صٓ وَالۡقُرۡاٰنِ ذِىۡ الذِّكۡرِؕ
— Transliteration
Sad walqur-ani theeaththikr

وَالۡقُرۡاٰنِ
wal-qur'āni
By the Quran
قسم ہے قرآن کی،
ذِى
dhī
**full (of) reminder.
والے
الذِّكۡرِؕ
l-dhik'ri
full (of) reminder
نصحیت
Urdu —
ص (حقیقی معنی اﷲ اور رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں)، ذکر والے قرآن کی قسمo
— English
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder...
بَلِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا فِىۡ عِزَّةٍ وَّشِقَاقٍ
— Transliteration
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee AAizzatinwashiqaq
بَلِ
bali
Nay,
بلکہ
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
وہ لوگ
كَفَرُوۡا
kafarū
disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
فِىۡ
fī
(are) in
ہیں
عِزَّةٍ
ʿizzatin
self-glory
غلبے میں
وَّشِقَاقٍ
washiqāqin
and opposition
اور مخالفت میں
Urdu —
بلکہ کافر لوگ (ناحق) حمیّت و تکبّر میں اور (ہمارے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی) مخالفت و عداوت میں (مبتلا) ہیںo
— English
But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension.
كَمۡ اَهۡلَـكۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡنٍ فَنَادَوا وَّلَاتَ حِيۡنَ مَنَاصٍ
— Transliteration
Kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarninfanadaw walata heena manas
كَمۡ
kam
How many
کتنی ہی ہلاک کیں ہم نے
اَهۡلَـكۡنَا
ahlaknā
We destroyed
ان سے پہلے
مِنۡ
min
**before them
بستیوں میں سے
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
qablihim
before them
تو انہوں نے پکارا/ چیخ و پکار کی
مِّنۡ
min
of
اور نہ تھی
قَرۡنٍ
qarnin
a generation
اس وقت کوئی نجات
فَنَادَوْا
fanādaw
then they called out
وَّلَاتَ
walāta
when there (was) no longer
حِيۡنَ
ḥīna
time
مَنَاصٍ
manāṣin
(for) escape
Urdu —
ہم نے کتنی ہی امّتوں کو اُن سے پہلے ہلاک کر دیا تو وہ (عذاب کو دیکھ کر) پکارنے لگے حالانکہ اب خلاصی (اور رہائی) کا وقت نہیں رہا تھاo
— English
How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape.
وَعَجِبُوۡۤا اَنۡ جَآءَهُمۡ مُّنۡذِرٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَقَالَ الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ هٰذَا سٰحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
WaAAajiboo an jaahum munthirunminhum waqala alkafiroona hatha sahirunkaththab
وَعَجِبُوۡۤا
waʿajibū
And they wonder
اور انہوں نے تعجب کیا
اَنۡ
an
that
اس بات پر کہ
جَآءَهُمۡ
jāahum
has come to them
آیا ان کے پاس
مُّنۡذِرٌ
mundhirun
a warner
ایک ڈرانے والا
مِّنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
from among themselves.
ان میں سے
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And said
اور کہا
الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ
l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers
کافروں نے
هٰذَا
hādhā
`This
یہ
سٰحِرٌ
sāḥirun
(is) a magician
ساحر ہے/ جادوگر ہے
كَذَّابٌ ۖۚ
kadhābun
a liar
سخت جھوٹا
Urdu —
اور انہوں نے اس بات پر تعجب کیا کہ ان کے پاس اُن ہی میں سے ایک ڈر سنانے والا آگیا ہے۔ اور کفّار کہنے لگے: یہ جادوگر ہے، بہت جھوٹا ہےo
— English
And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar.
اَجَعَلَ الۡاٰلِهَةَ اِلٰهًا وَّاحِدًا ۖۚ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَشَىۡءٌ عُجَابٌ
— Transliteration
AjaAAala al-alihata ilahan wahidaninna hatha lashay-on AAujab
اَجَعَلَ
ajaʿala
Has he made
کیا اس نے بنالیا
الۡاٰلِهَةَ
l-ālihata
the gods
بہت سے الٰہوں کو
اِلٰهًا
ilāhan
(into) one god?
الٰہ
وَّاحِدًا ۖۚ
wāḥidan
(into) one god?
ایک ہی
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed
بیشک
هٰذَا
hādhā
this
یہ
لَشَىۡءٌ
lashayon
(is) certainly a thing
البتہ ایک چیز ہے
عُجَابٌ
ʿujābun
curious
عجیب
Urdu —
کیا اس نے سب معبودوں کو ایک ہی معبود بنا رکھا ہے؟ بے شک یہ تو بڑی ہی عجیب بات ہےo
— English
Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing."
وَانْطَلَقَ الۡمَلَاُ مِنۡهُمۡ اَنِ امۡشُوۡا وَاصۡبِرُوۡا عَلٰٓى اٰلِهَتِكُمۡ ۖۚ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَشَىۡءٌ يُّرَادُ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
Wantalaqa almalao minhum aniimshoo wasbiroo AAala alihatikuminna hatha lashay-on yurad
وَانْطَلَقَ
wa-inṭalaqa
And went forth
اور چل دیئے
الۡمَلَاُ
l-mala-u
the chiefs
سردار
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
among them
ان میں سے (یہ کہتے ہوئے)
اَنِ
ani
that,
کہ
امۡشُوۡا
im'shū
Continue
چلو
وَاصۡبِرُوۡا
wa-iṣ'birū
and be patient
اور جمے رہو
عَلٰٓى
ʿalā
over
پر
اٰلِهَتِكُمۡ ۖۚ
ālihatikum
your gods.
اپنے الٰہوں
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
هٰذَا
hādhā
this
یہ
لَشَىۡءٌ
lashayon
(is) certainly a thing
البتہ ایک چیز ہے
يُّرَادُ ۖۚ
yurādu
intended
جو ارادہ کی جاتی ہے
Urdu —
اور اُن کے سردار (ابوطالب کے گھر میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی مجلس سے اٹھ کر) چل کھڑے ہوئے (باقی لوگوں سے) یہ کہتے ہوئے کہ تم بھی چل پڑو، اور اپنے معبودوں (کی پرستش) پر ثابت قدم رہو، یہ ضرور ایسی بات ہے جس میں کوئی غرض (اور مراد) ہےo
— English
And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended.
مَا سَمِعۡنَا بِهٰذَا فِىۡ الۡمِلَّةِ الۡاٰخِرَةِ ۖۚ اِنۡ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا اخۡتِلَاقٌ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
Ma samiAAna bihatha feealmillati al-akhirati in hatha illa ikhtilaq
مَا
mā
Not
نہیں
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʿ'nā
we heard
سنایا ہم نے
بِهٰذَا
bihādhā
of this
اس کے بارے میں
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡمِلَّةِ
l-milati
the religion
ملت
الۡاٰخِرَةِ ۖۚ
l-ākhirati
the last
میںپچھلی/ پچھلے
اِنۡ
in
Not
نہیں
هٰذَاۤ
hādhā
(is) this
یہ
اِلَّا
illā
but
مگر
اخۡتِلَاقٌ ۖۚ
ikh'tilāqun
a fabrication
من گھڑت
Urdu —
ہم نے اس (عقیدۂ توحید) کو آخری ملّتِ (نصرانی یا مذہبِ قریش) میں بھی نہیں سنا، یہ صرف خود ساختہ جھوٹ ہےo
— English
We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication.
اَءُنۡزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ الذِّكۡرُ مِنۡۢ بَيۡنِنَاؕ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِىۡ شَكٍّ مِّنۡ ذِكۡرِىۡۚ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوۡقُوۡا عَذَابِؕ
— Transliteration
Aonzila AAalayhi aththikru minbaynina bal hum fee shakkin min thikree bal lammayathooqoo AAathab
ءَاُنۡزِلَ
a-unzila
Has been revealed
کیا اتارا گیا ہے
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
to him
اس پر
الذِّكۡرُ
l-dhik'ru
the Message
ذکر
مِنۡۢ
min
from
سے
بَيۡنِنَاؕ
bayninā
among us
ہمارے درمیان
بَلۡ
bal
Nay,
بلکہ
هُمۡ
hum
They
وہ
فِىۡ
fī
(are) in
میں ہیں
شَكٍّ
shakkin
doubt
شک
مِّنۡ
min
about
سے
ذِكۡرِىۡۚ
dhik'rī
My Message
میرے ذکر
بَل
bal
Nay,
بلکہ نہیں
لَّمَّا
lammā
not
انہوں نے
يَذُوۡقُوۡا
yadhūqū
they have tasted
چکھا
عَذَابِؕ
ʿadhābi
My punishment
میرا عذاب
Urdu —
کیا ہم سب میں سے اسی پر یہ ذکر (یعنی قرآن) اتارا گیا ہے؟ بلکہ وہ میرے ذکر کی نسبت شک میں (گرفتار) ہیں، بلکہ انہوں نے ابھی میرے عذاب کا مزہ نہیں چکھاo
— English
Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment.
اَمۡ عِنۡدَهُمۡ خَزَآٮِٕنُ رَحۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ الۡعَزِيۡزِ الۡوَهَّابِۚ
— Transliteration
Am AAindahum khaza-inu rahmatirabbika alAAazeezi alwahhab
اَمۡ
am
Or
کیا
عِنۡدَهُمۡ
ʿindahum
have they
ان کے پاس
خَزَآٮِٕنُ
khazāinu
(the) treasures
خزانے ہیں
رَحۡمَةِ
raḥmati
(of the) Mercy
رحمت کے
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
تیرے رب کے
الۡعَزِيۡزِ
l-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty
جو غالب ہے
الۡوَهَّابِۚ
l-wahābi
the Bestower
دینے والا ہے/ داتا ہے
Urdu —
کیا ان کے پاس آپ کے رب کی رحمت کے خزانے ہیں جو غالب ہے بہت عطا فرمانے والا ہے؟o
— English
Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower?
اَمۡ لَهُمۡ مُّلۡكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا فَلۡيَرۡتَقُوۡا فِىۡ الۡاَسۡبَابِ
— Transliteration
Am lahum mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma falyartaqoofee al-asbab
اَمۡ
am
Or
یا
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
ان کے لئے
مُّلۡكُ
mul'ku
(is the) dominion
بادشاہت ہے
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
آسمانوں کی
وَالۡاَرۡضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
اور زمین کی
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
اور جو
بَيۡنَهُمَا
baynahumā
(is) between them
ان دونوں کے درمیان ہے
فَلۡيَرۡتَقُوۡا
falyartaqū
Then let them ascend
پس چاہیے کہ وہ اوپر چڑھ جائیں
فِى
fī
by
میں
الۡاَسۡبَابِ
l-asbābi
the means
رسیوں
Urdu —
یا اُن کے پاس آسمانوں اور زمین کی اور جو کچھ اِن دونوں کے درمیان ہے اس کی بادشاہت ہے؟ (اگر ہے) تو انہیں چاہئے کہ رسّیاں باندھ کر (آسمان پر) چڑھ جائیںo
— English
Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access.
جُنۡدٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهۡزُوۡمٌ مِّنَ الۡاَحۡزَابِ
— Transliteration
Jundun ma hunalika mahzoomunmina al-ahzab
جُنۡدٌ
jundun
Soldiers
یہ ایک لشکر ہے
مَّا
mā
**there
هُنَالِكَ
hunālika
**there
چھوٹا سا، اسی جگہ
مَهۡزُوۡمٌ
mahzūmun
(they will be) defeated
شکست کھانے والا ہے
مِّنَ
mina
among
میں سے
الۡاَحۡزَابِ
l-aḥzābi
the companies
گروہوں
Urdu —
(کفّار کے) لشکروں میں سے یہ ایک حقیر سا لشکر ہے جو اسی جگہ شکست خوردہ ہونے والا ہےo
— English
[They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers].
كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوۡحٍ وَّعَادٌ وَّفِرۡعَوۡنُ ذُوۡ الۡاَوۡتَادِۙ
— Transliteration
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinwaAAadun wafirAAawnu thoo al-awtad
كَذَّبَتۡ
kadhabat
Denied
جھٹلایا
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
qablahum
before them
ان سے پہلے
قَوۡمُ
qawmu
(the) people
قوم
نُوۡحٍ
nūḥin
(of) Nuh
نوح نے
وَّعَادٌ
waʿādun
and Aad
اور عاد نے
وَّفِرۡعَوۡنُ
wafir'ʿawnu
and Firaun,
اور فرعون
ذُو
dhū
(the) owner
والے نے
الۡاَوۡتَادِۙ
l-awtādi
(of) the stakes
میخوں
Urdu —
اِن سے پہلے قومِ نوح نے اور عاد نے اور بڑی مضبوط حکومت والے (یا میخوں سے اذیّت دینے والے) فرعون نے (بھی) جھٹلایا تھاo
— English
The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes,
وَثَمُوۡدُ وَقَوۡمُ لُوۡطٍ وَّاَصۡحٰبُ لْئَیْكَةِؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الۡاَحۡزَابُ
— Transliteration
Wathamoodu waqawmu lootin waas-habual-aykati ola-ika al-ahzab
وَثَمُوۡدُ
wathamūdu
And Thamud
اور ثمود نے
وَقَوۡمُ
waqawmu
and (the) people
اور قوم
لُوۡطٍ
lūṭin
(of) Lut
لوط نے
وَّاَصۡحٰبُ
wa-aṣḥābu
and (the) companions
اور والوں نے
لْئَیْكَةِ ؕ
al'aykati
(of) the wood.
ایکہ (والوں نے)
اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ
ulāika
Those
یہ سب
الۡاَحۡزَابُ
l-aḥzābu
(were) the companies
گروہ تھے
Urdu —
اور ثمود نے اور قومِ لوط نے اور اَیکہ (بَن) کے رہنے والوں نے (یعنی قومِ شعیب نے) بھی (جھٹلایا تھا)، یہی وہ بڑے لشکر تھےo
— English
And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies.
اِنۡ كُلٌّ اِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ
— Transliteration
In kullun illa kaththaba arrusulafahaqqa AAiqab
اِنۡ

all (of them)
سب کے سب
اِلَّا

but
مگر
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denied
انہوں نے جھٹلایا
الرُّسُلَ
l-rusula
the Messengers
رسولوں کو

faḥaqqa
so (was) just
تو ثابت ہوگئی
عِقَابِ
ʿiqābi
My penalty
میری سزا/ میرا عذاب
Urdu —
(اِن میں سے) ہر ایک گروہ نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا تو (اُن پر) میرا عذاب واجب ہو گیاo
— English
Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified.
وَمَا يَنۡظُرُ هٰٓؤُلَآءِ اِلَّا صَيۡحَةً وَّاحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِنۡ فَوَاقٍ
— Transliteration
Wama yanthuru haola-iilla sayhatan wahidatan ma lahamin fawaq
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
يَنۡظُرُ
yanẓuru
await
انتظار کرتے
هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ
hāulāi
these
یہ سب
اِلَّا
illā
but
مگر
صَيۡحَةً
ṣayḥatan
a shout
ایک چیخ کا
وَّاحِدَةً
wāḥidatan
one
بس ایک ہی
مَّا
mā
not
نہیں
لَهَا
lahā
for it
اس کے لئے
مِنۡ
min
any
کوئی
فَوَاقٍ
fawāqin
delay
ڈھیل/ وقفہ
Urdu —
اور یہ سب لوگ ایک نہایت سخت آواز (چنگھاڑ) کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں جس میں کچھ بھی توقّف نہ ہوگاo
— English
And these [disbelievers] await not but one blast [of the Horn]; for it there will be no delay.
وَقَالُوۡا رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبۡلَ يَوۡمِ الۡحِسَابِ
— Transliteration
Waqaloo rabbana AAajjil lanaqittana qabla yawmi alhisab
وَقَالُوۡا
waqālū
And they say
اور انہوں نے کہا
رَبَّنَا
rabbanā
Our Lord
اے ہمارے رب
عَجِّلْ
ʿajjil
Hasten
جلدی دے دے
لَّنَا
lanā
for us
ہمارے لئے
قِطَّنَا
qiṭṭanā
our share
حصہ ہمارا
قَبۡلَ
qabla
before
پہلے
يَوۡمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
دن سے
الۡحِسَابِ
l-ḥisābi
(of) the Account
حساب کے
Urdu —
اور وہ کہتے ہیں: اے ہمارے رب! روزِ حساب سے پہلے ہی ہمارا حصّہ ہمیں جلد دے دےo
— English
And they say, "Our Lord, hasten for us our share [of the punishment] before the Day of Account"
اِصۡبِرۡ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَاذۡكُرۡ عَبۡدَنَا دَاوٗدَ ذَا الۡاَيۡدِۚ اِنَّـهٗۤ اَوَّابٌ
— Transliteration
Isbir AAala mayaqooloona wathkur AAabdana dawooda thaal-aydi innahu awwab
اِصۡبِرۡ
iṣ'bir
Be patient
صبر کیجئے
عَلٰى
ʿalā
over
پر
مَا
mā
what
اس جو
يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ
yaqūlūna
they say
وہ کہتے ہیں
وَاذۡكُرۡ
wa-udh'kur
and remember
اور ذکر کیجئے
عَبۡدَنَا
ʿabdanā
Our slave
ہمارے بندے
دَاوٗدَ
dāwūda
Dawood,
داؤد کا
ذَا
dhā
**the possessor of strength.
صاحب
الۡاَيۡدِۚ
l-aydi
the possessor of strength
قوت/ قوت والے تھے
اِنَّـهٗۤ
innahu
Indeed, he (was)
بیشک وہ
اَوَّابٌ
awwābun
repeatedly turning
بہت رجوع کرنےوالا تھا
Urdu —
(اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) جو کچھ وہ کہتے ہیں آپ اس پر صبر جاری رکھیئے اور ہمارے بندے داؤد (علیہ السلام) کا ذکر کریں جو بڑی قوت والے تھے، بے شک وہ (ہماری طرف) بہت رجوع کرنے والے تھےo
— English
Be patient over what they say and remember Our servant, David, the possessor of strength; indeed, he was one who repeatedly turned back [to Allah].
اِنَّا سَخَّرۡنَا الۡجِبَالَ مَعَهٗ يُسَبِّحۡنَ بِالۡعَشِىِّ وَالۡاِشۡرَاقِۙ
— Transliteration
Inna sakhkharna aljibalamaAAahu yusabbihna bilAAashiyyi wal-ishraq
اِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
بیشک ہم نے
سَخَّرۡنَا
sakharnā
subjected
مسخر کیا
الۡجِبَالَ
l-jibāla
the mountains
پہاڑوں کو
مَعَهٗ
maʿahu
with him
اس کے ساتھ
يُسَبِّحۡنَ
yusabbiḥ'na
glorifying
وہ تسبیح کرتے تھے
بِالۡعَشِىِّ
bil-ʿashiyi
in the evening
شام کو
وَالۡاِشۡرَاقِۙ
wal-ish'rāqi
and [the] sunrise
اور صبح کو
Urdu —
بے شک ہم نے پہاڑوں کو اُن کے زیرِ فرمان کر دیا تھا، جو (اُن کے ساتھ مل کر) شام کو اور صبح کو تسبیح کیا کرتے تھےo
— English
Indeed, We subjected the mountains [to praise] with him, exalting [Allah] in the [late] afternoon and [after] sunrise.
وَالطَّيۡرَ مَحۡشُوۡرَةً ؕ كُلٌّ لَّـهٗۤ اَوَّابٌ
— Transliteration
Wattayra mahshooratankullun lahu awwab
وَالطَّيۡرَ
wal-ṭayra
And the birds
اور پرندوں کو
مَحۡشُوۡرَةً ؕ
maḥshūratan
assembled
اکھٹے ہونے والے/ جمع کئے گئے
كُلٌّ
kullun
all
سب کے سب
لَّـهٗۤ
lahu
with him
اس کے لئے
اَوَّابٌ
awwābun
repeatedly turning
رجوع کرنے والے تھے/لوٹنے والے تھے/متوجہ ہونے والے تھے
Urdu —
اور پرندوں کو بھی جو (اُن کے پاس) جمع رہتے تھے، ہر ایک ان کی طرف (اطاعت کے لئے) رجوع کرنے والا تھاo
— English
And the birds were assembled, all with him repeating [praises].
وَشَدَدۡنَا مُلۡكَهٗ وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُ الۡحِكۡمَةَ وَفَصۡلَ الۡخِطَابِ
— Transliteration
Washadadna mulkahu waataynahualhikmata wafasla alkhitab
وَشَدَدۡنَا
washadadnā
And We strengthened
اور مضبوط کردی ہم نے
مُلۡكَهٗ
mul'kahu
his kingdom
اس کی سلطنت
وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُ
waātaynāhu
and We gave him
اور دی ہم نے اس کو
الۡحِكۡمَةَ
l-ḥik'mata
[the] wisdom
حکمت
وَفَصۡلَ
wafaṣla
and decisive
اور فیصلہ کن
الۡخِطَابِ
l-khiṭābi
speech
بات/ خطاب
Urdu —
اور ہم نے اُن کے ملک و سلطنت کو مضبوط کر دیا تھا اور ہم نے انہیں حکمت و دانائی اور فیصلہ کن اندازِ خطاب عطا کیا تھاo
— English
And We strengthened his kingdom and gave him wisdom and discernment in speech.
وَهَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ نَبَؤُا الۡخَصۡمِۘ اِذۡ تَسَوَّرُوۡا الۡمِحۡرَابَۙ
— Transliteration
Wahal ataka nabao alkhasmi ithtasawwaroo almihrab
۞ وَهَلۡ
wahal
And has (there)
اور کیا آئی
اَتٰٮكَ
atāka
come to you
تیرے پاس
نَبَؤُا
naba-u
(the) news
خبر
الۡخَصۡمِۘ
l-khaṣmi
(of) the litigants
جھگڑنے والوں کی
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
تَسَوَّرُوا
tasawwarū
they climbed over the wall
وہ دیوار پھاند کر آتے تھے
الۡمِحۡرَابَۙ
l-miḥ'rāba
(of) the chamber
عبادت خانے میں
Urdu —
اور کیا آپ کے پاس جھگڑنے والوں کی خبر پہنچی؟ جب وہ دیوار پھاند کر (داؤد علیہ السلام کی) عبادت گاہ میں داخل ہو گئےo
— English
And has there come to you the news of the adversaries, when they climbed over the wall of [his] prayer chamber -
اِذۡ دَخَلُوۡا عَلٰى دَاوٗدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنۡهُمۡ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡۚ خَصۡمٰنِ بَغٰى بَعۡضُنَا عَلٰى بَعۡضٍ فَاحۡكُمۡ بَيۡنَنَا بِالۡحَقِّ وَلَا تُشۡطِطۡ وَاهۡدِنَاۤ اِلٰى سَوَآءِ الصِّرَاطِ
— Transliteration
Ith dakhaloo AAala dawoodafafaziAAa minhum qaloo la takhaf khasmanibagha baAAduna AAala baAAdinfahkum baynana bilhaqqi walatushtit wahdina ila sawa-iassirat
اِذۡ

فَفَزِعَ

`(Do) not
نہ
تَخَفۡۚ
takhaf
fear
تم ڈرو
خَصۡمٰنِ
khaṣmāni
(We are) two litigants
(ہم) دو جھگڑنے والے ہیں
بَغٰى
baghā
has wronged
زیادتی کی ہم میں سے
بَعۡضُنَا
baʿḍunā
one of us
بعض نے
عَلٰى
ʿalā
to
پر
بَعۡضٍ
baʿḍin
another
بعض
فَاحۡكُمۡ
fa-uḥ'kum
so judge
پس فیصلہ کردیجئے
بَيۡنَنَا
baynanā
between us
ہمارے درمیان
بِالۡحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
صحیح/ حق کے ساتھ
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
اور نہ
تُشۡطِطۡ
tush'ṭiṭ
be unjust
زیادتی کیجئے
وَاهۡدِنَاۤ
wa-ih'dinā
and guide us
اور رہنمائی کیجئے
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
سَوَآءِ
sawāi
an even
ہماری سیدھے
الصِّرَاطِ
l-ṣirāṭi
[the] path
راستے کے
Urdu —
جب وہ داؤد (علیہ السلام) کے پاس اندر آگئے تو وہ اُن سے گھبرائے، انہوں نے کہا: گھبرائیے نہیں، ہم (ایک) مقدّمہ میں دو فریق ہیں، ہم میں سے ایک نے دوسرے پر زیادتی کی ہے۔ آپ ہمارے درمیان حق و انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلہ کر دیں اور حد سے تجاوز نہ کریں اور ہمیں سیدھی راہ کی طرف رہبری کر دیںo
— English
When they entered upon David and he was alarmed by them? They said, "Fear not. [We are] two adversaries, one of whom has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed [it] and guide us to the sound path.
اِنَّ هٰذَاۤ اَخِىۡ لَهٗ تِسۡعٌ وَّتِسۡعُوۡنَ نَعۡجَةً وَّلِىَ نَعۡجَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ اَكۡفِلۡنِيۡهَا وَعَزَّنِىۡ فِىۡ الۡخِطَابِ
— Transliteration
Inna hatha akhee lahu tisAAunwatisAAoona naAAjatan waliya naAAjatun wahidatun faqalaakfilneeha waAAazzanee fee alkhitab
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
هٰذَاۤ
hādhā
this
یہ
اَخِىۡ
akhī
(is) my brother
میرا بھائی ہے
لَهٗ
lahu
he has
اس کی ہیں
تِسۡعٌ
tis'ʿun
ninety-nine
نو
وَّتِسۡعُوۡنَ
watis'ʿūna
ninety-nine
اور نوے
نَعۡجَةً
naʿjatan
ewe(s)
دنبیاں
وَّلِىَ
waliya
while I have
اور میرے لئے
نَعۡجَةٌ
naʿjatun
ewe
دنبی ہے
وَّاحِدَةٌ
wāḥidatun
one
ایک ہی
فَقَالَ
faqāla
so he said
تو اس نے کہا
اَكۡفِلۡنِيۡهَا
akfil'nīhā
Entrust her to me
مجھے سونپ دے اس کو
وَعَزَّنِىۡ
waʿazzanī
and he overpowered me
اور اس نے غلبہ پالیا مجھ پر
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡخِطَابِ
l-khiṭābi
[the] speech
کلام/ گفتگو میں
Urdu —
بے شک یہ میرا بھائی ہے، اِس کی ننانوے دُنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس ایک ہی دُنبی ہے، پھر کہتا ہے یہ (بھی) میرے حوالہ کر دو اور گفتگو میں (بھی) مجھے دبا لیتا ہےo
— English
Indeed this, my brother, has ninety-nine ewes, and I have one ewe; so he said, 'Entrust her to me,' and he overpowered me in speech."
قَالَ لَقَدۡ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعۡجَتِكَ اِلٰى نِعَاجِهٖؕ وَاِنَّ كَثِيۡرًا مِّنَ الۡخُلَطَآءِ لَيَبۡغِىۡ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلٰى بَعۡضٍ اِلَّا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَقَلِيۡلٌ مَّا هُمۡؕ وَظَنَّ دَاوٗدُ اَنَّمَا فَتَنّٰهُ فَاسۡتَغۡفَرَ رَبَّهٗ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَّاَنَابَ
— Transliteration
Qala laqad thalamakabisu-ali naAAjatika ila niAAajihi wa-innakatheeran mina alkhulata-i layabghee baAAduhum AAalabaAAdin illa allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati waqaleelun mahum wathanna dawoodu annama fatannahufastaghfara rabbahu wakharra rakiAAan waanab
قَالَ

He said
اس نے کہا
لَقَدۡ
laqad
`Certainly,
البتہ تحقیق
ظَلَمَكَ
ẓalamaka
he has wronged you
ظلم کیا ہے تجھ پر
بِسُؤَالِ
bisuāli
by demanding
سوال مانگنے پر/ سوال کے ساتھ
نَعۡجَتِكَ
naʿjatika
your ewe
تیری دنبی کے
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
نِعَاجِهٖ ؕ
niʿājihi
his ewes
اپنی دنبیوں کے (ملانے کا)
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
كَثِيۡرًا
kathīran
many
بہت سے
مِّنَ
mina
of
میں سے
الۡخُلَـطَآءِ
l-khulaṭāi
the partners
شراکت داروں
لَيَبۡغِىۡ
layabghī
certainly oppress
البتہ زیادتی کرتے ہیں
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
baʿḍuhum
some of them
ان میں سے بعض/بعض ان کے
عَلٰى
ʿalā
[on]
پر
بَعۡضٍ
baʿḍin
another
بعض
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
وہ لوگ
اٰمَنُوۡا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
اور انہوں نے عمل کئے
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
اچھے
وَقَلِيۡلٌ
waqalīlun
and few
اور کتنے تھوڑے ہیں
مَّا
mā
**(are) they.`
هُمۡ ؕ
hum
**(are) they.`
وہ
وَظَنَّ
waẓanna
And became certain
اور سمجھ گیا
دَاوٗدُ
dāwūdu
Dawood
داؤد
اَنَّمَا
annamā
that
بیشک
فَتَنّٰهُ
fatannāhu
We (had) tried him
آزمایا ہم نے ان کو
فَاسۡتَغۡفَرَ
fa-is'taghfara
and he asked forgiveness
پس انہوں نے بخشش مانگی
رَبَّهٗ
rabbahu
(of) his Lord
اپنے رب سے
وَخَرَّ
wakharra
and fell down
اور گرپڑے
رَاكِعًا
rākiʿan
bowing
رکوع کرتے ہوئے
وَّاَنَابَ ۩
wa-anāba
and turned in repentance
اور انہوں نے رجوع کرلیا
Urdu —
داؤد (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: تمہاری دُنبی کو اپنی دُنبیوں سے ملانے کا سوال کر کے اس نے تم سے زیادتی کی ہے اور بیشک اکثر شریک ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی کرتے ہیں سوائے اُن لوگوں کے جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کئے، اور ایسے لوگ بہت کم ہیں۔ اور داؤد (علیہ السلام) نے خیال کیا کہ ہم نے (اس مقدّمہ کے ذریعہ) اُن کی آزمائش کی ہے، سو انہوں نے اپنے رب سے مغفرت طلب کی اور سجدہ میں گر پڑے اور توبہ کیo
— English
[David] said, "He has certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe [in addition] to his ewes. And indeed, many associates oppress one another, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds - and few are they." And David became certain that We had tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing [in prostration] and turned in repentance [to Allah].
فَغَفَرۡنَا لَهٗ ذٰلِكَؕ وَاِنَّ لَهٗ عِنۡدَنَا لَزُلۡفٰى وَحُسۡنَ مَاٰبٍ
— Transliteration
Faghafarna lahu thalikawa-inna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maab
فَغَفَرۡنَا
faghafarnā
So We forgave
پس بخش دیا ہم نے
لَهٗ
lahu
for him
ان کے لئے
ذٰ لِكَ ؕ
dhālika
that.
اس بات کو
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
لَهٗ
lahu
for him
ان کے لئے
عِنۡدَنَا
ʿindanā
with Us
ہمارے ہاں
لَزُلۡفٰى
lazul'fā
surely is a near access
البتہ تقریب کا مقام ہے
وَحُسۡنَ
waḥus'na
and a od
اور بہتر
مَاٰبٍ
maābin
place of return
انجام
Urdu —
تو ہم نے اُن کو معاف فرما دیا، اور بے شک اُن کے لئے ہماری بارگاہ میں قربِ خاص ہے اور (آخرت میں) اَعلیٰ مقام ہےo
— English
So We forgave him that; and indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return.
يٰدَاوٗدُ اِنَّا جَعَلۡنٰكَ خَلِيۡفَةً فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ فَاحۡكُمۡ بَيۡنَ النَّاسِ بِالۡحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الۡهَوٰى فَيُضِلَّكَ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِؕ اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ يَضِلُّوۡنَ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ شَدِيۡدٌۢ بِمَا نَسُوۡا يَوۡمَ الۡحِسَابِ
— Transliteration
Ya dawoodu inna jaAAalnakakhaleefatan fee al-ardi fahkum bayna annasibilhaqqi wala tattabiAAi alhawa fayudillakaAAan sabeeli Allahi inna allatheena yadilloonaAAan sabeeli Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun bimanasoo yawma alhisab
يٰدَاوٗدُ
yādāwūdu
`O Dawood!
اے داؤد
اِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
بیشک ہم نے
جَعَلۡنٰكَ
jaʿalnāka
[We] have made you
بنایا تجھ کو
خَلِيۡفَةً
khalīfatan
a vicegerent
ایک خلیفہ
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین
فَاحۡكُمۡ
fa-uḥ'kum
so judge
پس فیصلہ کرو
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
درمیان
النَّاسِ
l-nāsi
[the] men
لوگوں کے
بِالۡحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
حق کے ساتھ
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
اور نہ
تَتَّبِعِ
tattabiʿi
follow
تم پیروی کرو
الۡهَوٰى
l-hawā
the desire
خواہش نفس کی
فَيُضِلَّكَ
fayuḍillaka
for it will lead you astray
تو وہ بھٹکادے گی تجھ کو
عَنۡ
ʿan
from
سے
سَبِيۡلِ
sabīli
(the) way
راستے
اللّٰهِ ؕ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کے
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
وہ لوگ
يَضِلُّوۡنَ
yaḍillūna
astray
جو بھٹکتے ہیں
عَنۡ
ʿan
from
سے
سَبِيۡلِ
sabīli
(the) way
راستے
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کے
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
ان کے لئے
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
عذاب ہے
شَدِيۡدٌۢ
shadīdun
severe
شدید
بِمَا
bimā
because
بوجہ اس کے
نَسُوۡا
nasū
they fort
جو وہ بھول گئے
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(the) Day
دن کو
الۡحِسَابِ
l-ḥisābi
(of) Account
حساب کے
Urdu —
اے داؤد! بے شک ہم نے آپ کو زمین میں (اپنا) نائب بنایا سو تم لوگوں کے درمیان حق و انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلے (یا حکومت) کیا کرو اور خواہش کی پیروی نہ کرنا ورنہ (یہ پیروی) تمہیں راہِ خدا سے بھٹکا دے گی، بے شک جو لوگ اﷲ کی راہ سے بھٹک جاتے ہیں اُن کے لئے سخت عذاب ہے اس وجہ سے کہ وہ یومِ حساب کو بھول گئےo
— English
[We said], "O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from the way of Allah." Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account.
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا السَّمَآءَ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا بَاطِلاً ؕ ذٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡاۚ فَوَيۡلٌ لِّلَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنَ النَّارِؕ
— Transliteration
Wama khalaqna assamaawal-arda wama baynahuma batilanthalika thannu allatheena kafaroofawaylun lillatheena kafaroo mina annar
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
خَلَقۡنَا
khalaqnā
We created
پیدا کیا ہم نے
السَّمَآءَ
l-samāa
the heaven
آسمان کو
وَالۡاَرۡضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
اور زمین کو
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
اور جو
بَيۡنَهُمَا
baynahumā
(is) between them
ان دونوں کے درمیان ہے
بَاطِلًا ؕ
bāṭilan
without purpose
باطل/ بےکار
ذٰ لِكَ
dhālika
That
یہ
ظَنُّ
ẓannu
(is the) assumption
گمان ہے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
ان لوگوں کا
كَفَرُوۡاۚ
kafarū
disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
فَوَيۡلٌ
fawaylun
So woe
پس ہلاکت ہے
لِّلَّذِيۡنَ
lilladhīna
to those
ان لوگوں کے لئے
كَفَرُوۡا
kafarū
who disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
مِنَ
mina
from
سے
النَّارِؕ
l-nāri
the Fire
آگ
Urdu —
اور ہم نے آسمانوں کو اور زمین کو اور جو کائنات دونوں کے درمیان ہے اسے بے مقصد و بے مصلحت نہیں بنایا۔ یہ (بے مقصد یعنی اتفاقیہ تخلیق) کافر لوگوں کا خیال و نظریہ ہے۔ سو کافر لوگوں کے لئے آتشِ دوزخ کی ہلاکت ہےo
— English
And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.
اَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِ كَالۡمُفۡسِدِيۡنَ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ اَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ كَالۡفُجَّارِ
— Transliteration
Am najAAalu allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati kalmufsideenafee al-ardi am najAAalu almuttaqeena kalfujjar
اَمۡ
am
Or
کیا ہم
نَجۡعَلُ
najʿalu
should We treat
کردیں گے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں کو
اٰمَنُوۡا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
اور انہوں نےعمل کئے
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
اچھے
كَالۡمُفۡسِدِيۡنَ
kal-muf'sidīna
like those who spread corruption
مانند ان کے جو فساد کرنے والے ہیں
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین
اَمۡ
am
Or
یا
نَجۡعَلُ
najʿalu
should We treat
ہم کردیں گے
الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ
l-mutaqīna
the pious
متقی لوگوں کو
كَالۡفُجَّارِ
kal-fujāri
like the wicked
بدکاروں کی طرح
Urdu —
کیا ہم اُن لوگوں کو جو ایمان لائے اور اعمالِ صالحہ بجا لائے اُن لوگوں جیسا کر دیں گے جو زمین میں فساد بپا کرنے والے ہیں یا ہم پرہیزگاروں کو بدکرداروں جیسا بنا دیں گےo
— English
Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked?
كِتٰبٌ اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُ اِلَيۡكَ مُبٰرَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوۡۤا اٰيٰتِهٖ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ اُولُوۡا الۡاَلۡبَابِ
— Transliteration
Kitabun anzalnahu ilayka mubarakunliyaddabbaroo ayatihi waliyatathakkara olooal-albab
كِتٰبٌ
kitābun
(This is) a Book
ایک کتاب ہے
اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُ
anzalnāhu
We have revealed it
نازل کیا ہم نے اس کو
اِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
to you
آپ کی طرف
مُبٰرَكٌ
mubārakun
blessed
بہت برکتوں والی ہے
لِّيَدَّبَّرُوۡۤا
liyaddabbarū
that they may ponder
تاکہ وہ غورو فکر کریں
اٰيٰتِهٖ
āyātihi
(over) its Verses
اس کی آیات ہیں
وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ
waliyatadhakkara
and may be reminded
اور تاکہ نصیحت پکڑیں
اُولُوا
ulū
those of understanding
والے
الۡاَلۡبَابِ
l-albābi
those of understanding
عقل والے
Urdu —
یہ کتاب برکت والی ہے جسے ہم نے آپ کی طرف نازل فرمایا ہے تاکہ دانش مند لوگ اس کی آیتوں میں غور و فکر کریں اور نصیحت حاصل کریںo
— English
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.
وَوَهَبۡنَا لِدَاوٗدَ سُلَيۡمٰنَؕ نِعۡمَ الۡعَبۡدُؕ اِنَّهٗۤ اَوَّابٌؕ
— Transliteration
Wawahabna lidawooda sulaymananiAAma alAAabdu innahu awwab
وَوَهَبۡنَا
wawahabnā
And We gave
اور عطا کیا ہم نے
لِدَاوٗدَ
lidāwūda
to Dawood
داؤد کے لئے
سُلَيۡمٰنَ ؕ
sulaymāna
Sulaiman,
سلیمان کو
نِعۡمَ
niʿ'ma
an excellent
کتنا اچھا
الۡعَبۡدُ ؕ
l-ʿabdu
slave
بندہ تھا وہ
اِنَّـهٗۤ
innahu
Indeed, he
بیشک وہ
اَوَّابٌ ؕ
awwābun
(was) one who repeatedly turned
بہت رجوع کرنے والا تھا
Urdu —
اور ہم نے داؤد (علیہ السلام) کو (فرزند) سلیمان (علیہ السلام) بخشا، وہ کیا خوب بندہ تھا، بے شک وہ بڑی کثرت سے توبہ کرنے والا ہےo
— English
And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].
اِذۡ عُرِضَ عَلَيۡهِ بِالۡعَشِىِّ الصّٰفِنٰتُ الۡجِيَادُۙ
— Transliteration
Ith AAurida AAalayhi bilAAashiyyiassafinatu aljiyad
اِذۡ
idh
When
جب
عُرِضَ
ʿuriḍa
were displayed
پیش کئے گئے
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
to him
اس پر
بِالۡعَشِىِّ
bil-ʿashiyi
in the afternoon
شام کے وقت
الصّٰفِنٰتُ
l-ṣāfinātu
excellent bred steeds
اصیل گھوڑے
الۡجِيَادُ ۙ
l-jiyādu
excellent bred steeds
عمدہ
Urdu —
جب اُن کے سامنے شام کے وقت نہایت سُبک رفتار عمدہ گھوڑے پیش کئے گئےo
— English
[Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses.
فَقَالَ اِنِّىۡۤ اَحۡبَبۡتُ حُبَّ الۡخَيۡرِ عَنۡ ذِكۡرِ رَبِّىۡۚ حَتّٰى تَوَارَتۡ بِالۡحِجَابِ
— Transliteration
Faqala innee ahbabtu hubbaalkhayri AAan thikri rabbee hatta tawaratbilhijab
فَقَالَ
faqāla
And he said
تو اس نے کہا
اِنِّىۡۤ
innī
`Indeed, I
بیشک میں نے
اَحۡبَبۡتُ
aḥbabtu

سورج چھپ گیا
بِالۡحِجَابِ
bil-ḥijābi
in the veil
پردے میں
Urdu —
تو انہوں نے (اِنابۃً) کہا: میں مال (یعنی گھوڑوں) کی محبت کو اپنے رب کے ذکر سے بھی (زیادہ) پسند کر بیٹھا ہوں یہاں تک کہ (سورج رات کے) پردے میں چھپ گیاo
— English
And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]."
رُدُّوۡهَا عَلَىَّ ؕ فَطَفِقَ مَسۡحًۢا بِالسُّوۡقِ وَالۡاَعۡنَاقِ
— Transliteration
Ruddooha AAalayya fatafiqa mashanbissooqi wal-aAAnaq
رُدُّوۡهَا
ruddūhā
Return them
پھیر لاؤ ان کو
عَلَىَّ ؕ
ʿalayya
to me.`
مجھ پر
فَطَفِقَ
faṭafiqa
Then he began
تو شروع کیا/ تو لگے
مَسۡحًۢا
masḥan
(to) pass (his hand)
ہاتھ پھیرنا/ ہاتھ پھیرتے
بِالسُّوۡقِ
bil-sūqi
over the legs
پنڈلیوں پر
وَ الۡاَعۡنَاقِ
wal-aʿnāqi
and the necks
اور گردنوں پر
Urdu —
انہوں نے کہا: اُن (گھوڑوں) کو میرے پاس واپس لاؤ، تو انہوں نے (تلوار سے) اُن کی پنڈلیاں اور گردنیں کاٹ ڈالیں (یوں اپنی محبت کو اﷲ کے تقرّب کے لئے ذبح کر دیا)o
— English
[He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks.
وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا سُلَيۡمٰنَ وَاَلۡقَيۡنَا عَلٰى كُرۡسِيِّهٖ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ اَنَابَ
— Transliteration
Walaqad fatanna sulaymanawaalqayna AAala kursiyyihi jasadan thumma anab
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
اور البتہ تحقیق
فَتَنَّا
fatannā
We tried
آزمایا ہم نے
سُلَيۡمٰنَ
sulaymāna
Sulaiman,
سلیمان کو
وَاَلۡقَيۡنَا
wa-alqaynā
and We placed
اور ڈال دیا ہم نے
عَلٰى
ʿalā
on
پر
كُرۡسِيِّهٖ
kur'siyyihi
his throne
اس کی کرسی
جَسَدًا
jasadan
a body
ایک جسم
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
پھر
اَنَابَ
anāba
he turned
اس نے رجوع کرلیا
Urdu —
اور بے شک ہم نے سلیمان (علیہ السلام) کی (بھی) آزمائش کی اور ہم نے اُن کے تخت پر ایک (عجیب الخلقت) جسم ڈال دیا پھر انہوں نے دوبارہ (سلطنت) پا لیo
— English
And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned.
قَالَ رَبِّ اغۡفِرۡ لِىۡ وَهَبۡ لِىۡ مُلۡكًا لَّا يَنۡۢبَغِىۡ لِاَحَدٍ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِىۡۚ اِنَّكَ اَنۡتَ الۡوَهَّابُ
— Transliteration
Qala rabbi ighfir lee wahab leemulkan la yanbaghee li-ahadin min baAAdee innakaanta alwahhab
قَالَ

رَبِّ
rabbi
O my Lord
اے میرے رب
اغۡفِرۡ
igh'fir
Forgive
بخش دے
لِىۡ

میرے لئے/ مجھ کو
وَهَبۡ

and grant
اور عطا کر

مجھ کو
مُلۡكًا
mul'kan
a kingdom
ایسی بادشاہت
لَّا

يَنۡۢبَغِىۡ

(will) belong
حاصل ہو
لِاَحَدٍ

to anyone
کسی ایک کو
مِّنۡۢ

**after me.
بَعۡدِىۡۚ

میرے بعد
اِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed, You
بیشک تو
اَنۡتَ
anta
[You]
تو ہی
الۡوَهَّابُ
l-wahābu
(are) the Bestower
داتا ہے/ بہت بخشنے والا ہے
Urdu —
عرض کیا: اے میرے پروردگار! مجھے بخش دے، اور مجھے ایسی حکومت عطا فرما کہ میرے بعد کسی کو میسّر نہ ہو، بیشک تو ہی بڑا عطا فرمانے والا ہےo
— English
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
فَسَخَّرۡنَا لَهُ الرِّيۡحَ تَجۡرِىۡ بِاَمۡرِهٖ رُخَآءً حَيۡثُ اَصَابَۙ
— Transliteration
Fasakhkharna lahu arreehatajree bi-amrihi rukhaan haythu asab
فَسَخَّرۡنَا
fasakharnā
Then We subjected
تو مسخر کیا ہم نے
لَهُ
lahu
to him
اس کے لئے
الرِّيۡحَ
l-rīḥa
the wind
ہوا کو
تَجۡرِىۡ
tajrī
to flow
جو چلتی تھی
بِاَمۡرِهٖ
bi-amrihi
by his command
اس کے حکم سے
رُخَآءً
rukhāan
gently
نرمی سے
حَيۡثُ
ḥaythu
wherever
جہاں
اَصَابَۙ
aṣāba
he directed
وہ پہنچنا چاہتے/ وہ جاتے
Urdu —
پھر ہم نے اُن کے لئے ہوا کو تابع کر دیا، وہ اُن کے حکم سے نرم نرم چلتی تھی جہاں کہیں (بھی) وہ پہنچنا چاہتےo
— English
So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed,
وَالشَّيٰطِيۡنَ كُلَّ بَنَّآءٍ وَّغَوَّاصٍۙ
— Transliteration
Washshayateena kulla banna-inwaghawwas
وَالشَّيٰطِيۡنَ
wal-shayāṭīna
And the devils
اور شیاطین کو
كُلَّ
kulla
every
ہر طرح کے
بَنَّآءٍ
bannāin
builder
معمار
وَّغَوَّاصٍۙ
waghawwāṣin
and diver
اور غوطہ خور
Urdu —
اور کل جنّات (و شیاطین بھی ان کے تابع کر دیئے) اور ہر معمار اور غوطہ زَن (بھی)o
— English
And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver
وَّاٰخَرِيۡنَ مُقَرَّنِيۡنَ فِىۡ الۡاَصۡفَادِ
— Transliteration
Waakhareena muqarraneena fee al-asfad
وَّاٰخَرِيۡنَ
waākharīna
And others
اور کچھ دوسرے
مُقَرَّنِيۡنَ
muqarranīna
bound
جکڑے ہوئے
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
الۡاَصۡفَادِ
l-aṣfādi
chains
بیڑیوں
Urdu —
اور دوسرے (جنّات) بھی جو زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے تھےo
— English
And others bound together in shackles.
هٰذَا عَطَآؤُنَا فَامۡنُنۡ اَوۡ اَمۡسِكۡ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٍ
— Transliteration
Hatha AAataona famnunaw amsik bighayri hisab
هٰذَا
hādhā
`This

عَطَآؤُنَا

(is) Our gift
ہماری بخشش تھی
فَامۡنُنۡ
fa-um'nun
so grant
پس احسان کر
اَوۡ

حِسَابٍ

حساب کے
Urdu —
(ارشاد ہوا:) یہ ہماری عطا ہے (خواہ دوسروں پر) احسان کرو یا (اپنے تک) روکے رکھو (دونوں حالتوں میں) کوئی حساب نہیںo
— English
[We said], "This is Our gift, so grant or withhold without account."
وَاِنَّ لَهٗ عِنۡدَنَا لَزُلۡفٰى وَحُسۡنَ مَاٰبٍ
— Transliteration
Wa-inna lahu AAindana lazulfawahusna maab
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
لَهٗ
lahu
for him
اس کے لئے
عِنۡدَنَا
ʿindanā
with Us
ہمارے پاس
لَزُلۡفٰى
lazul'fā
surely is a near access
البتہ قرب خاص ہے
وَحُسۡنَ
waḥus'na
and a od
اور بہترین
مَاٰبٍ
maābin
place of return
ٹھکانہ ہے
Urdu —
اور بے شک اُن کے لئے ہماری بارگاہ میں خصوصی قربت اور آخرت میں عمدہ مقام ہےo
— English
And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return.
وَاذۡكُرۡ عَبۡدَنَاۤ اَيُّوۡبَۘ اِذۡ نَادٰى رَبَّهٗۤ اَنِّىۡ مَسَّنِىَ الشَّيۡطٰنُ بِنُصۡبٍ وَّعَذَابٍؕ
— Transliteration
Wathkur AAabdanaayyooba ith nada rabbahu annee massaniya ashshaytanubinusbin waAAathab
وَاذۡكُرۡ
wa-udh'kur
And remember
اور ذکر کیجئے
عَبۡدَنَاۤ
ʿabdanā
Our slave
ہمارے بندے
اَيُّوۡبَۘ
ayyūba
Ayyub,
ایوب کا
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
نَادٰى
nādā
he called
انہوں نے پکارا
رَبَّهٗۤ
rabbahu
his Lord
اپنے رب کو
اَنِّىۡ
annī
`That [I],
بیشک مجھے
مَسَّنِىَ
massaniya
(has) touched me
چھوڑا ہے مجھ کو
الشَّيۡطٰنُ
l-shayṭānu
Shaitaan
شیطان نے
بِنُصۡبٍ
binuṣ'bin
with distress
ساتھ تکلیف کے/ مشقت کے، ایذاء کے
وَّعَذَابٍؕ
waʿadhābin
and suffering
، اور عذاب کے
Urdu —
اور ہمارے بندے ایّوب (علیہ السلام) کا ذکر کیجئے جب انہوں نے اپنے رب کو پکارا کہ مجھے شیطان نے بڑی اذیّت اور تکلیف پہنچائی ہےo
— English
And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment."
ارۡكُضۡ بِرِجۡلِكَۚ هٰذَا مُغۡتَسَلٌ ۢ بَارِدٌ وَّشَرَابٌ
— Transliteration
Orkud birijlika hathamughtasalun baridun washarab
اُرۡكُضۡ
ur'kuḍ
Strike
تم مارو
بِرِجۡلِكَ ۚ
birij'lika
with your foot
اپنا پاؤں
هٰذَا
hādhā
This
یہ
مُغۡتَسَلٌ ۢ
mugh'tasalun
(is a spring of) water to bathe
نہانے کا پانی ہے
بَارِدٌ
bāridun
cool
ٹھنڈا
وَّشَرَابٌ
washarābun
and a drink
اور پینے کاپانی
Urdu —
(ارشاد ہوا:) تم اپنا پاؤں زمین پر مارو، یہ (پانی کا) ٹھنڈا چشمہ ہے نہانے کے لئے اور پینے کے لئےo
— English
[So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink."
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهٗۤ اَهۡلَهٗ وَمِثۡلَهُمۡ مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكۡرٰى لِاُولِىۡ الۡاَلۡبَابِ
— Transliteration
Wawahabna lahu ahlahu wamithlahummaAAahum rahmatan minna wathikrali-olee al-albab
وَوَهَبۡنَا
wawahabnā
And We granted
اور عطا کئے ہم نے
لَهٗۤ
lahu
[to] him
اس کو
اَهۡلَهٗ
ahlahu
his family
اس کے گھر والے
وَمِثۡلَهُمۡ
wamith'lahum
and a like of them
اور ان کے مثل
مَّعَهُمۡ
maʿahum
with them,
ان کے ساتھ
رَحۡمَةً
raḥmatan
a Mercy
بطور رحمت
مِّنَّا
minnā
from Us
ہماری طرف سے
وَذِكۡرٰى
wadhik'rā
and a Reminder
اور ایک نصیحت
لِاُولِى
li-ulī
for those of understanding
عقل والوں کے لئے
الۡاَلۡبَابِ
l-albābi
for those of understanding
عقل والوں کے لئے
Urdu —
اور ہم نے اُن کو اُن کے اہل و عیال اور اُن کے ساتھ اُن کے برابر (مزید اہل و عیال) عطا کر دیئے، ہماری طرف سے خصوصی رحمت کے طور پر، اور دانش مندوں کے لئے نصیحت کے طور پرo
— English
And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding.
وَخُذۡ بِيَدِكَ ضِغۡثًا فَاضۡرِب بِّهٖ وَلَا تَحۡنَثۡؕ اِنَّا وَجَدۡنٰهُ صَابِرًاؕ نِّعۡمَ الۡعَبۡدُؕ اِنَّـهٗۤ اَوَّابٌ
— Transliteration
Wakhuth biyadika dighthan fadribbihi wala tahnath inna wajadnahu sabiranniAAma alAAabdu innahu awwab
وَخُذۡ
wakhudh
And take
اور لے لو
بِيَدِكَ
biyadika
in your hand
اپنے ہاتھ کے ساتھ
ضِغۡثًا
ḍigh'than
a bunch
تنکوں کا چھوٹا سا مٹھا
فَاضۡرِبْ
fa-iḍ'rib
and strike
پھر مار
بِّهٖ
bihi
with it
ساتھ اس کے
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
اور نہ
تَحۡنَثۡؕ
taḥnath
break (your) oath
اپنی قسم توڑ
اِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
بیشک ہم نے
وَجَدۡنٰهُ
wajadnāhu
[We] found him
پایا ہم نے اس کو
صَابِرًا ؕ
ṣābiran
patient
صابر/ صابر کرنے والا
نِعۡمَ
niʿ'ma
an excellent
کتنا اچھا
الۡعَبۡدُ ؕ
l-ʿabdu
slave
بندہ تھا وہ/ بہترین بندہ
اِنَّـهٗۤ
innahu
Indeed, he
بیشک وہ
اَوَّابٌ
awwābun
repeatedly turned
بہت زیادہ رجوع کرنے والا تھا
Urdu —
(اے ایوب!) تم اپنے ہاتھ میں (سَو) تنکوں کی جھاڑو پکڑ لو اور (اپنی قسم پوری کرنے کے لئے) اس سے (ایک بار اپنی زوجہ کو) مارو اور قسم نہ توڑو، بے شک ہم نے اسے ثابت قدم پایا، (ایّوب علیہ السلام) کیا خوب بندہ تھا، بے شک وہ (ہماری طرف) بہت رجوع کرنے والا تھاo
— English
[We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].
وَاذۡكُرۡ عِبٰدَنَاۤ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَاِسۡحٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوۡبَ اُولِىۡ الۡاَيۡدِىۡ وَالۡاَبۡصَارِ
— Transliteration
Wathkur AAibadanaibraheema wa-ishaqa wayaAAqooba olee al-aydee wal-absar
وَاذۡكُرۡ
wa-udh'kur
And remember
اور ذکر کرو
عِبٰدَنَاۤ
ʿibādanā
Our slaves
ہمارے بندوں،
اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ
ib'rāhīma
Ibrahim
ابراہیم کا
وَاِسۡحٰقَ
wa-is'ḥāqa
and Isaac
اور اسحاق کا
وَيَعۡقُوۡبَ
wayaʿqūba
and Ya'qub,
اور یعقوب کا
اُولِى
ulī
possessors
والے
الۡاَيۡدِىۡ
l-aydī
(of) strength
ہاتھوں والے
وَالۡاَبۡصَارِ
wal-abṣāri
and vision
اور نگاہوں والے/ آنکھوں والے تھے
Urdu —
اور ہمارے بندوں ابراہیم اور اسحاق اور یعقوب (علیھم السلام) کا ذکر کیجئے جو بڑی قوّت والے اور نظر والے تھےo
— English
And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision.
اِنَّاۤ اَخۡلَصۡنٰهُمۡ بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكۡرَى الدَّارِۚ
— Transliteration
Inna akhlasnahum bikhalisatinthikra addar
اِنَّاۤ
innā
Indeed, We
بیشک ہم نے
اَخۡلَصۡنٰهُمۡ
akhlaṣnāhum
[We] chose them
خالص کرلیا تھا ہم نے ان کو
بِخَالِصَةٍ
bikhāliṣatin
for an exclusive (quality)
خالص کرنا
ذِكۡرَى
dhik'rā
remembrance
یاد کا
الدَّارِۚ
l-dāri
(of) the Home
اصلی گھر کی
Urdu —
بے شک ہم نے اُن کو آخرت کے گھر کی یاد کی خاص (خصلت) کی وجہ سے چن لیا تھاo
— English
Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter].
وَاِنَّهُمۡ عِنۡدَنَا لَمِنَ الۡمُصۡطَفَيۡنَ الۡاَخۡيَارِؕ
— Transliteration
Wa-innahum AAindana lamina almustafaynaal-akhyar
وَاِنَّهُمۡ
wa-innahum
And indeed, they
اور بیشک وہ
عِنۡدَنَا
ʿindanā
to Us
ہمارے نزدیک
لَمِنَ
lamina
(are) from
البتہ میں سے تھے
الۡمُصۡطَفَيۡنَ
l-muṣ'ṭafayna
the chosen ones
چنے ہوؤں
الۡاَخۡيَارِؕ
l-akhyāri
the best
نیک لوگوں میں سے تھے/ اچھے لوگوں میں سے تھے
Urdu —
اور بے شک وہ ہمارے حضور بڑے منتخب و برگزیدہ (اور) پسندیدہ بندوں میں سے تھےo
— English
And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding.
وَاذۡكُرۡ اِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ وَالۡيَسَعَ وَذَا الۡكِفۡلِؕ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الۡاَخۡيَارِؕ
— Transliteration
Wathkur ismaAAeelawa-ilyasaAAa watha alkifli wakullun mina al-akhyar
وَاذۡكُرۡ
wa-udh'kur
And remember
اور یاد کیجئے
اِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ
is'māʿīla
Ishmael
اسماعیل کو
وَ الۡيَسَعَ
wal-yasaʿa
and Elisha
اور الیسع کو
وَذَا
wadhā
**and Dhul-kifl,
اور
الۡكِفۡلِؕ
l-kif'li
and Dhul-kifl
ذوالکفل کو
وَكُلٌّ
wakullun
and all
اور وہ سب کے سب
مِّنَ
mina
(are) from
میں سے تھے
الۡاَخۡيَارِؕ
l-akhyāri
the best
نیک لوگوں
Urdu —
اور آپ اسماعیل اور الیسع اور ذوالکفل (علیھم السلام) کا (بھی) ذکر کیجئے، اور وہ سارے کے سارے چنے ہوئے لوگوں میں سے تھےo
— English
And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding.
هٰذَا ذِكۡرٌؕ وَاِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ لَحُسۡنَ مَاٰبٍۙ
— Transliteration
Hatha thikrun wa-innalilmuttaqeena lahusna maab
هٰذَا
hādhā
This
یہ
ذِكۡرٌؕ
dhik'run
(is) a Reminder
ایک ذکر تھا
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ
lil'muttaqīna
for the righteous
سب متقی لوگوں کے لئے
لَحُسۡنَ
laḥus'na
surely, is a od
البتہ اچھا
مَاٰبٍۙ
maābin
place of return
ٹھکانہ ہے
Urdu —
یہ (وہ) ذکر ہے (جس کا بیان اس سورت کی پہلی آیت میں ہے)، اور بے شک پرہیزگاروں کے لئے عمدہ ٹھکانا ہےo
— English
This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return
جَنّٰتِ عَدۡنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الۡاَبۡوَابُۚ
— Transliteration
Jannati AAadnin mufattahatanlahumu al-abwab
جَنّٰتِ
jannāti
Gardens
باغات
عَدۡنٍ
ʿadnin
(of) Eternity,
ہمیشگی کے
مُّفَتَّحَةً
mufattaḥatan
(will be) opened
کھلے ہوئے ہیں/ کھولے جاچکے ہیں
لَّهُمُ
lahumu
for them
ان کے لئے
الۡاَبۡوَابُۚ
l-abwābu
the gates
دروازے
Urdu —
(جو) دائمی اِقامت کے لئے باغاتِ عدن ہیں جن کے دروازے اُن کے لئے کھلے ہوں گےo
— English
Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them.
مُتَّكِـــِٕيۡنَ فِيۡهَا يَدۡعُوۡنَ فِيۡهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيۡرَةٍ وَّشَرَابٍ
— Transliteration
Muttaki-eena feeha yadAAoona feehabifakihatin katheeratin washarab
مُتَّكِـــِٕيۡنَ
muttakiīna
Reclining
تکیہ لگائے ہوئے ہوں گے
فِيۡهَا
fīhā
therein,
ان میں
يَدۡعُوۡنَ
yadʿūna
they will call
طلب کریں گے وہ
فِيۡهَا
fīhā
therein
ان میں
بِفَاكِهَةٍ
bifākihatin
for fruit
پھل
كَثِيۡرَةٍ
kathīratin
many
بہت سے
وَّشَرَابٍ
washarābin
and drink
اور مشروبات
Urdu —
وہ اس میں (مَسندوں پر) تکیے لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے اس میں (وقفے وقفے سے) بہت سے عمدہ پھل اور میوے اور (لذیذ) شربت طلب کرتے رہیں گےo
— English
Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink.
وَعِنۡدَهُمۡ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرۡفِ اَتۡرَابٌ
— Transliteration
WaAAindahum qasiratu attarfiatrab
۞ وَعِنۡدَهُمۡ
waʿindahum
And with them
اور ان کے پاس ہوں گی
قٰصِرٰتُ
qāṣirātu
(will be) companions of modest gaze
جھکانے والیاں
الطَّرۡفِ
l-ṭarfi
(will be) companions of modest gaze
نگاہوں کو
اَتۡرَابٌ
atrābun
well-matched
ہم عمر
Urdu —
اور اُن کے پاس نیچی نگاہوں والی (باحیا) ہم عمر (حوریں) ہوں گیo
— English
And with them will be women limiting [their] glances and of equal age.
هٰذَا مَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لِيَوۡمِ الۡحِسَابِ
— Transliteration
Hatha ma tooAAadoona liyawmialhisab
هٰذَا

تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ

you are promised
تم وعدہ کئے جاتے تھے
لِيَوۡمِ

for (the) Day

(of) Account
حساب کے
Urdu —
یہ وہ نعمتیں ہیں جن کا روزِ حساب کے لئے تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہےo
— English
This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account.
اِنَّ هٰذَا لَرِزۡقُنَا مَا لَهٗ مِنۡ نَّفَادٍ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
Inna hatha larizquna malahu min nafad
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
هٰذَا

this
یہ
لَرِزۡقُنَا
lariz'qunā
(is) surely Our provision
البتہ ہمارا رزق ہے
مَا

not
نہیں ہے
لَهٗ

for it
اس کے لئے

نَّـفَادٍ ۖ ۚ
nafādin
depletion
کم ہونا/ ختم ہونا
Urdu —
بیشک یہ ہماری بخشش ہے اسے کبھی بھی ختم نہیں ہوناo
— English
Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion.
هٰذَاؕ وَاِنَّ لِلطّٰغِيۡنَ لَشَرَّ مَاٰبٍۙ
— Transliteration
Hatha wa-inna littagheenalasharra maab
هٰذَا ؕ
hādhā
This (is so)!
یہ تو ہے یہ بات
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
لِلطّٰغِيۡنَ
lilṭṭāghīna
for the transgressors
سرکش لوگوں کے لئے
لَشَرَّ
lasharra
surely (is) an evil
البتہ بہت برا
مَاٰبٍ ۙ
maābin
place of return
ٹھکانہ ہے
Urdu —
یہ (تو مومنوں کے لئے ہے)، اور بے شک سرکشوں کے لئے بہت ہی برا ٹھکانا ہےo
— English
This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return -
جَهَنَّمَۚ يَصۡلَوۡنَهَاۚ فَبِئۡسَ الۡمِهَادُ
— Transliteration
Jahannama yaslawnaha fabi/saalmihad
جَهَـنَّمَ ۚ
jahannama
Hell;
جہنم
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا ۚ
yaṣlawnahā
they will burn therein
وہ داخل ہوں گے اس میں
فَبِئۡسَ
fabi'sa
and wretched (is)
تو بہت ہی برا
الۡمِهَادُ
l-mihādu
the resting place
ٹھکانہ
Urdu —
(وہ) دوزخ ہے، اس میں وہ داخل ہوں گے، سو بہت ہی بُرا بچھونا ہےo
— English
Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place.
هٰذَا ۙ فَلۡيَذُوۡقُوۡهُ حَمِيۡمٌ وَّغَسَّاقٌۙ
— Transliteration
Hatha falyathooqoohu hameemunwaghassaq
هٰذَا ۙ
hādhā
This (is so)!
یہ ہے (یہ بات)
فَلۡيَذُوۡقُوۡهُ
falyadhūqūhu
Then let them taste it
پس ضرور وہ چکھیں گے اس کو
حَمِيۡمٌ
ḥamīmun
boiling fluid
جو کھولتا ہوا پانی ہے
وَّغَسَّاقٌ ۙ
waghassāqun
and purulence
اور پیپ لہو ہے
Urdu —
یہ (عذاب ہے) پس انہیں یہ چکھنا چاہئے کھولتا ہوا پانی ہے اور پیپ ہےo
— English
This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence.
وَّاٰخَرُ مِنۡ شَكۡلِهٖۤ اَزۡوَاجٌؕ
— Transliteration
Waakharu min shaklihi azwaj
وَّاٰخَرُ
waākharu
And other
اور کچھ دوسرا
مِنۡ
min
of
سے
شَكۡلِهٖۤ
shaklihi
its type
اس کی شکل
اَزۡوَاجٌ ؕ
azwājun
(of various) kinds
بہت سا/قسم قسم کا/ انواع اقسام کا
Urdu —
اور اسی شکل میں اور بھی طرح طرح کا (عذاب) ہےo
— English
And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds.
هٰذَا فَوۡجٌ مُّقۡتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمۡۚ لَا مَرۡحَبًۢـا بِهِمۡؕ اِنَّهُمۡ صَالُوۡا النَّارِ
— Transliteration
Hatha fawjun muqtahimunmaAAakum la marhaban bihim innahum saloo annar
هٰذَا
hādhā
This
یہ
فَوۡجٌ
fawjun
(is) a company
ایک لشکر ہے
مُّقۡتَحِمٌ
muq'taḥimun
bursting
داخل ہونے والا/ گھسنے والا
مَّعَكُمۡۚ
maʿakum
with you.
تمہارے ساتھ
لَا
lā
No
نہیں
مَرۡحَبًۢـا
marḥaban
welcome
کوئی مرحبا
بِهِمۡؕ
bihim
for them.
ان کو
اِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed, they
بیشک وہ
صَالُوا
ṣālū
(will) burn
داخل ہونے والے ہیں
النَّارِ
l-nāri
(in) the Fire
آگ میں
Urdu —
(دوزخ کے داروغے یا پہلے سے موجود جہنمی کہیں گے:) یہ ایک (اور) فوج ہے جو تمہارے ساتھ (جہنم میں) گھستی چلی آرہی ہے، انہیں کوئی خوش آمدید نہیں، بیشک وہ (بھی) دوزخ میں داخل ہونے والے ہیںo
— English
[Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire."
قَالُوۡا بَلۡ اَنۡتُمۡ لَا مَرۡحَبًۢـا بِكُمۡؕ اَنۡتُمۡ قَدَّمۡتُمُوۡهُ لَنَاۚ فَبِئۡسَ الۡقَرَارُ
— Transliteration
Qaloo bal antum la marhabanbikum antum qaddamtumoohu lana fabi/sa alqarar
قَالُوۡا

`Nay!
بلکہ
اَنۡتُمۡ

You -

brought this

So wretched (is)
تو کتنا برا ہے
الۡقَرَارُ

the settlement
ٹھکانہ/ جائے قرار
Urdu —
وہ (آنے والے) کہیں گے: بلکہ تم ہی ہو کہ تمہیں کوئی فراخی نصیب نہ ہو، تم ہی نے یہ (کفر اور عذاب) ہمارے سامنے پیش کیا، سو (یہ) بری قرارگاہ ہےo
— English
They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement."
قَالُوۡا رَبَّنَا مَنۡ قَدَّمَ لَنَا هٰذَا فَزِدۡهُ عَذَابًا ضِعۡفًا فِىۡ النَّارِ
— Transliteration
Qaloo rabbana man qaddama lanahatha fazidhu AAathaban diAAfan fee annar
قَالُوۡا

They will say
وہ کہیں گے
رَبَّنَا
rabbanā
Our Lord
اے ہمارے رب
مَنۡ
man
whoever
جس نے
قَدَّمَ
qaddama
brought
آگے بھیجا ہے
لَنَا

upon us
ہمارے لئے
هٰذَا

this;
یہ
فَزِدۡهُ

increase for him
پس زیادہ دے اس کو
عَذَابًا

a punishment
عذاب
ضِعۡفًا

دوگنا آگ میں

النَّارِ

the Fire
Urdu —
وہ کہیں گے: اے ہمارے رب! جس نے یہ (کفر یا عذاب) ہمارے لئے پیش کیا تھا تو اسے دوزخ میں دوگنا عذاب بڑھا دےo
— English
They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire."
وَقَالُوۡا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرٰى رِجَالاً كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَشۡرَارِؕ
— Transliteration
Waqaloo ma lana lanara rijalan kunna naAAudduhum mina al-ashrar
وَقَالُوۡا
waqālū
And they (will) say
اور وہ کہیں گے
مَا

`What (is)
کیا ہے
لَنَا
lanā
for us
ہمارے لئے
لَا

نہیں
نَرٰى

we see
ہم دیکھتے کچھ
رِجَالًا

شریر لوگوں/ برے لوگوں

اور وہ کہیں گے: ہمیں کیا ہوگیا ہے ہم (اُن) اشخاص کو (یہاں) نہیں دیکھتے جنہیں ہم برے لوگوں میں شمار کرتے تھےo
— English
And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?
اَتَّخَذۡنٰهُمۡ سِخۡرِيًّا اَمۡ زَاغَتۡ عَنۡهُمُ الۡاَبۡصَارُ
— Transliteration
Attakhathnahum sikhriyyan am zaghatAAanhumu al-absar
اَ تَّخَذۡنٰهُمۡ
attakhadhnāhum
Did we take them
کیا بنایا تھا ہم نے ان کا
سِخۡرِيًّا
sikh'riyyan
(in) ridicule
مذاق
اَمۡ
am
or
یا
زَاغَتۡ
zāghat
has turned away
کج ہوگئیں
عَنۡهُمُ
ʿanhumu
from them
ان سے
الۡاَبۡصَارُ
l-abṣāru
the vision
نگاہیں
Urdu —
کیا ہم ان کا (ناحق) مذاق اڑاتے تھے یا ہماری آنکھیں انہیں (پہچاننے) سے چوک گئی تھیں (یہ عمّار، خباب، صُہیب، بلال اور سلمان رضی اللہ عنھما جیسے فقراء اور درویش تھے)o
— English
Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?"
اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ اَهۡلِ النَّارِ
— Transliteration
Inna thalika lahaqqun takhasumuahli annar
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
ذٰ لِكَ

لَحَقّ ٌ
laḥaqqun
(is) surely (the) truth
البتہ حق ہے
تَخَاصُمُ
takhāṣumu
(the) quarreling

(of) the Fire

Urdu —
بے شک یہ اہلِ جہنم کا آپس میں جھگڑنا یقیناً حق ہےo
— English
Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire.
قُلۡ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا مُنۡذِرٌۖ وَّمَا مِنۡ اِلٰهٍ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ الۡوَاحِدُ الۡقَهَّارُۚ
— Transliteration
Qul innama ana munthirunwama min ilahin illa Allahu alwahidualqahhar

کہہ دیجئے
اِنَّمَاۤ

`Only
بیشک
اَنَا

I am
میں
مُنۡذِرٌ ۖ

a warner
خبردار کرنے والا ہوں

سوائے
اللّٰهُ

Allah

the One
جو ایک ہے
الۡقَهَّارُ ۚ

the Irresistible
، جو بہت زبردست ہے
Urdu —
فرما دیجئے: میں تو صرف ڈر سنانے والا ہوں، اور اﷲ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جو یکتا سب پر غالب ہےo
— English
Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡغَفَّارُ
— Transliteration
Rabbu assamawati wal-ardiwama baynahuma alAAazeezu alghaffar
رَبُّ

Lord
رب ہے
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
آسمانوں کا
وَالۡاَرۡضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
اور زمین کا
وَمَا

and whatever

(is) between them

the All-Mighty

Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver."

I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam].
اِنۡ يُّوۡحٰىۤ اِلَىَّ اِلَّاۤ اَنَّمَاۤ اَنَا۟ نَذِيۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌ
— Transliteration
In yooha ilayya illa annamaana natheerun mubeen
اِنۡ

It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner."
اِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةِ اِنِّىۡ خَالِـقٌ ۢ بَشَرًا مِّنۡ طِيۡنٍ
— Transliteration
Ith qala rabbuka lilmala-ikatiinnee khaliqun basharan min teen
اِذۡ

Urdu —
(وہ وقت یاد کیجئے) جب آپ کے رب نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں (گیلی) مٹی سے ایک پیکرِ بشریت پیدا فرمانے والا ہوںo
— English
[So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay.
فَاِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهٗ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيۡهِ مِنۡ رُّوۡحِىۡ فَقَعُوۡا لَهٗ سٰجِدِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fa-itha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehimin roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideen
فَاِذَا
fa-idhā
So when
پھر جب
سَوَّيۡتُهٗ
sawwaytuhu
I have proportioned him
میں درست بنادوں اس کو
وَنَفَخۡتُ
wanafakhtu
and breathed
اور میں پھونک دوں
فِيۡهِ
fīhi
into him
اس میں
مِنۡ
min
of
سے
رُّوۡحِىۡ
rūḥī
My spirit
اپنی روح
فَقَعُوۡا
faqaʿū
then fall down
تو گرپڑنا
لَهٗ

to him
اس کے لئے
سٰجِدِيۡنَ

prostrating
سجدہ کرتے ہوئے
Urdu —
پھر جب میں اس (کے ظاہر) کو درست کر لوں اور اس (کے باطن) میں اپنی (نورانی) روح پھونک دوں تو تم اس (کی تعظیم) کے لئے سجدہ کرتے ہوئے گر پڑناo
— English
So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."
فَسَجَدَ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ اَجۡمَعُوۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Fasajada almala-ikatu kulluhumajmaAAoon
فَسَجَدَ
fasajada
So prostrated
تو سجدہ کیا
الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ
l-malāikatu
the Angels
فرشتوں نے
كُلُّهُمۡ
kulluhum
all of them
ان ساروں نے
اَجۡمَعُوۡنَۙ
ajmaʿūna
together
اکٹھے/ سب کے سب نے
Urdu —
پس سب کے سب فرشتوں نے اکٹھے سجدہ کیاo
— English
So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely.
اِلَّاۤ اِبۡلِيۡسَؕ اِسۡتَكۡبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Illa ibleesa istakbara wakanamina alkafireen
اِلَّاۤ
illā
Except
سوائے
اِبۡلِيۡسَؕ
ib'līsa
Iblis
ابلیس کے
اِسۡتَكۡبَرَ
is'takbara
he was arrogant
اس نے تکبر کیا تھا
وَكَانَ

and became

the disbelievers
کافروں
Urdu —
سوائے ابلیس کے، اس نے (شانِ نبوّت کے سامنے) تکبّر کیا اور کافروں میں سے ہوگیاo
— English
Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers.
قَالَ يٰۤاِبۡلِيۡسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ اَنۡ تَسۡجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقۡتُ بِيَدَىَّؕ اَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ اَمۡ كُنۡتَ مِنَ الۡعَالِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qala ya ibleesu mamanaAAaka an tasjuda lima khalaqtu biyadayya astakbarta amkunta mina alAAaleen
قَالَ

He said

يٰۤـاِبۡلِيۡسُ

O Iblis
اے ابلیس

مَنَعَكَ

you (should) prostrate

I created
جسے میں نے پیدا کیا

with My Hands
اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے
اَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ

Are you arrogant
کیا تم نے تکبر کیا
اَمۡ

یا
كُنۡتَ

ہوگیا ہے تو
مِنَ

میں سے
الۡعَالِيۡنَ
l-ʿālīna
the exalted ones
بلند مرتبہ والوں
Urdu —
(اﷲ نے) ارشاد فرمایا: اے ابلیس! تجھے کس نے اس (ہستی) کو سجدہ کرنے سے روکا ہے جسے میں نے خود اپنے دستِ (کرم) سے بنایا ہے، کیا تو نے (اس سے) تکبّر کیا یا تو (بزعمِ خویش) بلند رتبہ (بنا ہوا) تھاo
— English
[Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?"
قَالَ اَنَا خَيۡرٌ مِّنۡهُؕ خَلَقۡتَنِىۡ مِنۡ نَّارٍ وَّخَلَقۡتَهٗ مِنۡ طِيۡنٍ
— Transliteration
Qala ana khayrun minhukhalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teen
قَالَ

He said

بہتر ہوں
مِّنۡهُ ؕ

Urdu —
اس نے (نبی کے ساتھ اپنا موازنہ کرتے ہوئے) کہا کہ میں اس سے بہتر ہوں، تو نے مجھے آگ سے بنایا ہے اور تو نے اِسے مٹی سے بنایا ہےo
— English
He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
قَالَ فَاخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِيۡمٌ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
Qala fakhruj minhafa-innaka rajeem
قَالَ

He said
فرمایا
فَاخۡرُجۡ
fa-ukh'ruj
Then get out
پس نکل جا
مِنۡهَا
min'hā
of it,
اس سے
فَاِنَّكَ
fa-innaka
for indeed, you
پس بیشک تو
رَجِيۡمٌ ۖ ۚ
rajīmun
(are) accursed
مردود ہے
Urdu —
ارشاد ہوا: سو تو (اِس گستاخئ نبوّت کے جرم میں) یہاں سے نکل جا، بے شک تو مردود ہےo
— English
[Allah] said, "Then get out of Paradise, for indeed, you are expelled.
وَّاِنَّ عَلَيۡكَ لَعۡنَتِىۡۤ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ الدِّيۡنِ
— Transliteration
Wa-inna AAalayka laAAnatee ila yawmiaddeen
وَّاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
عَلَيۡكَ
ʿalayka
upon you
تجھ پر
لَعۡنَتِىۡۤ
laʿnatī
(is) My curse
میری لعنت ہے
اِلٰى
ilā
until
تک
يَوۡمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
دن
الدِّيۡنِ
l-dīni
(of) Judgment
جزا و سزا کے
Urdu —
اور بے شک تجھ پر قیامت کے دن تک میری لعنت رہے گیo
— English
And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense."
قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنۡظِرۡنِىۡۤ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qala rabbi faanthirneeila yawmi yubAAathoon
قَالَ

My Lord
اے میرے رب
فَاَنۡظِرۡنِىۡۤ
fa-anẓir'nī
Then give me respite
پھر مہلت دے مجھ کو
اِلٰى

يَوۡمِ

(the) Day
اس دن
يُبۡعَثُوۡنَ
yub'ʿathūna
they are resurrected
جب وہ سب اٹھائے جائیں گے
Urdu —
اس نے کہا: اے پروردگار! پھر مجھے اس دن تک (زندہ رہنے کی) مہلت دے جس دن لوگ قبروں سے اٹھائے جائیں گےo
— English
He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
قَالَ فَاِنَّكَ مِنَ الۡمُنۡظَرِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Qala fa-innaka mina almunthareen
قَالَ

فَاِنَّكَ
fa-innaka
`Then indeed, you
پس بیشک تو
مِنَ

(are) of
میں سے ہے
الۡمُنۡظَرِيۡنَۙ

مہلت دئیے جانے والوں
Urdu —
ارشاد ہوا: (جا) بے شک تو مہلت والوں میں سے ہےo
— English
[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved
اِلٰى يَوۡمِ الۡوَقۡتِ الۡمَعۡلُوۡمِ
— Transliteration
Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloom
اِلٰى

Until

(of) the time

الۡمَعۡلُوۡمِ

اس وقت کے دن تک جو مقرّر (اور معلوم) ہےo

Until the Day of the time well-known."
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَاُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ اَجۡمَعِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Qala fabiAAizzatika laoghwiyannahumajmaAAeen
قَالَ

He said
بولا
فَبِعِزَّتِكَ
fabiʿizzatika
Then by Your might
پس قسم ہے تیری عزت کی
لَاُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ
la-ugh'wiyannahum
I will surely mislead them
البتہ میں ضرور گمراہ کر دوں گا ان کو
اَجۡمَعِيۡنَۙ
ajmaʿīna
all
سب کے سب کو
Urdu —
اس نے کہا: سو تیری عزّت کی قسم! میں ان سب لوگوں کو ضرور گمراہ کرتا رہوں گاo
— English
[Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all
اِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Illa AAibadaka minhumualmukhlaseen
اِلَّا
illā
Except
سوائے
عِبَادَكَ
ʿibādaka
Your slaves
تیرے بندوں کے
مِنۡهُمُ
min'humu
among them
ان میں سے
الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ
l-mukh'laṣīna
the chosen ones
جو مخلص ہوں گے/ چنے ہوئے ہوں گے
Urdu —
سوائے تیرے اُن بندوں کے جو چُنیدہ و برگزیدہ ہیںo
— English
Except, among them, Your chosen servants."
قَالَ فَالۡحَقُّ وَالۡحَقَّ اَقُوۡلُۚ
— Transliteration
Qala falhaqqu walhaqqaaqool
قَالَ

He said
فرمایا
فَالۡحَقُّ
fal-ḥaqu
Then (it is) the truth
پس حق ہے
وَالۡحَقَّ
wal-ḥaqa
and the truth
اور حق کو ہی
اَ قُوۡلُ ۚ
aqūlu
I say
میں کہتا ہوں
Urdu —
ارشاد ہوا: پس حق (یہ) ہے اور میں حق ہی کہتا ہوںo
— English
[Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say -
لَاَمۡلئَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنۡكَ وَمِمَّنۡ تَبِعَكَ مِنۡهُمۡ اَجۡمَعِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Laamlaanna jahannama minka wamimmantabiAAaka minhum ajmaAAeen
لَاَمۡلَئَنَّ
la-amla-anna
Surely I will fill
البتہ میں ضرور بھر دوں گا
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
جہنم کو
مِنۡكَ
minka
with you
تجھ سے
وَمِمَّنۡ
wamimman
and those who
اور ان سے
تَبِعَكَ
tabiʿaka
follow you
جو پیروی کریں گے تیری
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
among them
ان میں سے
اَجۡمَعِيۡنَ
ajmaʿīna
all
/سب کے سب سے
Urdu —
کہ میں تجھ سے اور جو لوگ تیری (گستاخانہ سوچ کی) پیروی کریں گے اُن سب سے دوزخ کو بھر دوں گاo
— English
[That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together."
قُلۡ مَاۤ اَسۡـَٔــلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ اَجۡرٍ وَّمَاۤ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُتَكَلِّفِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qul ma as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrinwama ana mina almutakallifeen
قُلۡ

Say
کہہ دیجئے
مَاۤ

اَسۡـَٔــلُكُمۡ

I ask of you
میں مانگتا تم سے
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
for it

وَّمَاۤ
wamā
and not
اور نہیں

I am
ہوں میں

the ones who pretend
تکلف کرنے والوں
Urdu —
فرما دیجئے: میں تم سے اِس (حق کی تبلیغ) پر کوئی معاوضہ طلب نہیں کرتا اور نہ میں تکلف کرنے والوں میں سے ہوںo
— English
Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious
اِنۡ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكۡرٌ لِّلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
In huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameen
اِنۡ

a Reminder
ایک نصیحت
لِّلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ

یہ (قرآن) تو سارے جہان والوں کے لئے نصیحت ہی ہےo
— English
It is but a reminder to the worlds.
وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ نَبَاَهٗ بَعۡدَ حِيۡنِ
— Transliteration
WalataAAlamunna nabaahu baAAda heen
وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ
walataʿlamunna
And surely you will know
اور البتہ تم ضرور جان لو گے
نَبَاَهٗ
naba-ahu
its information
خبر اس کی/ حال اس کا
بَعۡدَ
baʿda
after
بعد
حِيۡنِ
ḥīnin
a time
ایک وقت کے
Urdu —
اور تمہیں تھوڑے ہی وقت کے بعد خود اِس کا حال معلوم ہو جائے گاo
— English
And you will surely know [the truth of] its information after a time."
