāgha
Then he went
پھر وہ گیا
اِلٰٓى
ilā
to
طرف
اَهۡلِهٖ
ahlihi
his household
اپنے گھر والوں کی (طرف)
فَجَآءَ
fajāa
and came
پھر لے آیا
بِعِجۡلٍ
biʿij'lin
with a calf
ایک بچھڑا (بھنا ہوا)
سَمِيۡنٍۙ
samīnin
fat
موٹا تازہ
Urdu —
پھر جلدی سے اپنے گھر کی طرف گئے اور ایک فربہ بچھڑے کی سجّی لے آئےo
— English
Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf
فَقَرَّبَهٗۤ اِلَيۡهِمۡ قَالَ اَلَا تَاۡكُلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Faqarrabahu ilayhim qala alata/kuloon
فَقَرَّبَهٗۤ
faqarrabahu
And he placed it near
پھر اس نے قریب کیا اس کو
اِلَيۡهِمۡ
ilayhim
[to] them
ان کی طرف
قَالَ
qāla
he said
کہا
اَلَا
alā
`Will not
کیا نہیں
تَاۡكُلُوۡنَ
takulūna
you eat
تم کھاتے ہو ؟۔ کیا تم کھاؤ گے نہیں ؟
Urdu —
پھر اسے ان کے سامنے پیش کر دیا، فرمانے لگے: کیا تم نہیں کھاؤ گےo
— English
And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?"
فَاَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِيۡفَةً ؕ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ ؕ وَبَشَّرُوۡهُ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِيۡمٍ
— Transliteration
Faawjasa minhum kheefatan qaloo latakhaf wabashsharoohu bighulamin AAaleem
فَاَوۡجَسَ
fa-awjasa
Then he felt
تو اس نے محسوس کیا
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
from them
ان سے
خِيۡفَةً ؕ
khīfatan
a fear
خوف
قَالُوۡا
qālū
They said
انہوں نے کہا
لَا
lā
`(Do) not
نہ
تَخَفۡ ؕ
takhaf
fear
تم ڈرو
وَبَشَّرُوۡهُ
wabasharūhu
and they gave him glad tidings
اور انہوں نے خوشخبری دی اس کو
بِغُلٰمٍ
bighulāmin
of a son
لڑکے کی
عَلِيۡمٍ
ʿalīmin
learned
جاننے والے۔ علم والے
Urdu —
پھر اُن (کے نہ کھانے) سے دل میں ہلکی سے گھبراہٹ محسوس کی۔ وہ (فرشتے) کہنے لگے: آپ گھبرائیے نہیں، اور اُن کو علم و دانش والے بیٹے (اسحاق علیہ السلام) کی خوشخبری سنا دیo
— English
And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.
فَاَقۡبَلَتِ امۡرَاَتُهٗ فِىۡ صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوۡزٌ عَقِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Faaqbalati imraatuhu fee sarratin fasakkatwajhaha waqalat AAajoozun AAaqeem
فَاَقۡبَلَتِ
fa-aqbalati
Then came forward
تو آگے بڑھی
امۡرَاَتُهٗ
im'ra-atuhu
his wife
اس کی بیوی
فِىۡ
fī
with
میں
صَرَّةٍ
ṣarratin
a loud voice
حیرت (میں)
فَصَكَّتۡ
faṣakkat
and struck
تو ہاتھ مارا
وَجۡهَهَا
wajhahā
her face
اپنے چہرے پر
وَقَالَتۡ
waqālat
and she said
اور کہنے لگی
عَجُوۡزٌ
ʿajūzun
An old woman
بڑھیا
عَقِيۡمٌ
ʿaqīmun
barren
بانجھ
Urdu —
پھر اُن کی بیوی (سارہ) حیرت و حسرت کی آواز نکالتے ہوئے متوجہ ہوئیں اور تعجّب سے اپنے ماتھے پر ہاتھ مارا اور کہنے لگی: (کیا) بوڑھیا بانجھ عورت (بچہ جنے گی؟)o
— English
And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!"
قَالُوۡا كَذٰلِكِ ۙ قَالَ رَبُّكِؕ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الۡحَكِيۡمُ الۡعَلِيۡمُ
— Transliteration
Qaloo kathaliki qalarabbuki innahu huwa alhakeemu alAAaleem
قَالُوۡا
qālū
They said
انہوں نے کہا
كَذٰلِكِ ۙ
kadhāliki
`Thus
اسی طرح ہوگا
قَالَ
qāla
said
کہا ہے
رَبُّكِؕ
rabbuki
your Lord
تیرے رب نے
اِنَّهٗ
innahu
Indeed, He
بیشک وہ
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
وہ
الۡحَكِيۡمُ
l-ḥakīmu
(is) the All-Wise
حکمت والا ہے
الۡعَلِيۡمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
علم والا ہے
Urdu —
(فرشتوں نے) کہا: ایسے ہی ہوگا، تمہارے رب نے فرمایا ہے۔ بیشک وہ بڑی حکمت والا بہت علم والا ہےo
— English
They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing."
قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ اَيُّهَا الۡمُرۡسَلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qala fama khatbukumayyuha almursaloon

(is) your mission
قصہ ہے تمہارا
اَيُّهَا

**O messengers?`
اے
الۡمُرۡسَلُوۡنَ
l-mur'salūna
O messengers
فرشتو۔ بھیجے ہوؤں
Urdu —
(ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے) کہا: اے بھیجے ہوئے فرشتو! (اس بشارت کے علاوہ) تمہارا (آنے کا) بنیادی مقصد کیا ہےo
— English
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"
قَالُـوۡۤا اِنَّاۤ اُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ اِلٰى قَوۡمٍ مُّجۡرِمِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Qaloo inna orsilna ilaqawmin mujrimeen
قَالُـوۡۤا
qālū
They said
انہوں نے کہا
اِنَّاۤ
innā
`Indeed, we
بیشک ہم
اُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ
ur'sil'nā
[we] have been sent
بھیجے گئے ہم
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
قَوۡمٍ
qawmin
a people
مجرم
مُّجۡرِمِيۡنَۙ
muj'rimīna
criminal
قوم کے
Urdu —
انہوں نے کہا: ہم مجرِم قوم (یعنی قومِ لُوط) کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیںo
— English
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةً مِّنۡ طِيۡنٍۙ
— Transliteration
Linursila AAalayhim hijaratanmin teen
لِنُرۡسِلَ
linur'sila
That we may send down
تاکہ ہم بھیجیں
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʿalayhim
upon them
ان پر
حِجَارَةً
ḥijāratan
stones
پتھر
مِّنۡ
min
of
سے
طِيۡنٍۙ
ṭīnin
clay
مٹی
Urdu —
تاکہ ہم اُن پر مٹی کے پتھریلے کنکر برسائیںo
— English
To send down upon them stones of clay,
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِنۡدَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika lilmusrifeen
مُّسَوَّمَةً
musawwamatan
Marked
نشان لگے ہوئے ہیں
عِنۡدَ
ʿinda
by your Lord
ہاں
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
by your Lord
تیرے رب کے
لِلۡمُسۡرِفِيۡنَ
lil'mus'rifīna
for the transgressors
حد سے بڑھنے والوں کے لیے
Urdu —
(وہ پتھر جن پر) حد سے گزر جانے والوں کے لئے آپ کے رب کی طرف سے نشان لگا دیا گیا ہےo
— English
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."
فَاَخۡرَجۡنَا مَنۡ كَانَ فِيۡهَا مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَۚ
— Transliteration
Faakhrajna man kana feehamina almu/mineen
فَاَخۡرَجۡنَا
fa-akhrajnā
Then We brought out
تو نکال لیا ہم نے
مَنۡ
man
(those) who
جو کوئی
كَانَ
kāna
were
تھا
فِيۡهَا
fīhā
therein
اس میں
مِنَ
mina
of
میں سے
الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَۚ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
مومنوں
Urdu —
پھر ہم نے ہر اُس شخص کو (قومِ لُوط کی بستی سے) باہر نکال دیا جو اس میں اہلِ ایمان میں سے تھاo
— English
So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers.
فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيۡهَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٍ مِّنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَۚ
— Transliteration
Fama wajadna feehaghayra baytin mina almuslimeen
فَمَا
famā
But not
تو نہ
وَجَدۡنَا
wajadnā
We found
پایا ہم نے
فِيۡهَا
fīhā
therein
اس میں
غَيۡرَ
ghayra
other than
سوائے
بَيۡتٍ
baytin
a house
ایک گھر کے
مِّنَ
mina
of
میں سے
الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَۚ
l-mus'limīna
the Muslims
مسلمانوں
Urdu —
سو ہم نے اُس بستی میں مسلمانوں کے ایک گھر کے سوا (اور کوئی گھر) نہیں پایا (اس میں حضرت لوط علیہ السلام اور ان کی دو صاحبزادیاں تھیں)o
— English
And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.
وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيۡهَاۤ اٰيَةً لِّـلَّذِيۡنَ يَخَافُوۡنَ الۡعَذَابَ الۡاَلِيۡمَؕ
— Transliteration
Watarakna feeha ayatanlillatheena yakhafoona alAAathaba al-aleem
وَتَرَكۡنَا
wataraknā
And We left
اور چھوڑ دی ہم نے
فِيۡهَاۤ
fīhā
therein
اس میں
اٰيَةً
āyatan
a Sign
ایک نشانی
لِّـلَّذِيۡنَ
lilladhīna
for those who
ان لوگوں کے لیے
يَخَافُوۡنَ
yakhāfūna
fear
جو ڈرتے ہیں
الۡعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhāba
the punishment
عذاب سے
الۡاَلِيۡمَؕ
l-alīma
the painful
دردناک
Urdu —
اور ہم نے اُس (بستی) میں اُن لوگوں کے لئے (عبرت کی) ایک نشانی باقی رکھی جو دردناک عذاب سے ڈرتے ہیںo
— English
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.
وَفِىۡ مُوۡسَىٰۤ اِذۡ اَرۡسَلۡنٰهُ اِلٰى فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِسُلۡطٰنٍ مُّبِيۡنٍ
— Transliteration
Wafee moosa ith arsanahuila firAAawna bisultanin mubeen
وَفِىۡ
wafī
And in
اور میں
مُوۡسٰۤی
mūsā
Musa,
موسیٰ
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
اَرۡسَلۡنٰهُ
arsalnāhu
We sent him
بھیجا ہم نے اس کو
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'ʿawna
Firaun
فرعون کی
بِسُلۡطٰنٍ
bisul'ṭānin
with an authority
ایک دلیل کے ساتھ
مُّبِيۡنٍ
mubīnin
clear
کھلی
Urdu —
اور موسٰی (علیہ السلام کے واقعہ) میں (بھی نشانیاں ہیں) جب ہم نے انہیں فرعون کی طرف واضح دلیل دے کر بھیجاo
— English
And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.
فَتَوَلّٰى بِرُكۡنِهٖ وَقَالَ سٰحِرٌ اَوۡ مَجۡنُوۡنٌ
— Transliteration
Fatawalla biruknihi waqala sahirunaw majnoon
فَتَوَلّٰى
fatawallā
But he turned away
تو وہ پھر گیا
بِرُكۡنِهٖ
biruk'nihi
with his supporters
اپنی قوت کے ساتھ
وَقَالَ
waqāla
and said
اور کہنے لگا
سٰحِرٌ
sāḥirun
A magician
ایک جادوگر ہے
اَوۡ
aw
or
یا
مَجۡنُوۡنٌ
majnūnun
a madman
مجنون ہے
Urdu —
تو اُس نے اپنے اراکینِ سلطنت سمیت رُوگردانی کی اور کہنے لگا: (یہ) جادوگر یا دیوانہ ہےo
— English
But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman."
فَاَخَذۡنٰهُ وَجُنُوۡدَهٗ فَنَبَذۡنٰهُمۡ فِىۡ الۡيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيۡمٌؕ
— Transliteration
Faakhathnahu wajunoodahufanabathnahum fee alyammi wahuwa muleem
فَاَخَذۡنٰهُ
fa-akhadhnāhu
So We took him
تو پکڑ لیا ہم نے اس کو
وَجُنُوۡدَهٗ
wajunūdahu
and his hosts
اور اس کے لشکروں کو
فَنَبَذۡنٰهُمۡ
fanabadhnāhum
and threw them
تو پھینک دیا ہم نے ان کو
فِى
fī
into
میں
الۡيَمِّ
l-yami
the sea
سمندر
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
اور وہ
مُلِيۡمٌؕ
mulīmun
(was) blameworthy
ملامت زدہ تھا
Urdu —
پھر ہم نے اُسے اور اُس کے لشکر کو (عذاب کی) گرفت میں لے لیا اور اُن (سب) کو دریا میں غرق کر دیا اور وہ تھا ہی قابلِ ملامت کام کرنے والاo
— English
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.
وَفِىۡ عَادٍ اِذۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمُ الرِّيۡحَ الۡعَقِيۡمَۚ
— Transliteration
Wafee AAadin ith arsalnaAAalayhimu arreeha alAAaqeem
وَفِىۡ
wafī
And in
اور میں
عَادٍ
ʿādin
Aad
عاد
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
اَرۡسَلۡنَا
arsalnā
We sent
بھیجا ہم نے
عَلَيۡهِمُ
ʿalayhimu
against them
ان پر
الرِّيۡحَ
l-rīḥa
the wind
ہوا کو
الۡعَقِيۡمَۚ
l-ʿaqīma
the barren
بےنفع -بانجھ
Urdu —
اور (قومِ) عاد (کی ہلاکت) میں بھی (نشانی) ہے جبکہ ہم نے اُن پر بے خیر و برکت ہوا بھیجیo
— English
And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.
مَا تَذَرُ مِنۡ شَىۡءٍ اَتَتۡ عَلَيۡهِ اِلَّا جَعَلَتۡهُ كَالرَّمِيۡمِؕ
— Transliteration
Ma tatharu min shay-in atatAAalayhi illa jaAAalat-hu karrameem
مَا
mā
Not
نہ
تَذَرُ
tadharu
it left
چھوڑتی تھی
مِنۡ

کسی
شَىۡءٍ
shayin
thing
چیز کو
اَتَتۡ

عَلَيۡهِ

مگر
جَعَلَتۡهُ
jaʿalathu
it made it
اس نے کردیا اس کو
كَالرَّمِيۡمِؕ
kal-ramīmi
like disintegrated ruins
بوسیدہ ہڈیوں کی طرح
Urdu —
وہ جس چیز پر بھی گزرتی تھی اسے ریزہ ریزہ کئے بغیر نہیں چھوڑتی تھیo
— English
It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.
وَفِىۡ ثَمُوۡدَ اِذۡ قِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ تَمَتَّعُوۡا حَتّٰى حِيۡنٍ
— Transliteration
Wafee thamooda ith qeela lahumtamattaAAoo hatta heen
وَفِىۡ
wafī
And in
اور میں
ثَمُوۡدَ
thamūda
Thamud,
ثمود
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
قِيۡلَ
qīla
was said
کہا گیا
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them,
ان سے
تَمَتَّعُوۡا
tamattaʿū
Enjoy (yourselves)
فائدے اٹھا لو
حَتّٰى
ḥattā
for
تک
حِيۡنٍ
ḥīnin
a time
ایک وقت
Urdu —
اور (قومِ) ثمود (کی ہلاکت) میں بھی (عبرت کی نشانی ہے) جبکہ اُن سے کہا گیا کہ تم ایک معیّنہ وقت تک فائدہ اٹھا لوo
— English
And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."
فَعَتَوۡا عَنۡ اَمۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ فَاَخَذَتۡهُمُ الصّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمۡ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
FaAAataw AAan amri rabbihim faakhathat-humuassaAAiqatu wahum yanthuroon
فَعَتَوۡا
faʿataw
But they rebelled
تو انہوں نے سرکشی کی
عَنۡ
ʿan
against
سے
اَمۡرِ
amri
(the) Command
حکم
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
اپنے رب کے
فَاَخَذَتۡهُمُ
fa-akhadhathumu
so seized them
تو پکڑ لیا ان کو
الصّٰعِقَةُ
l-ṣāʿiqatu
the thunderbolt
ایک کڑک نے
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
اور وہ
يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ
yanẓurūna
were looking
دیکھ رہے تھے
Urdu —
تو انہوں نے اپنے رب کے حکم سے سرکشی کی، پس انہیں ہولناک کڑک نے آن لیا اور وہ دیکھتے ہی رہ گئےo
— English
But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.
فَمَا اسۡتَطَاعُوۡا مِنۡ قِيَامٍ وَّمَا كَانُوۡا مُنۡتَصِرِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Fama istataAAoo min qiyaminwama kanoo muntasireen
فَمَا
famā
Then not
تو نہ
اسۡتَطَاعُوۡا
is'taṭāʿū
they were able to
ان کو استطاعت تھی
مِنۡ
min
to
کی
قِيَامٍ
qiyāmin
stand
کھڑے ہونے
وَّمَا
wamā
and not
اور نہ
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they could
تھے وہ
مُنۡتَصِرِيۡنَۙ
muntaṣirīna
help themselves
بدلہ لینے والے
Urdu —
پھر وہ نہ کھڑے رہنے پر قدرت پا سکے اور نہ وہ (ہم سے) بدلہ لے سکنے والے تھےo
— English
And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.
وَقَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُؕ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا قَوۡمًا فٰسِقِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanooqawman fasiqeen
وَقَوۡمَ
waqawma
And (the) people
اور قوم
نُوۡحٍ
nūḥin
(of) Nuh
نوح
مِّنۡ
min
**before them;
اس سے
قَبۡلُؕ
qablu
before
قبل
اِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
indeed, they
بیشک وہ
كَانُوۡا
kānū
were
تھے
قَوۡمًا
qawman
a people
لوگ
فٰسِقِيۡنَ
fāsiqīna
defiantly disobedient
فاسق
Urdu —
اور اس سے پہلے نُوح (علیہ السلام) کی قوم کو (بھی ہلاک کیا)، بیشک وہ سخت نافرمان لوگ تھےo
— English
And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.
وَالسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنٰهَا بِاَيۡٮدٍ وَّاِنَّا لَمُوۡسِعُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wassamaa banaynahabi-aydin wa-inna lamoosiAAoon
وَ السَّمَآءَ
wal-samāa
And the heaven
اور آسمان
بَنَيۡنٰهَا
banaynāhā
We constructed it
بنایا ہم نے اس کو
بِاَيۡٮدٍ
bi-aydin
with strength
اپنی قوت۔ ہاتھ سے
وَّاِنَّا
wa-innā
and indeed, We
اور بیشک ہم
لَمُوۡسِعُوۡنَ
lamūsiʿūna
(are) surely (its) Expanders
البتہ وسعت دینے والے ہیں
Urdu —
اور آسمانی کائنات کو ہم نے بڑی قوت کے ذریعہ سے بنایا اور یقیناً ہم (اس کائنات کو) وسعت اور پھیلاؤ دیتے جا رہے ہیںo
— English
And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.
وَالۡاَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنٰهَا فَنِعۡمَ الۡمَاهِدُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wal-arda farashnahafaniAAma almahidoon
وَالۡاَرۡضَ
wal-arḍa
And the earth
اور زمین کو
فَرَشۡنٰهَا
farashnāhā
We have spread it
بچھایا ہم نے اس کو
فَنِعۡمَ
faniʿ'ma
how excellent
تو کتنے اچھے
الۡمٰهِدُوۡنَ
l-māhidūna
(are) the Spreaders
بچھانے والے ہیں۔ ہموار کرنے والے ہیں
Urdu —
اور (سطحِ) زمین کو ہم ہی نے (قابلِ رہائش) فرش بنایا سو ہم کیا خوب سنوارنے اور سیدھا کرنے والے ہیںo
— English
And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer.
وَمِنۡ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wamin kulli shay-in khalaqna zawjaynilaAAallakum tathakkaroon
وَمِنۡ
wamin
And of
اور میں سے
كُلِّ
kulli
every
ہر
شَىۡءٍ
shayin
thing
چیز
خَلَقۡنَا
khalaqnā
We have created
بنائے ہم نے
زَوۡجَيۡنِ
zawjayni
pairs
جوڑے
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
laʿallakum
so that you may
تاکہ تم
تَذَكَّرُوۡنَ
tadhakkarūna
remember
تم نصیحت پکڑو
Urdu —
اور ہم نے ہر چیز سے دو جوڑے پیدا فرمائے تاکہ تم دھیان کرو اور سمجھوo
— English
And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.
فَفِرُّوۡۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِؕ اِنِّىۡ لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡهُ نَذِيۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌۚ
— Transliteration
Fafirroo ila Allahi inneelakum minhu natheerun mubeen
فَفِرُّوۡۤا
fafirrū
So flee
پس دوڑو
اِلَى
ilā
to
طرف
اللّٰهِؕ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کی
اِنِّىۡ
innī
indeed, I am
بیشک میں
لَـكُمۡ
lakum
to you
تمہارے لیے
مِّنۡهُ
min'hu
from Him
اس کی طرف سے
نَذِيۡرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
ڈرانے والا ہوں
مُّبِيۡنٌۚ
mubīnun
clear
کھلم کھلا
Urdu —
پس تم اﷲ کی طرف دوڑ چلو، بیشک میں اُس کی طرف سے تمہیں کھلا ڈر سنانے والا ہوںo
— English
So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.
وَلَا تَجۡعَلُوۡا مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَؕ اِنِّىۡ لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡهُ نَذِيۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌۚ
— Transliteration
Wala tajAAaloo maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara innee lakum minhu natheerun mubeen
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
اور نہ
تَجۡعَلُوۡا
tajʿalū
make
تم بناؤ
مَعَ
maʿa
with
ساتھ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
اِلٰهًا
ilāhan
God
الہ
اٰخَرَؕ
ākhara
another
کوئی دوسرا
اِنِّىۡ
innī
Indeed, I am
بیشک میں
لَـكُمۡ
lakum
to you
تمہارے لیے
مِّنۡهُ
min'hu
from Him
اس کی طرف سے
نَذِيۡرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
ڈرانے والا ہوں
مُّبِيۡنٌۚ
mubīnun
clear
کھلم کھلا
Urdu —
اور اﷲ کے سوا کوئی دوسرا معبود نہ بناؤ، بیشک میں اس کی جانب سے تمہیں کھلا ڈر سنانے والا ہوںo
— English
And do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.
كَذٰلِكَ مَاۤ اَتَى الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ مِّنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ اِلَّا قَالُوۡا سَاحِرٌ اَوۡ مَجۡنُوۡنٌۚ
— Transliteration
Kathalika ma ata allatheenamin qablihim min rasoolin illa qaloo sahirunaw majnoon
كَذٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Likewise
اسی طرح
مَاۤ
mā
not
نہیں
اَتَى
atā
came
آیا پاس
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
(to) those
ان لوگوں کے
مِنۡ
min
**before them
جو
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
qablihim
before them
ان سے پہلے تھے
مِّنۡ
min
any
کوئی
رَّسُوۡلٍ
rasūlin
Messenger
رسول
اِلَّا
illā
but
مگر
قَالُوۡا
qālū
they said
انہوں نے کہا
سَاحِرٌ
sāḥirun
A magician
جادوگر
اَوۡ
aw
or
یا
مَجۡنُوۡنٌۚ
majnūnun
a madman
مجنون
Urdu —
اسی طرح اُن سے پہلے لوگوں کے پاس بھی کوئی رسول نہیں آیا مگر انہوں نے یہی کہا کہ (یہ) جادوگر ہے یا دیوانہ ہےo
— English
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
اَتَوَاصَوۡا بِهٖۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٌ طَاغُوۡنَۚ
— Transliteration
Atawasaw bihi bal hum qawmun taghoon
اَتَوَاصَوۡا
atawāṣaw
Have they transmitted it to them
کیا وہ ایک دوسرے کو نصیحت کر گئے
بِهٖۚ
bihi
**Have they transmitted it to them?
اس کے ساتھ
بَلۡ
bal
Nay,
بلکہ
هُمۡ
hum
they
وہ
قَوۡمٌ
qawmun
(are) a people
لوگ ہیں
طَاغُوۡنَۚ
ṭāghūna
transgressing
سرکش
Urdu —
کیا وہ لوگ ایک دوسرے کواس بات کی وصیت کرتے رہے؟ بلکہ وہ (سب) سرکش و باغی لوگ تھےo
— English
Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَاۤ اَنۡتَ بِمَلُوۡمٍ
— Transliteration
Fatawalla AAanhum fama anta bimaloom
فَتَوَلَّ
fatawalla
So turn away
پس منہ موڑ لو
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʿanhum
from them,
ان سے
فَمَاۤ
famā
for not
پس نہیں
اَنۡتَ
anta
you
آپ
بِمَلُوۡمٍ
bimalūmin
(are) to be blamed
جن پر ملامت کی جائے
Urdu —
سو آپ اُن سے نظرِ التفات ہٹا لیں پس آپ پر (اُن کے ایمان نہ لانے کی) کوئی ملامت نہیں ہےo
— English
So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed.
وَّذَكِّرۡ فَاِنَّ الذِّكۡرٰى تَنۡفَعُ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wathakkir fa-inna aththikratanfaAAu almu/mineen
وَّذَكِّرۡ
wadhakkir
And remind
اور نصیحت کیجیے
فَاِنَّ
fa-inna
for indeed,
پس بیشک
الذِّكۡرٰى
l-dhik'rā
the reminder
نصیحت
تَنۡفَعُ
tanfaʿu
benefits
فائدہ دیتی ہے
الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

the believers
مومنوں کو
Urdu —
اور آپ نصیحت کرتے رہیں کہ بیشک نصیحت مومنوں کو فائدہ دیتی ہےo
— English
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.
وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ الۡجِنَّ وَالۡاِنۡسَ اِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُوۡنِ
— Transliteration
Wama khalaqtu aljinna wal-insailla liyaAAbudoon
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
خَلَقۡتُ
khalaqtu
I have created
پیدا کیا میں نے
الۡجِنَّ
l-jina
the jinn
جنوں کو
وَالۡاِنۡسَ
wal-insa
and the mankind
اور انسانوں کو
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
لِيَعۡبُدُوۡنِ
liyaʿbudūni
that they worship Me
اس لیے تاکہ وہ میری عبادت میں
Urdu —
اور میں نے جنّات اور انسانوں کو صرف اسی لئے پیدا کیا کہ وہ میری بندگی اختیار کریںo
— English
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
مَاۤ اُرِيۡدُ مِنۡهُمۡ مِّنۡ رِّزۡقٍ وَّمَاۤ اُرِيۡدُ اَنۡ يُّطۡعِمُوۡنِ
— Transliteration
Ma oreedu minhum min rizqin wamaoreedu an yutAAimoon
مَاۤ

Not
نہیں
اُرِيۡدُ

I want
میں چاہتا
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
from them
ان سے
مِّنۡ
min
any
کوئی
رِّزۡقٍ
riz'qin
provision
رزق
وَّمَاۤ
wamā
and not
اور نہیں
اُرِيۡدُ

I want
میں چاہتا
اَنۡ
an
that
کہ وہ
يُّطۡعِمُوۡنِ
yuṭ'ʿimūni
they (should) feed Me
کھلائیں مجھ کو
Urdu —
نہ میں اُن سے رِزق (یعنی کمائی) طلب کرتا ہوں اور نہ اس کا طلب گار ہوں کہ وہ مجھے (کھانا) کھلائیںo
— English
I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُوۡ الۡقُوَّةِ الۡمَتِيۡنُ
— Transliteration
Inna Allaha huwa arrazzaquthoo alquwwati almateen
اِنَّ

Indeed,
بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
هُوَ
huwa
He
وہی
الرَّزَّاقُ
l-razāqu
(is) the All-Provider
رزاق ہے
ذُو
dhū
Possessor
والا ہے
الۡقُوَّةِ
l-quwati
(of) Power
قوت
الۡمَتِيۡنُ
l-matīnu
the Strong
زبردست ہے
Urdu —
بیشک اﷲ ہی ہر ایک کا روزی رساں ہے، بڑی قوت والا ہے، زبردست مضبوط ہے (اسے کسی کی مدد و تعاون کی حاجت نہیں)o
— English
Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.
فَاِنَّ لِلَّذِيۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا ذَنُوۡبًا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوۡبِ اَصۡحٰبِهِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنِ
— Transliteration
Fa-inna lillatheena thalamoothanooban mithla thanoobi as-habihimfala yastaAAjiloon
فَاِنَّ
fa-inna
So indeed,
تو بیشک
لِلَّذِيۡنَ
lilladhīna
for those who
ان لوگوں کے لیے
ظَلَمُوۡا
ẓalamū
do wrong
جنہوں نے ظلم کیا
ذَنُوۡبًا
dhanūban
(is) a portion
حصہ ہے،
مِّثۡلَ
mith'la
like
مانند
ذَنُوۡبِ
dhanūbi
(the) portion
حصے کے
اَصۡحٰبِهِمۡ
aṣḥābihim
(of) their companions
ان کے ساتھیوں کے
فَلَا
falā
**so let them not ask Me to hasten.
پس نہ
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنِ
yastaʿjilūni
so let them not ask Me to hasten
وہ جلدی کریں مجھ سے
Urdu —
پس ان ظالموں کے لئے (بھی) حصۂ عذاب مقرّر ہے ان کے (پہلے گزرے ہوئے) ساتھیوں کے حصۂ عذاب کی طرح، سو وہ مجھ سے جلدی طلب نہ کریںo
— English
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me.
فَوَيۡلٌ لِّـلَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ يَّوۡمِهِمُ الَّذِىۡ يُوۡعَدُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fawaylun lillatheena kafaroo minyawmihimu allathee yooAAadoon
فَوَيۡلٌ
fawaylun
Then woe
پس ہلاکت ہے
لِّـلَّذِيۡنَ
lilladhīna
to those who
ان لوگوں کے لیے
كَفَرُوۡا
kafarū
disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
مِنۡ
min
from
سے
يَّوۡمِهِمُ
yawmihimu
their Day
اس دن
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
which
ان کے
يُوۡعَدُوۡنَ
yūʿadūna
they are promised
وہ جو وہ وعدہ کیے جاتے ہیں
Urdu —
سو کافروں کے لئے اُن کے اُس دِن میں بڑی تباہی ہے جس کا اُن سے وعدہ کیا جا رہا ہےo
— English
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.
