الٓمّٓ ۚ

Alif Laam Meem.
الیف لام میم۔
Urdu —
الف، لام، میم (حقیقی معنی اﷲ اور رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں)
— English
Alif, Lam, Meem
اَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ اَنۡ يُّتۡرَكُوۡۤا اَنۡ يَّقُوۡلُوۡۤا اٰمَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَـنُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Ahasiba annasu anyutrakoo an yaqooloo amanna wahum layuftanoon
اَحَسِبَ
aḥasiba
Do think
کیا سمجھ لیا
النَّاسُ
l-nāsu
the people
لوگوں نے
اَنۡ
an
that
کہ
يُّتۡرَكُوۡۤا
yut'rakū
they will be left
وہ چھوڑ دیئے جائیں گے
اَنۡ
an
because
اگر
يَّقُوۡلُوۡۤا
yaqūlū
they say
وہ کہہ دیں
اٰمَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
ایمان لائے ہم
وَهُمۡ
wahum
and they
اور وہ
لَا
lā
**will not be tested?
نہ
يُفۡتَـنُوۡنَ
yuf'tanūna
will not be tested
آزمائے جائیں گے
Urdu —
کیا لوگ یہ خیال کرتے ہیں کہ (صرف) ان کے (اتنا) کہنے سے کہ ہم ایمان لے آئے ہیں چھوڑ دیئے جائیں گے اور ان کی آزمائش نہ کی جائے گی
— English
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?
وَلَقَدۡ فَتَـنَّا الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ صَدَقُوۡا وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ الۡكٰذِبِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walaqad fatanna allatheena minqablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoowalayaAAlamanna alkathibeen
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And indeed,
اور البتہ
فَتَـنَّا
fatannā
We tested
آزمایا ہم نے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
لوگوں کو
مِنۡ
min
**(were) before them.
سے
قَبۡلِهِمۡ
qablihim
(were) before them
جو ان (سے) پہلے تھے
فَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ
falayaʿlamanna
And Allah will surely make evident
پس البتہ ضرور جان لے گا
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
And Allah will surely make evident
اللہ
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں کو
صَدَقُوۡا
ṣadaqū
(are) truthful
جنہوں نے سچ کہا
وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ
walayaʿlamanna
and He will surely make evident
اور البتہ ضرور جان لے گا
الۡكٰذِبِيۡنَ
l-kādhibīna
the liars
جھوٹوں کو
Urdu —
اور بیشک ہم نے ان لوگوں کو (بھی) آزمایا تھا جو ان سے پہلے تھے سو یقیناً اللہ ان لوگوں کو ضرور (آزمائش کے ذریعے) نمایاں فرما دے گا جو (دعوٰی ایمان میں) سچے ہیں اور جھوٹوں کو (بھی) ضرور ظاہر کر دے گا
— English
But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
اَمۡ حَسِبَ الَّذِيۡنَ يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ السَّيِّاٰتِ اَنۡ يَّسۡبِقُوۡنَاؕ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Am hasiba allatheenayaAAmaloona assayyi-ati an yasbiqoona saama yahkumoon
اَمۡ
am
Or
یا
حَسِبَ
ḥasiba
think
سمجھ رکھا ہے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں نے
يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
yaʿmalūna
do
جو عمل کرتے ہیں
السَّيِّاٰتِ
l-sayiāti
evil deeds
برے
اَنۡ
an
that
کہ
يَّسۡبِقُوۡنَا ؕ
yasbiqūnā
they can outrun Us
وہ آگے بڑھ جائیں گے ہم سے
سَآءَ
sāa
Evil is
کتنا برا ہے
مَا
mā
what
جو
يَحۡكُمُوۡنَ
yaḥkumūna
they judge
وہ حکم لگا رہے ہیں
Urdu —
کیا جو لوگ برے کام کرتے ہیں یہ گمان کئے ہوئے ہیں کہ وہ ہمارے (قابو) سے باہر نکل جائیں گے؟ کیا ہی برا ہے جو وہ (اپنے ذہنوں میں) فیصلہ کرتے ہیں
— English
Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge.
مَنۡ كَانَ يَرۡجُوۡا لِقَآءَ اللّٰهِ فَاِنَّ اَجَلَ اللّٰهِ لَاٰتٍؕ وَهُوَ السَّمِيۡعُ الۡعَلِيۡمُ
— Transliteration
Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahifa-inna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa assameeAAualAAaleem
مَنۡ
man
Whoever
جو کوئی
كَانَ
kāna
[is]
ہو
يَرۡجُوۡا
yarjū
hopes
امید رکھتا
لِقَآءَ
liqāa
(for the) meeting
ملاقات کی
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(with) Allah
اللہ کی
فَاِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed,
تو بیشک
اَجَلَ
ajala
(the) Term
مقرر کردہ وقت
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کا
لَاٰتٍؕ
laātin
(is) surely coming
البتہ آنے والا ہے
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
اور وہ
السَّمِيۡعُ
l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
سننے والا ہے
الۡعَلِيۡمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
جاننے والا ہے
Urdu —
جو شخص اللہ سے ملاقات کی امید رکھتا ہے تو بیشک اللہ کا مقرر کردہ وقت ضرور آنے والا ہے، اور وہی سننے والا جاننے والا ہے
— English
Whoever should hope for the meeting with Allah - indeed, the term decreed by Allah is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
وَمَنۡ جَاهَدَ فَاِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفۡسِهٖؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَـغَنِىٌّ عَنِ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Waman jahada fa-innama yujahidulinafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameen
وَمَنۡ
waman
And whoever
اور جو کوئی
جَاهَدَ
jāhada
strives
مجاہدہ کرے گا/ جدوجہد کرے گا
فَاِنَّمَا
fa-innamā
then only
تو بیشک
يُجَاهِدُ
yujāhidu
he strives
وہ جدوجہد کرے گا
لِنَفۡسِهٖؕ
linafsihi
for himself
اپنے نفس کے لئے
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
لَـغَنِىٌّ
laghaniyyun
(is) Free from need
البتہ بےنیاز ہے
عَنِ
ʿani
of
سے
الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
جہان والوں (سے)
Urdu —
جو شخص (راہِ حق میں) جد و جہد کرتا ہے وہ اپنے ہی (نفع کے) لئے تگ و دو کرتا ہے، بیشک اللہ تمام جہانوں (کی طاعتوں، کوششوں اور مجاہدوں) سے بے نیاز ہے
— English
And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.
وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَـنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّاٰتِهِمۡ وَلَـنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ اَحۡسَنَ الَّذِىۡ كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lanukaffirannaAAanhum sayyi-atihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allatheekanoo yaAAmaloon
وَالَّذِيۡنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
اور وہ لوگ
اٰمَنُوۡا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
اور انہوں نے عمل کئے
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous (deeds)
اچھے
لَـنُكَفِّرَنَّ
lanukaffiranna
surely, We will remove
البتہ ہم ضرور کردیں گے
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʿanhum
from them
ان سے
سَيِّاٰتِهِمۡ
sayyiātihim
their evil deeds
ان کی برائیوں کو
وَلَـنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ
walanajziyannahum
and We will surely reward them
اور البتہ ہم ضرور جزا دیں گے ان کو
اَحۡسَنَ
aḥsana
(the) best
بہترین عمل کی
الَّذِىۡ
alladhī
(of) what
جو
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they used
تھے وہ
يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
yaʿmalūna
(to) do
عمل کرتے
Urdu —
اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے تو ہم ان کی ساری خطائیں ان (کے نامۂ اعمال) سے مٹا دیں گے اور ہم یقیناً انہیں اس سے بہتر جزا عطا فرما دیں گے جو عمل وہ (فی الواقع) کرتے رہے تھے
— English
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.
وَوَصَّيۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ بِوَالِدَيۡهِ حُسۡنًاؕ وَّاِنۡ جَاهَدٰكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِىۡ مَا لَـيۡسَ لَـكَ بِهٖ عِلۡمٌ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَاؕ اِلَىَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَاُنَبِّئُكُمۡ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wawassayna al-insana biwalidayhihusnan wa-in jahadaka litushrika bee malaysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhumailayya marjiAAukum faonabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloon
وَوَصَّيۡنَا
wawaṣṣaynā
And We have enjoined
اور وصیت کی ہم نے
الۡاِنۡسَانَ
l-insāna
(on) man
انسان کو/ تاکید کی ہم نے انسان کو
بِوَالِدَيۡهِ
biwālidayhi
goodness to his parents
اپنے والدین کے ساتھ
حُسۡنًا ؕ
ḥus'nan
goodness to his parents
بھلائی کی
وَاِنۡ
wa-in
but if
اور اگر
جَاهَدٰكَ
jāhadāka
they both strive against you
وہ دونوں زور ڈالیں تمجھ پر
لِتُشۡرِكَ
litush'rika
to make you associate
تاکہ تم شرک کرو
بِىۡ
bī
with Me
میرے ساتھ
مَا
mā
what
جس کا
لَـيۡسَ
laysa
not
نہیں ہے
لَـكَ
laka
you have
تیرے لئے
بِهٖ
bihi
of it
اس کا
عِلۡمٌ
ʿil'mun
any knowledge
کوئی علم
فَلَا
falā
then (do) not
تو نہ
تُطِعۡهُمَا ؕ
tuṭiʿ'humā
obey both of them
تم اطاعت کرو ان کی
اِلَىَّ
ilayya
To Me
میری طرف
مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ
marjiʿukum
(is) your return
لوٹنا ہے تم کو
فَاُنَبِّئُكُمۡ
fa-unabbi-ukum
and I will inform you
تو میں بتاؤں گا تم کو
بِمَا
bimā
about what
ساتھ اس کے جو
كُنۡتُمۡ
kuntum
you used
تھے تم
تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
taʿmalūna
(to) do
عمل کیا کرتے
Urdu —
اور ہم نے انسان کو اس کے والدین سے نیک سلوک کا حکم فرمایا اور اگر وہ تجھ پر (یہ) کوشش کریں کہ تو میرے ساتھ اس چیز کو شریک ٹھہرائے جس کا تجھے کچھ بھی علم نہیں تو ان کی اطاعت مت کر، میری ہی طرف تم (سب) کو پلٹنا ہے سو میں تمہیں ان (کاموں) سے آگاہ کردوں گا جو تم (دنیا میں) کیا کرتے تھے
— English
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَـنُدۡخِلَـنَّهُمۡ فِىۡ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lanudkhilannahum feeassaliheen
وَالَّذِيۡنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
اور وہ لوگ
اٰمَنُوۡا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
اور انہوں نے عمل کئے
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
اچھے/ نیک
لَـنُدۡخِلَـنَّهُمۡ
lanud'khilannahum
We will surely admit them
البتہ ہم ضرور داخل کریں گے ان کو
فِى
fī
among
میں
الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ
l-ṣāliḥīna
the righteous
نیک لوگوں (میں)
Urdu —
اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک اعمال کرتے رہے تو ہم انہیں ضرور نیکو کاروں (کے گروہ) میں داخل فرما دیں گے
— English
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise].
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنۡ يَّقُوۡلُ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ فَاِذَاۤ اُوۡذِىَ فِىۡ اللّٰهِ جَعَلَ فِتۡنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللّٰهِؕ وَلَٮِٕنۡ جَآءَ نَـصۡرٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكَ لَيَـقُوۡلُنَّ اِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمۡؕ اَوَلَـيۡسَ اللّٰهُ بِاَعۡلَمَ بِمَا فِىۡ صُدُوۡرِ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wamina annasi man yaqoolu amannabillahi fa-itha oothiya fee AllahijaAAala fitnata annasi kaAAathabi Allahiwala-in jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna innakunna maAAakum awa laysa Allahu bi-aAAlama bimafee sudoori alAAalameen
وَمِنَ
wamina
And of
اور سے
النَّاسِ
l-nāsi
the people
لوگوں (میں سے)
مَنۡ
man
(is he) who
کوئی ہے
يَّقُوۡلُ
yaqūlu
says
جو کہتا ہے
اٰمَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
ہم ایمان لائے
بِاللّٰهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
اللہ پر
فَاِذَاۤ
fa-idhā
But when
پھر جب
اُوۡذِىَ
ūdhiya
he is harmed
ستایا جاتا ہے
فِى
fī
in
میں
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(the Way of) Allah
اللہ کی (راہ میں)
جَعَلَ
jaʿala
he considers
بنا لیتا ہے
فِتۡنَةَ
fit'nata
(the) trial
آزمائش کو
النَّاسِ
l-nāsi
(of) the people
لوگوں کی
كَعَذَابِ
kaʿadhābi
as (the) punishment
مانند عذاب کے
اللّٰهِؕ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کے
وَلَٮِٕنۡ
wala-in
But if
اور البتہ اگر
جَآءَ
jāa
comes
آگئی
نَـصۡرٌ
naṣrun
victory
فتح/ مدد
مِّنۡ
min
from
سے
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
تیرے رب کی طرف (سے)
لَيَـقُوۡلُنَّ
layaqūlunna
surely they say
البتہ وہ ضرور کہیں گے
اِنَّا
innā
"Indeed, we
بیشک ہم
كُنَّا
kunnā
were
تھے ہم
مَعَكُمۡؕ
maʿakum
with you."
تمہارے ساتھ
اَوَلَـيۡسَ
awalaysa
Is not
کیا بھلا نہیں
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ
بِاَعۡلَمَ
bi-aʿlama
most knowing
خوب جانتا
بِمَا
bimā
of what
ساتھ اس کے جو
فِىۡ
fī
(is) in
میں
صُدُوۡرِ
ṣudūri
(the) breasts
سینوں (میں) ہے
الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
جہان والوں کے
Urdu —
اور لوگوں میں ایسے شخص (بھی) ہوتے ہیں جو (زبان سے) کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائے، پھر جب انہیں اللہ کی راہ میں (کوئی) تکلیف پہنچائی جاتی ہے تو وہ لوگوں کی آزمائش کواللہ کے عذاب کی مانند قرار دیتے ہیں، اور اگر آپ کے رب کی جانب سے کوئی مدد آپہنچتی ہے تو وہ یقیناً یہ کہنے لگتے ہیں کہ ہم تو تمہارے ساتھ ہی تھے، کیا اللہ ان (باتوں) کو نہیں جانتا جو جہان والوں کے سینوں میں (پوشیدہ) ہیں
— English
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?
وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
WalayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheenaamanoo walayaAAlamanna almunafiqeen
وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ
walayaʿlamanna
And Allah will surely make evident
اور البتہ ضرور جانے گا
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
And Allah will surely make evident
اللہ
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں کو
اٰمَنُوۡا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ
walayaʿlamanna
And He will surely make evident
اور البتہ ضرور جان لے گا
الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ
l-munāfiqīna
the hypocrites
منافقوں کو
Urdu —
اور اللہ ضرور ایسے لوگوں کو ممتاز فرما دے گا جو (سچے دل سے) ایمان لائے ہیں اور منافقوں کو (بھی) ضرور ظاہر کر دے گا
— English
And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites.
وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا لِلَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا اتَّبِعُوۡا سَبِيۡلَـنَا وَلۡـنَحۡمِلۡ خَطٰيٰكُمۡؕ وَمَا هُمۡ بِحٰمِلِيۡنَ مِنۡ خَطٰيٰهُمۡ مِّنۡ شَىۡءٍؕ اِنَّهُمۡ لَـكٰذِبُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Waqala allatheena kafaroolillatheena amanoo ittabiAAoo sabeelanawalnahmil khatayakum wama hum bihamileenamin khatayahum min shay-in innahum lakathiboon
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And said
اور کہا
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں نے
كَفَرُوۡا
kafarū
disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
لِلَّذِيۡنَ
lilladhīna
to those who
واسطے ان لوگوں کے
اٰمَنُوا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
اتَّبِعُوۡا
ittabiʿū
Follow
پیروی کرو
سَبِيۡلَـنَا
sabīlanā
our way
ہمارے راستے کی
وَلۡـنَحۡمِلۡ
walnaḥmil
and we will carry
اور ہم ضرور اٹھالیں
خَطٰيٰكُمۡ ؕ
khaṭāyākum
your sins
تمہاری خطائیں
وَمَا
wamā
But not
حالانکہ نہیں
هُمۡ
hum
they
وہ
بِحٰمِلِيۡنَ
biḥāmilīna
(are) ing to carry
اٹھانے والے
مِنۡ
min
of
سے
خَطٰيٰهُمۡ
khaṭāyāhum
their sins
ان کی اپنی خطاؤں میں (سے)
مِّنۡ
min
any
کوئی
شَىۡءٍؕ
shayin
thing
چیز
اِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed, they
بیشک وہ
لَـكٰذِبُوۡنَ
lakādhibūna
(are) surely liars
البتہ جھوٹے ہیں
Urdu —
اور کافر لوگ ایمان والوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ تم ہماری راہ کی پیروی کرو اور ہم تمہاری خطاؤں (کے بوجھ) کو اٹھا لیں گے، حالانکہ وہ ان کے گناہوں کا کچھ بھی (بوجھ) اٹھانے والے نہیں ہیں بیشک وہ جھوٹے ہیں
— English
And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.
وَلَيَحۡمِلُنَّ اَثۡقَالَهُمۡ وَاَثۡقَالاً مَّعَ اَثۡقَالِهِمۡ وَلَـيُسۡـَٔـلُنَّ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوۡا يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walayahmilunna athqalahumwaathqalan maAAa athqalihim walayus-alunna yawmaalqiyamati AAamma kanoo yaftaroon
وَلَيَحۡمِلُنَّ
walayaḥmilunna
But surely they will carry
اور البتہ وہ ضرور اٹھائیں گے
اَ ثۡقَالَهُمۡ
athqālahum
their burdens
اپنے بوجھ
وَاَ ثۡقَالًا
wa-athqālan
and burdens
اور کچھ بوجھ
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ساتھ
اَثۡقَالِهِمۡ
athqālihim
their burdens
اپنے بوجھوں کے
وَلَـيُسۡــَٔـلُنَّ
walayus'alunna
and surely they will be questioned
اور البتہ ضرور وہ پوچھے جائیں گے
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
دن
الۡقِيٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
قیامت کے
عَمَّا
ʿammā
about what
اس چیز کے بارے میں جو
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they used
تھے وہ
يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ
yaftarūna
(to) invent
گھڑا کرتے
Urdu —
وہ یقیناً اپنے (گناہوں کے) بوجھ اٹھائیں گے اور اپنے بوجھوں کے ساتھ کئی (دوسرے) بوجھ (بھی اپنے اوپر لادے ہوں گے) اور ان سے روزِ قیامت ان (بہتانوں) کی ضرور پرسش کی جائے گی جو وہ گھڑا کرتے تھے
— English
But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent.
وَلَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوۡحًا اِلٰى قَوۡمِهٖ فَلَبِثَ فِيۡهِمۡ اَلۡفَ سَنَةٍ اِلَّا خَمۡسِيۡنَ عَامًاؕ فَاَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوۡفَانُ وَهُمۡ ظٰلِمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walaqad arsalna noohan ilaqawmihi falabitha feehim alfa sanatin illa khamseena AAamanfaakhathahumu attoofanu wahum thalimoon
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And verily,
اور البتہ تحقیق
اَرۡسَلۡنَا
arsalnā
We sent
بھیجا ہم نے
نُوۡحًا
nūḥan
Nuh
نوح کو
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
قَوۡمِهٖ
qawmihi
his people
اس کی قوم کی (طرف)
فَلَبِثَ
falabitha
and he remained
تو وہ ٹھہرا
فِيۡهِمۡ
fīhim
among them
ان میں
اَ لۡفَ
alfa
a thousand
ہزار
سَنَةٍ
sanatin
year(s)
سال
اِلَّا
illā
save
مگر
خَمۡسِيۡنَ
khamsīna
fifty
پچاس
عَامًا ؕ
ʿāman
year(s)
سال
فَاَخَذَهُمُ
fa-akhadhahumu
then seized them
تو پکڑ لیا ان کو
الطُّوۡفَانُ
l-ṭūfānu
the flood
طوفان نے
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
اور وہ
ظٰلِمُوۡنَ
ẓālimūna
(were) wrongdoers
ظالم تھے
Urdu —
اور بیشک ہم نے نوح (علیہ السلام) کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا تو وہ ان میں پچاس برس کم ایک ہزار سال رہے، پھر ان لوگوں کو طوفان نے آپکڑا اس حال میں کہ وہ ظالم تھے
— English
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.
فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰهُ وَاَصۡحٰبَ السَّفِيۡنَةِ وَجَعَلۡنٰهَاۤ اٰيَةً لِّـلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Faanjaynahu waas-haba assafeenatiwajaAAalnaha ayatan lilAAalameen
فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰهُ
fa-anjaynāhu
But We saved him
تو نجات دی ہم نے اس کو
وَاَصۡحٰبَ
wa-aṣḥāba
and (the) people
اور والوں کو
السَّفِيۡنَةِ
l-safīnati
(of) the ship
کشتی (والوں کو)
وَجَعَلۡنٰهَاۤ
wajaʿalnāhā
and We made it
اور بنادیا ہم نے اس کو
اٰيَةً
āyatan
a Sign
ایک نشانی
لِّـلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
lil'ʿālamīna
for the worlds
جہان والوں کے لئے
Urdu —
پھر ہم نے نوح (علیہ السلام) کو اور (ان کے ہمراہ) کشتی والوں کو نجات بخشی اور ہم نے اس (کشتی اور واقعہ) کو تمام جہان والوں کے لئے نشانی بنا دیا
— English
But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it a sign for the worlds.
وَاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ اِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِ اعۡبُدُوۡا اللّٰهَ وَاتَّقُوۡهُؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٌ لَّـكُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wa-ibraheema ith qalaliqawmihi oAAbudoo Allaha wattaqoohu thalikumkhayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoon
وَاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ
wa-ib'rāhīma
And Ibrahim
اور ابراہیم کو
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
قَالَ
qāla
he said
اس نے کہا تھا
لِقَوۡمِهِ
liqawmihi
to his people
اپنی قوم سے
اعۡبُدُوا
uʿ'budū
Worship
عبادت کرو
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ کی
وَاتَّقُوۡهُ ؕ
wa-ittaqūhu
and fear Him
اور ڈرو اس سے
ذٰ لِكُمۡ
dhālikum
That
یہ بات
خَيۡرٌ
khayrun
(is) better
بہتر ہے
لَّـكُمۡ
lakum
for you
تمہارے لئے
اِنۡ
in
if
اگر
كُنۡـتُمۡ
kuntum
you
ہو تم
تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
taʿlamūna
know
تم جانتے
Urdu —
اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کو (یاد کریں) جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے فرمایا کہ تم اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اس سے ڈرو، یہی تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے اگر تم (حقیقت کو) جانتے ہو
— English
And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.
اِنَّمَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ اَوۡثَانًا وَّتَخۡلُقُوۡنَ اِفۡكًاؕ اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ لَا يَمۡلِكُوۡنَ لَـكُمۡ رِزۡقًا فَابۡتَغُوۡا عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ الرِّزۡقَ وَاعۡبُدُوۡهُ وَاشۡكُرُوۡا لَهٗؕ اِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahiawthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheenataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakumrizqan fabtaghoo AAinda Allahi arrizqa waAAbudoohuwashkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoon
اِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
بیشک
تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ
taʿbudūna
you worship
تم عبادت کرتے ہو
مِنۡ
min
**besides
کے
دُوۡنِ
dūni
besides
سوا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
اَوۡثَانًا
awthānan
idols
بتوں کی
وَّتَخۡلُقُوۡنَ
watakhluqūna
and you create
اور تم گھڑ رہے ہو
اِفۡكًا ؕ
if'kan
falsehood
جھوٹ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those whom
وہ ہستیاں
تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ
taʿbudūna
you worship
تم عبادت کرتے ہو
مِنۡ
min
**besides
سے
دُوۡنِ
dūni
besides
چھوڑ کر (جن کی)
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کو
لَا
lā
(do) not
نہیں
يَمۡلِكُوۡنَ
yamlikūna
possess
مالک ہوسکتیں
لَـكُمۡ
lakum
for you
تمہارے لئے
رِزۡقًا
riz'qan
any provision
رزق کی
فَابۡتَغُوۡا
fa-ib'taghū
So seek
پس تلاش کرو
عِنۡدَ
ʿinda
from
پاس
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
الرِّزۡقَ
l-riz'qa
the provision
رزق
وَاعۡبُدُوۡهُ
wa-uʿ'budūhu
and worship Him
اور عبادت کرو اس کی
وَاشۡكُرُوۡا
wa-ush'kurū
and be grateful
اور شکر ادا کرو
لَهٗ ؕ
lahu
to Him.
اس کا
اِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
To Him
اسی کی طرف
تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
تم لوٹائے جاؤ گے
Urdu —
تم تو اللہ کے سوا بتوں کی پوجا کرتے ہو اور محض جھوٹ گھڑتے ہو، بیشک تم اللہ کے سوا جن کی پوجا کرتے ہو وہ تمہارے لئے رزق کے مالک نہیں ہیں پس تم اللہ کی بارگاہ سے رزق طلب کیا کرو اور اسی کی عبادت کیا کرو اور اسی کا شکر بجا لایا کرو، تم اسی کی طرف پلٹائے جاؤ گے
— English
You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."
وَاِنۡ تُكَذِّبُوۡا فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ اُمَمٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡؕ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُوۡلِ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ
— Transliteration
Wa-in tukaththiboo faqad kaththabaomamun min qablikum wama AAala arrasooliilla albalaghu almubeen
وَاِنۡ
wa-in
And if
اور اگر
تُكَذِّبُوۡا
tukadhibū
you deny
تم جھٹلاتے ہو
فَقَدۡ
faqad
then verily,
پس تحقیق
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denied
جھٹلایا
اُمَمٌ
umamun
(the) nations
کچھ گروہوں نے
مِّنۡ
min
**before you.
سے
قَبۡلِكُمۡؕ
qablikum
before you
جو تم سے پہلے تھے
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
عَلَى
ʿalā
(is) on
اوپر
الرَّسُوۡلِ
l-rasūli
the Messenger
رسول کے
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الۡبَلٰغُ
l-balāghu
the conveyance
پہنچا دینا
الۡمُبِيۡنُ
l-mubīnu
clear
کھلم کھلا
Urdu —
اور اگر تم نے (میری باتوں کو) جھٹلایا تو یقیناً تم سے پہلے (بھی) کئی امتیں (حق کو) جھٹلا چکی ہیں، اور رسول پر واضح طریق سے (احکام) پہنچا دینے کے سوا (کچھ لازم) نہیں ہے
— English
And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.
اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا كَيۡفَ يُبۡدِئُ اللّٰهُ الۡخَـلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيۡدُهٗؕ اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيۡرٌ
— Transliteration
Awa lam yaraw kayfa yubdi-o Allahualkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu inna thalika AAala Allahiyaseer
اَوَلَمۡ
awalam
Do not
کیا بھلا نہیں
يَرَوۡا
yaraw
they see
انہوں نے دیکھا
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
کس طرح
يُبۡدِئُ
yub'di-u
Allah originates
ابتدا کرتا ہے
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah originates
اللہ
الۡخَـلۡقَ
l-khalqa
the creation
خلق کی
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
پھر
يُعِيۡدُهٗ ؕ
yuʿīduhu
repeats it
اعادہ کرے گا اس کا
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
ذٰ لِكَ
dhālika
that
یہ (بات)
عَلَى
ʿalā
for
اوپر
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
يَسِيۡرٌ
yasīrun
(is) easy
آسان ہے
Urdu —
کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا (یعنی غور نہیں کیا) کہ اللہ کس طرح تخلیق کی ابتداء فرماتا ہے پھر (اسی طرح) اس کا اعادہ فرماتا ہے۔ بیشک یہ (کام) اللہ پر آسان ہے
— English
Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy.
قُلۡ سِيۡرُوۡا فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ فَانْظُرُوۡا كَيۡفَ بَدَاَ الۡخَـلۡقَ ثُمَّ اللّٰهُ يُنۡشِئُ النَّشۡاَةَ الۡاٰخِرَةَ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌۚ
— Transliteration
Qul seeroo fee al-ardi fanthurookayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshi-o annash-ataal-akhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shay-inqadeer
قُلۡ

Say
کہہ دیجئے
سِيۡرُوۡا
sīrū
Travel
چلو پھرو
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین (میں)
فَانْظُرُوۡا
fa-unẓurū
and see
پھر دیکھو
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
کس طرح
بَدَاَ
bada-a
He originated
اس نے ابتدا کی ہے
الۡخَـلۡقَ
l-khalqa
the creation
تخلیق کی
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
پھر
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ
يُنۡشِئُ
yunshi-u
will produce
اٹھائے گا
النَّشۡاَةَ
l-nashata
the creation
اٹھانا
الۡاٰخِرَةَ ؕ
l-ākhirata
the last
دوسری بار
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
عَلٰى
ʿalā
on
پر
كُلِّ
kulli
every
ہر
شَىۡءٍ
shayin
thing
چیز (پر)
قَدِيۡرٌۚ
qadīrun
(is) All-Powerful
قدرت رکھنے والا ہے
Urdu —
فرما دیجئے: تم زمین میں (کائناتی زندگی کے مطالعہ کے لئے) چلو پھرو، پھر دیکھو (یعنی غور و تحقیق کرو) کہ اس نے مخلوق کی (زندگی کی) ابتداء کیسے فرمائی پھر وہ دوسری زندگی کو کس طرح اٹھا کر (ارتقاء کے مراحل سے گزارتا ہوا) نشو و نما دیتا ہے۔ بیشک اللہ ہر شے پر بڑی قدرت رکھنے والا ہے
— English
Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent."
يُعَذِّبُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيَرۡحَمُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُۚ وَاِلَيۡهِ تُقۡلَبُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamuman yashao wa-ilayhi tuqlaboon
يُعَذِّبُ
yuʿadhibu
He punishes
وہ عذاب دیتا ہے
مَنۡ
man
whom
جس کو
يَّشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
چاہتا ہے
وَيَرۡحَمُ
wayarḥamu
and has mercy
اور رحم فرماتا ہے
مَنۡ
man
(on) whom
جس پر
يَّشَآءُ ۚ
yashāu
He wills
وہ چاہتا ہے
وَاِلَيۡهِ
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
اور اسی کی طرف
تُقۡلَبُوۡنَ
tuq'labūna
you will be returned
تم پھیرے جاؤ گے
Urdu —
وہ جسے چاہتا ہے عذاب دیتا ہے اور جس پر چاہتا ہے رحم فرماتا ہے اور اسی کی طرف تم پلٹائے جاؤ گے
— English
He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned.
وَمَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ بِمُعۡجِزِيۡنَ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ وَلَا فِىۡ السَّمَآءِ وَمَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ مِنۡ وَّلِىٍّ وَّلَا نَصِيۡرٍ
— Transliteration
Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee al-ardiwala fee assama-i wama lakum mindooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseer
وَمَاۤ
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
اَنۡـتُمۡ
antum
you
تم
بِمُعۡجِزِيۡنَ
bimuʿ'jizīna
can escape
عاجز کرنے والے
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین (میں)
وَلَا
walā
and not
اور نہ
فِى
fī
in
میں
السَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the heaven
آسمان (میں)
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
لَـكُمۡ
lakum
for you
تمہارے لئے
مِّنۡ
min
**besides
سے
دُوۡنِ
dūni
besides
سوا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
مِنۡ
min
any
کوئی
وَّلِىٍّ
waliyyin
protector
دوست
وَّلَا
walā
and not
اور نہ
نَصِيۡرٍ
naṣīrin
a helper
کوئی مددگار
Urdu —
اور نہ تم (اللہ کو) زمین میں عاجز کرنے والے ہو اور نہ آسمان میں اور نہ تمہارے لئے اللہ کے سوا کوئی دوست ہے اور نہ مددگار
— English
And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allah any protector or any helper.
وَالَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَلِقَآٮِٕهٖۤ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ يَٮِٕسُوۡا مِنۡ رَّحۡمَتِىۡ وَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena kafaroo bi-ayatiAllahi waliqa-ihi ola-ika ya-isoo min rahmateewaola-ika lahum AAathabun aleem
وَالَّذِيۡنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
اور وہ لوگ
كَفَرُوۡا
kafarū
disbelieve
جنہوں نے کفر کیا
بِاٰيٰتِ
biāyāti
in (the) Signs
آیات کا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کی
وَلِقَآٮِٕهٖۤ
waliqāihi
and (the) meeting (with) Him
اور اس کی ملاقات کا
اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ
ulāika
those
یہی لوگ
يَٮِٕسُوۡا
ya-isū
(have) despaired
مایوس ہوگئے ہیں
مِنۡ
min
of
سے
رَّحۡمَتِىۡ
raḥmatī
My Mercy
میری رحمت (سے)
وَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ
wa-ulāika
And those,
اور یہی لوگ
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
ان کے لئے
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
عذاب ہے
اَلِيۡمٌ
alīmun
painful
درد ناک
Urdu —
اور جن لوگوں نے اللہ کی آیتوں کا اور اس کی ملاقات کا انکار کیا وہ لوگ میری رحمت سے مایوس ہوگئے اور ان ہی لوگوں کے لئے درد ناک عذاب ہے
— English
And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment.
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ قَالُوۡا اقۡتُلُوۡهُ اَوۡ حَرِّقُوۡهُ فَاَنۡجٰٮهُ اللّٰهُ مِنَ النَّارِؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَاَيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fama kana jawabaqawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohufaanjahu Allahu mina annari inna feethalika laayatin liqawmin yu/minoon
فَمَا
famā
And not
تو نہ
كَانَ
kāna
was
تھا
جَوَابَ
jawāba
(the) answer
جواب
قَوۡمِهٖۤ
qawmihi
(of) his people
اس کی قوم کا
اِلَّاۤ
illā
except
مگر
اَنۡ
an
that
یہ کہ
قَالُوا
qālū
they said
انہوں نے کہا
اقۡتُلُوۡهُ
uq'tulūhu
Kill him
قتل کردو اس کو
اَوۡ
aw
or
یا
حَرِّقُوۡهُ
ḥarriqūhu
burn him
جلا ڈالو اس کو
فَاَنۡجٰٮهُ
fa-anjāhu
But Allah saved him
تو بچالیا اس کو
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
But Allah saved him
اللہ نے
مِنَ
mina
from
سے
النَّارِ ؕ
l-nāri
the fire
آگ (سے)
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
that,
اس (میں)
لَاٰيٰتٍ
laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
البتہ نشانیاں ہیں
لِّقَوۡمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
اس قوم کے لئے
يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
yu'minūna
who believe
جو ایمان لاتی ہو
Urdu —
سو قومِ ابراہیم کا جواب اس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ وہ کہنے لگے: تم اسے قتل کر ڈالو یا اسے جلا دو، پھر اللہ نے اسے (نمرود کی) آگ سے نجات بخشی، بیشک اس (واقعہ) میں ان لوگوں کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں جو ایمان لائے ہیں
— English
And the answer of Abraham's people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
وَقَالَ اِنَّمَا اتَّخَذۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ اَوۡثَانًا ۙ مَّوَدَّةَ بَيۡنِكُمۡ فِىۡ الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَاۚ ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُ بَعۡضُكُمۡ بِبَعۡضٍ وَّيَلۡعَنُ بَعۡضُكُمۡ بَعۡضًا وَّمَاۡوٰٮكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ نّٰصِرِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Waqala innama ittakhathtummin dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayatiaddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfurubaAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukumbaAAdan wama-wakumu annaru wamalakum min nasireen
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And he said
اور اس نے کہا
اِنَّمَا
innamā
"Only
بیشک
اتَّخَذۡتُمۡ
ittakhadhtum
you have taken
بنا لیا تم نے
مِّنۡ
min
**besides
کے
دُوۡنِ
dūni
besides
سوا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
اَوۡثَانًا ۙ
awthānan
idols
بتوں کو
مَّوَدَّةَ
mawaddata
(out of) love
محبت کا ذریعہ
بَيۡنِكُمۡ
baynikum
among you
اپنے درمیان
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡحَيٰوةِ
l-ḥayati
the life
زندگی (میں)
الدُّنۡيَا ۚ
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
دنیا کی
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
پھر
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
دن
الۡقِيٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
قیامت کے
يَكۡفُرُ
yakfuru
you will deny
انکار کرے گا
بَعۡضُكُمۡ
baʿḍukum
one another
بعض تمہارا
بِبَعۡضٍ
bibaʿḍin
one another
بعض کا
وَّيَلۡعَنُ
wayalʿanu
and curse
اور لعنت کرے گا
بَعۡضُكُمۡ
baʿḍukum
one another
بعض تمہارا
بَعۡضًا
baʿḍan
one another
بعض کو
وَّمَاۡوٰٮكُمُ
wamawākumu
and your abode
اور ٹھکانہ تمہارا
النَّارُ
l-nāru
(will be) the Fire
آگ ہے
وَمَا
wamā
and not
اور نہیں
لَـكُمۡ
lakum
for you
تمہارے لئے
مِّنۡ
min
any
سے
نّٰصِرِيۡنَ ۙ
nāṣirīna
helpers
مدد گاروں میں سے (کوئی مددگار)
Urdu —
اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: بس تم نے تو اللہ کو چھوڑ کر بتوں کو معبود بنا لیا ہے محض دنیوی زندگی میں آپس کی دوستی کی خاطر پھر روزِ قیامت تم میں سے (ہر) ایک دوسرے (کی دوستی) کا انکار کر دے گا اور تم میں سے (ہر) ایک دوسرے پر لعنت بھیجے گا، تو تمہارا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے اور تمہارے لئے کوئی بھی مددگار نہ ہوگا
— English
And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."
فَاٰمَنَ لَهٗ لُوۡطٌۘ وَقَالَ اِنِّىۡ مُهَاجِرٌ اِلٰى رَبِّىۡؕ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ
— Transliteration
Faamana lahu lootun waqalainnee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezualhakeem
۞ فَاٰمَنَ
faāmana
And believed
تو ایمان لایا
لَهٗ
lahu
[in] him
اس پر
لُوۡطٌۘ
lūṭun
Lut,
لوط
وَقَالَ
waqāla
and he said
اور اس نے کہا
اِنِّىۡ
innī
"Indeed I (am)
بیشک میں
مُهَاجِرٌ
muhājirun
emigrating
ہجرت کرنے والا ہوں
اِلٰى
ilā
to
طرف
رَبِّىۡ ؕ
rabbī
my Lord
اپنے رب کی
اِنَّهٗ
innahu
Indeed, He
بیشک وہ
هُوَ
huwa
[He] (is)
وہ
الۡعَزِيۡزُ
l-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty
زبردست ہے
الۡحَكِيۡمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
حکمت والا ہے
Urdu —
پھر لوط (علیہ السلام) ان پر (یعنی ابراہیم علیہ السلام پر) ایمان لے آئے اور انہوں نے کہا: میں اپنے رب کی طرف ہجرت کرنے والا ہوں۔ بیشک وہ غالب ہے حکمت والا ہے
— English
And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهٗۤ اِسۡحٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوۡبَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِىۡ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالۡكِتٰبَ وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُ اَجۡرَهٗ فِىۡ الدُّنۡيَاۚ وَاِنَّهٗ فِىۡ الۡاٰخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wawahabna lahu ishaqawayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi annubuwwatawalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee addunyawa-innahu fee al-akhirati lamina assaliheen
وَوَهَبۡنَا
wawahabnā
And We granted
اور عطا کیا ہم نے
لَهٗۤ
lahu
to him
اس کو
اِسۡحٰقَ
is'ḥāqa
Isaac
اسحاق
وَيَعۡقُوۡبَ
wayaʿqūba
and Yaqub
اور یعقوب
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wajaʿalnā
and We placed
اور رکھ دی ہم نے
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
ذُرِّيَّتِهِ
dhurriyyatihi
his offsprings
اس کی اولاد (میں)
النُّبُوَّةَ
l-nubuwata
the Prophethood
نبوت
وَالۡكِتٰبَ
wal-kitāba
and the Book
اور کتاب
وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُ
waātaynāhu
And We gave him
اور عطا کیا ہم نے اس کو
اَجۡرَهٗ
ajrahu
his reward
اس کا اجر
فِى
fī
in
میں
الدُّنۡيَا ۚ
l-dun'yā
the world
دنیا (میں)
وَاِنَّهٗ
wa-innahu
And indeed, he
اور بیشک وہ
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاٰخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
آخرت (میں)
لَمِنَ
lamina
(is) surely, among
البتہ سے
الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ
l-ṣāliḥīna
the righteous
صالح لوگوں میں سے ہوگا
Urdu —
اور ہم نے انہیں اسحاق اور یعقوب (علیہما السلام بیٹا اور پوتا) عطا فرمائے اور ہم نے ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کی اولاد میں نبوت اور کتاب مقرر فرما دی اور ہم نے انہیں دنیا میں (ہی) ان کا صلہ عطا فرما دیا، اور بیشک وہ آخرت میں (بھی) نیکوکاروں میں سے ہیں
— English
And We gave to Him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous.
وَلُوۡطًا اِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهٖۤ اِنَّكُمۡ لَـتَاۡتُوۡنَ الۡفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَـقَكُمۡ بِهَا مِنۡ اَحَدٍ مِّنَ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walootan ith qalaliqawmihi innakum lata/toona alfahishata masabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameen
وَلُوۡطًا
walūṭan
And Lut,
اور لوط
اِذۡ
idh
when
جب
قَالَ
qāla
he said
اس نے کہا
لِقَوۡمِهٖۤ
liqawmihi
to his people
اپنی قوم سے
اِنَّكُمۡ
innakum
"Indeed, you
بیشک تم
لَـتَاۡتُوۡنَ
latatūna
commit
البتہ تم آتے ہو
الۡفَاحِشَةَ
l-fāḥishata
the immorality
بےحیائی کو
مَا
mā
not
نہیں
سَبَـقَكُمۡ
sabaqakum
has preceded you
سبقت کی تم پر
بِهَا
bihā
with it
ساتھ اس کے
مِنۡ
min
any
کسی
اَحَدٍ
aḥadin
one
ایک نے
مِّنَ
mina
from
سے
الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
جہان والوں میں سے
Urdu —
اور لوط (علیہ السلام) کو (یاد کریں) جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: بیشک تم بڑی بے حیائی کا ارتکاب کرتے ہو، اقوامِ عالم میں سے کسی ایک (قوم) نے (بھی) اس (بے حیائی) میں تم سے پہل نہیں کی
— English
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.
اَٮِٕنَّكُمۡ لَـتَاۡتُوۡنَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقۡطَعُوۡنَ السَّبِيۡلَۙ وَتَاۡتُوۡنَ فِىۡ نَادِيۡكُمُ الۡمُنۡكَرَؕ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ قَالُوۡا ائۡتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللّٰهِ اِنۡ كُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
A-innakum lata/toona arrijalawataqtaAAoona assabeela wata/toona fee nadeekumualmunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illaan qaloo i/tina biAAathabi Allahi inkunta mina assadiqeen
اَٮِٕنَّكُمۡ
a-innakum
Indeed, you
کیا بیشک تم
لَـتَاۡتُوۡنَ
latatūna
approach
البتہ آتے ہو
الرِّجَالَ
l-rijāla
the men
مردوں کے پاس
وَتَقۡطَعُوۡنَ
wataqṭaʿūna
and you cut off
اور تم کاٹتے ہو
السَّبِيۡلَ ۙ
l-sabīla
the road
راستے کو
وَتَاۡ تُوۡنَ
watatūna
and commit
اور تم آتے ہو
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
نَادِيۡكُمُ
nādīkumu
your meetings
اپنی مجلسوں میں
الۡمُنۡكَرَ ؕ
l-munkara
evil
برائی کو
فَمَا
famā
And not
تو نہ
كَانَ
kāna
was
تھا
جَوَابَ
jawāba
(the) answer
جواب
قَوۡمِهٖۤ
qawmihi
(of) his people
اس کی قوم کا
اِلَّاۤ
illā
except
مگر
اَنۡ
an
that
یہ کہ
قَالُوا
qālū
they said
انہوں نے کہا
ائۡتِنَا
i'tinā
Bring upon us
لے آتے ہمارے پاس
بِعَذَابِ
biʿadhābi
(the) punishment
عذاب
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کا
اِنۡ
in
if
اگر
كُنۡتَ
kunta
you are
ہے تو
مِنَ
mina
of
سے
الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
سچوں میں (سے)
Urdu —
کیا تم (شہوت رانی کے لئے) مَردوں کے پاس جاتے ہو اور ڈاکہ زنی کرتے ہو اور اپنی (بھری) مجلس میں ناپسندیدہ کام کرتے ہو، تو ان کی قوم کا جواب (بھی) اس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ کہنے لگے: تم ہم پر اللہ کا عذاب لے آؤ اگر تم سچے ہو
— English
Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful."
قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرۡنِىۡ عَلَى الۡقَوۡمِ الۡمُفۡسِدِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qala rabbi onsurnee AAalaalqawmi almufsideen
قَالَ
qāla
He said
کہا
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
اے میرے رب
انْصُرۡنِىۡ
unṣur'nī
Help me
مدد فرما میری
عَلَى
ʿalā
against
پر
الۡقَوۡمِ
l-qawmi
the people
قوم
الۡمُفۡسِدِيۡنَ
l-muf'sidīna
the corrupters
مفسد (قوم پر)
Urdu —
لوط (علیہ السلام) نے عرض کیا: اے رب! تو فساد انگیزی کرنے والی قوم کے خلاف میری مدد فرما
— English
He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَاۤ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ بِالۡبُشۡرٰىۙ قَالُـوۡۤا اِنَّا مُهۡلِكُوۡۤا اَهۡلِ هٰذِهِ الۡقَرۡيَةِۚ اِنَّ اَهۡلَهَا كَانُوۡا ظٰلِمِيۡنَ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
Walamma jaat rusulunaibraheema bilbushra qaloo innamuhlikoo ahli hathihi alqaryati inna ahlaha kanoothalimeen
وَلَمَّا
walammā
And when
اور جب
جَآءَتۡ
jāat
came
آئے
رُسُلُنَاۤ
rusulunā
Our messengers
ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتے)
اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ
ib'rāhīma
(to) Ibrahim
ابراہیم کے پاس
بِالۡبُشۡرٰىۙ
bil-bush'rā
with the glad tidings
خوش خبری لے کر
قَالُـوۡۤا
qālū
they said
انہوں نے کہا
اِنَّا
innā
"Indeed, we
بیشک ہم
مُهۡلِكُوۡۤا
muh'likū
(are) ing to destroy
ہلاک کرنے والے ہیں
اَهۡلِ
ahli
(the) people
رہنے والوں کو
هٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(of) this
اس
الۡقَرۡيَةِ ۚ
l-qaryati
town
بستی کے (رہنے والوں کو)
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
کیونکہ
اَهۡلَهَا
ahlahā
its people
اس کے رہنے والے
كَانُوۡا
kānū
are
ہیں
ظٰلِمِيۡنَ ۖ ۚ
ẓālimīna
wrongdoers
ظالم ہوچکے (ہیں)
Urdu —
اور جب ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتے) ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے پاس خوشخبری لے کر آئے (تو) انہوں نے (ساتھ) یہ (بھی) کہا کہ ہم اس بستی کے مکینوں کو ہلاک کرنے والے ہیں کیونکہ یہاں کے باشندے ظالم ہیں
— English
And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good tidings, they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that Lot's city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."
قَالَ اِنَّ فِيۡهَا لُوۡطًاؕ قَالُوۡا نَحۡنُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَنۡ فِيۡهَا لَـنُـنَجِّيَنَّهٗ وَاَهۡلَهٗۤ اِلَّا امۡرَاَتَهٗ كَانَتۡ مِنَ الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qala inna feeha lootanqaloo nahnu aAAlamu biman feehalanunajjiyannahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat minaalghabireen
قَالَ
qāla
He said
ابراہیم نے کہا
اِنَّ
inna
"Indeed,
بیشک
فِيۡهَا
fīhā
in it
اس میں
لُوۡطًا ؕ
lūṭan
(is) Lut."
لوط ہیں
قَالُوۡا
qālū
They said
وہ بولے (فرشتے)
نَحۡنُ
naḥnu
"We
ہم
اَعۡلَمُ
aʿlamu
know better
زیادہ جانتے ہیں
بِمَنۡ
biman
who
اس کو جو
فِيۡهَا
fīhā
(is) in it.
اس میں ہے
لَـنُـنَجِّيَـنَّهٗ
lanunajjiyannahu
We will surely save him
البتہ ہم ضرور نجات دیں گے اس کو
وَاَهۡلَهٗۤ
wa-ahlahu
and his family
اور اس کے گھر والوں کو
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
امۡرَاَتَهٗ
im'ra-atahu
his wife
اس کی بیوی
كَانَتۡ
kānat
She
ہے
مِنَ
mina
(is) of
سے
الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ
l-ghābirīna
those who remain behind
پیچھے رہنے والوں میں (سے)
Urdu —
ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: اس (بستی) میں تو لوط (علیہ السلام بھی) ہیں، انہوں نے کہا: ہم ان لوگوں کوخوب جانتے ہیں جو (جو) اس میں (رہتے) ہیں ہم لوط (علیہ السلام) کو اور ان کے گھر والوں کو سوائے ان کی عورت کے ضرور بچالیں گے، وہ پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں سے ہے
— English
[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind."
وَلَمَّاۤ اَنۡ جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُـنَا لُوۡطًا سِىۡٓءَ بِهِمۡ وَضَاقَ بِهِمۡ ذَرۡعًا وَّقَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ اِنَّا مُنَجُّوۡكَ وَاَهۡلَكَ اِلَّا امۡرَاَتَكَ كَانَتۡ مِنَ الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walamma an jaat rusulunalootan see-a bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqaloola takhaf wala tahzan inna munajjookawaahlaka illa imraataka kanat mina alghabireen
وَلَمَّاۤ
walammā
And when
اور جب
اَنۡ
an
[that]
یہ کہ
جَآءَتۡ
jāat
came
آگئے
رُسُلُـنَا
rusulunā
Our messengers
ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتے)
لُوۡطًا
lūṭan
(to) Lut
لوط کے پاس
سِىۡٓءَ
sīa
he was distressed
غمگین ہو
بِهِمۡ
bihim
for them,
ان پر
وَضَاقَ
waḍāqa
and felt straitened
اور تنگ ہوا
بِهِمۡ
bihim
for them
ان سے
ذَرۡعًا
dharʿan
(and) uneasy
دل میں
وَّقَالُوۡا
waqālū
And they said
اور انہوں نے کہا
لَا
lā
"(Do) not
نہ
تَخَفۡ
takhaf
fear
ڈرو
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
اور نہ
تَحۡزَنۡ
taḥzan
grieve
غم کرو
اِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
بیشک ہم
مُنَجُّوۡكَ
munajjūka
(will) save you
نجات دینے والے ہیں تجھ کو
وَاَهۡلَكَ
wa-ahlaka
and your family
اور تیرے گھر والوں کو
اِلَّا
illā
except
سوائے
امۡرَاَتَكَ
im'ra-ataka
your wife
تیری بیوی کے
كَانَتۡ
kānat
She
ہے وہ
مِنَ
mina
(is) of
سے
الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ
l-ghābirīna
those who remain behind
پیچھے رہنے والوں میں (سے)
Urdu —
اور جب ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتے) لوط (علیہ السلام) کے پاس آئے تو وہ ان (کے آنے) سے رنجیدہ ہوئے اور ان کے (ارادۂ عذاب کے) باعث نڈھال سے ہوگئے اور (فرشتوں نے) کہا: آپ نہ خوفزدہ ہوں اور نہ غم زدہ ہوں، بیشک ہم آپ کو اور آپ کے گھر والوں کو بچانے والے ہیں سوائے آپ کی عورت کے وہ (عذاب کے لئے) پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں سے ہے
— English
And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort. They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind.
اِنَّا مُنۡزِلُوۡنَ عَلٰٓى اَهۡلِ هٰذِهِ الۡقَرۡيَةِ رِجۡزًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡسُقُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Inna munziloona AAala ahli hathihialqaryati rijzan mina assama-i bima kanooyafsuqoon
اِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
بیشک ہم
مُنۡزِلُوۡنَ
munzilūna
(will) bring down
اتارنے والے ہیں/ نازل کرنے والے ہیں
عَلٰٓى
ʿalā
on
اوپر
اَهۡلِ
ahli
(the) people
رہنے والوں کے
هٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(of) this
اس
الۡقَرۡيَةِ
l-qaryati
town
بستی کے
رِجۡزًا
rij'zan
a punishment
ایک عذاب
مِّنَ
mina
from
سے
السَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
(the) sky
آسمان (سے)
بِمَا
bimā
because
بوجہ اس کے جو
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they have been
تھے وہ
يَفۡسُقُوۡنَ
yafsuqūna
defiantly disobedient
وہ نافرمانی کرتے
Urdu —
بیشک ہم اس بستی کے باشندوں پر آسمان سے عذاب نازل کرنے والے ہیں اس وجہ سے کہ وہ نافرمانی کیا کرتے تھے
— English
Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."
وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَا مِنۡهَاۤ اٰيَةًۢ بَيِّنَةً لِّـقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡقِلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walaqad tarakna minha ayatanbayyinatan liqawmin yaAAqiloon
وَلَقَد
walaqad
And verily,
اور البتہ تحقیق
تَّرَكۡنَا
taraknā
We have left
چھوڑ دی ہم نے
مِنۡهَاۤ
min'hā
about it
اس میں سے
اٰيَةًۢ
āyatan
a sign
ایک نشانی
بَيِّنَةً
bayyinatan
(as) evidence
کھلی کھلی
لِّـقَوۡمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
اس قوم کے لئے
يَّعۡقِلُوۡنَ
yaʿqilūna
who use reason
جو عقل رکھتی ہو
Urdu —
اور بیشک ہم نے اس بستی سے (ویران مکانوں کو) ایک واضح نشانی کے طور پر عقل مند لوگوں کے لئے برقرار رکھا
— English
And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.
وَاِلٰى مَدۡيَنَ اَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبًاۙ فَقَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوۡا اللّٰهَ وَارۡجُوۡا الۡيَوۡمَ الۡاٰخِرَ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡا فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wa-ila madyana akhahumshuAAayban faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allahawarjoo alyawma al-akhira wala taAAthaw feeal-ardi mufsideen
وَاِلٰى
wa-ilā
And to
اور طرف
مَدۡيَنَ
madyana
Madyan
مدین کی
اَخَاهُمۡ
akhāhum
their brother
ان کے بھائی
شُعَيۡبًا ۙ
shuʿayban
Shuaib.
شعیب کو بھیجا
فَقَالَ
faqāla
And he said
تو اس نے کہا
يٰقَوۡمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
اے میری قوم
اعۡبُدُوا
uʿ'budū
Worship
عبادت کرو
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ کی
وَ ارۡجُوا
wa-ir'jū
and expect
اور امید رکھو
الۡيَوۡمَ
l-yawma
the Day
دن کی
الۡاٰخِرَ
l-ākhira
the Last
آخری
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
اور نہ
تَعۡثَوۡا
taʿthaw
commit evil
تم پھرو
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین (میں)
مُفۡسِدِيۡنَ
muf'sidīna
(as) corrupters
مفسد بن کر
Urdu —
اور مَدیَن کی طرف ان کے (قومی) بھائی شعیب (علیہ السلام) کو (بھیجا)، سو انہوں نے کہا: اے میری قوم! اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور یومِ آخرت کی امید رکھو اور زمین میں فساد انگیزی نہ کرتے پھرو
— English
And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."
فَكَذَّبُوۡهُ فَاَخَذَتۡهُمُ الرَّجۡفَةُ فَاَصۡبَحُوۡا فِىۡ دَارِهِمۡ جٰثِمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fakaththaboohu faakhathat-humuarrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeen
فَكَذَّبُوۡهُ
fakadhabūhu
But they denied him
تو انہوں نے جھٹلادیا اس کو
فَاَخَذَتۡهُمُ
fa-akhadhathumu
so seized them
تو پکڑ لیا ان کو
الرَّجۡفَةُ
l-rajfatu
the earthquake
ایک زلزلے نے
فَاَصۡبَحُوۡا
fa-aṣbaḥū
and they became
تو ہوگئے وہ
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
دَارِهِمۡ
dārihim
their home
اپنے گھروں (میں)
جٰثِمِيۡنَ
jāthimīna
fallen prone
گھنٹوں کے بل گرنے والے
Urdu —
تو انہوں نے شعیب (علیہ السلام) کو جھٹلا ڈالا پس انہیں (بھی) زلزلہ (کے عذاب) نے آپکڑا، سو انہوں نے صبح اس حال میں کی کہ اپنے گھروں میں اوندھے منہ (مُردہ) پڑے تھے
— English
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.
وَعَادًا وَّثَمُوۡدَا۟ وَقَدْ تَّبَيَّنَ لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ مَّسٰكِنِهِمۡ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيۡطٰنُ اَعۡمَالَهُمۡ فَصَدَّهُمۡ عَنِ السَّبِيۡلِ وَكَانُوۡا مُسۡتَـبۡصِرِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyanalakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu ashshaytanuaAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani assabeeli wakanoomustabsireen
وَعَادًا
waʿādan
And Aad
اور قوم عاد کو
وَّثَمُوۡدَا۟
wathamūdā
and Thamud,
اور قوم ثمود کو
وَقَدْ
waqad
and verily,
اور تحقیق
تَّبَيَّنَ
tabayyana
(has) become clear
واضح ہوگئے
لَـكُمۡ
lakum
to you
تمہارے لئے
مِّنۡ
min
from
کے
مَّسٰكِنِهِمۡ
masākinihim
their dwellings
ان کے گھر/ مسکن
وَزَيَّنَ
wazayyana
And made fair-seeming
اور خوب صورت بنادیا
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
ان کے لئے
الشَّيۡطٰنُ
l-shayṭānu
the Shaitaan
شیطان نے
اَعۡمَالَهُمۡ
aʿmālahum
their deeds
ان کے اعمال کو
فَصَدَّهُمۡ
faṣaddahum
and averted them
تو اس نے روک دیا ان کو
عَنِ
ʿani
from
سے
السَّبِيۡلِ
l-sabīli
the Way
راستے (سے)
وَكَانُوۡا
wakānū
though they were
اور تھے وہ
مُسۡتَـبۡصِرِيۡنَۙ
mus'tabṣirīna
endowed with insight
ہوش رکھنے والے/ عقلمند
Urdu —
اور عاد اور ثمود کو (بھی ہم نے ہلاک کیا) اور بیشک ان کے کچھ (تباہ شدہ) مکانات تمہارے لیئے (بطورِ عبرت) ظاہر ہو چکے ہیں اور شیطان نے ان کے اَعمالِ بد، ان کے لئے خوش نما بنا دیئے تھے اورانہیں (حق کی) راہ سے پھیر دیا تھا حالانکہ وہ بینا و دانا تھے
— English
And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.
وَقَارُوۡنَ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَامٰنَ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ مُّوۡسٰى بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ فَاسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا كَانُوۡا سٰبِقِيۡنَ ۖۚ
— Transliteration
Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamanawalaqad jaahum moosa bilbayyinati fastakbaroofee al-ardi wama kanoo sabiqeen
وَقَارُوۡنَ
waqārūna
And Qarun,
اور قارون
وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ
wafir'ʿawna
and Firaun
اور فرعون
وَهَامٰنَ
wahāmāna
and Haman.
اور ہامان
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
اور البتہ تحقیق
جَآءَهُمۡ
jāahum
came to them
آئے ان کے پاس
مُّوۡسٰى
mūsā
Musa
موسیٰ
بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ
bil-bayināti
with clear evidences
روشن دلائل کے ساتھ
فَاسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا
fa-is'takbarū
but they were arrogant
تو انہوں نے تکبر کیا
فِى
fī
in
میں
الۡاَرۡضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
زمین (میں)
وَمَا
wamā
and not
اور نہ
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they could
تھے وہ
سٰبِقِيۡنَ ۖ ۚ
sābiqīna
outstrip Us
سبقت لے جانے والے
Urdu —
اور (ہم نے) قارون اور فرعون اور ہامان کو (بھی ہلاک کیا) اور بیشک موسٰی (علیہ السلام) ان کے پاس واضح نشانیاں لے کر آئے تھے تو انہوں نے ملک میں غرور و سرکشی کی اور وہ (ہماری گرفت سے) آگے بڑھ جانے والے نہ تھے
— English
And [We destroyed] Qarun and Pharaoh and Haman. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment].
فَكُلاًّ اَخَذۡنَا بِذَنۡۢبِهٖۚ فَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ حَاصِبًاۚ وَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ اَخَذَتۡهُ الصَّيۡحَةُ ۚ وَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ خَسَفۡنَا بِهِ الۡاَرۡضَۚ وَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ اَغۡرَقۡنَاۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلٰـكِنۡ كَانُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fakullan akhathna bithanbihifaminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum manakhathat-hu assayhatu waminhum mankhasafna bihi al-arda waminhum man aghraqnawama kana Allahu liyathlimahumwalakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoon
فَكُلًّا
fakullan
So each
تو ہر ایک کو
اَخَذۡنَا
akhadhnā
We seized
پکڑ لیا ہم نے
بِذَنۡۢبِهٖ ۚ
bidhanbihi
for his sin
اس کے گناہ کے ساتھ
فَمِنۡهُمۡ
famin'hum
Then of them
تو ان میں سے کچھ
مَّنۡ
man
(was he) who,
وہ جس کو
اَرۡسَلۡنَا
arsalnā
We sent
بھیجی ہم نے
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
on him
اس پر
حَاصِبًا ۚ
ḥāṣiban
a violent storm
پتھروں والی بارش
وَمِنۡهُمۡ
wamin'hum
and of them
اور ان میں سے
مَّنۡ
man
(was he) who,
کچھ وہ
اَخَذَتۡهُ
akhadhathu
seized him
جس کو پکڑ لیا
الصَّيۡحَةُ ۚ
l-ṣayḥatu
the awful cry
دھماکے نے
وَمِنۡهُمۡ
wamin'hum
and of them
اور ان میں سے کچھ
مَّنۡ
man
(was he) who,
وہ جس کو
خَسَفۡنَا
khasafnā
We caused to swallow
دھنسادیا ہم نے
بِهِ
bihi
him,
اس کے ساتھ
الۡاَرۡضَ ۚ
l-arḍa
the earth
زمین میں
وَمِنۡهُمۡ
wamin'hum
and of them
اور ان میں سے کچھ
مَّنۡ
man
(was he) who,
وہ جس کو
اَغۡرَقۡنَا ۚ
aghraqnā
We drowned
غرق کردیا ہم نے
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
كَانَ
kāna
was
ہے
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ
لِيَـظۡلِمَهُمۡ
liyaẓlimahum
to wrong them
کہ ظلم کرے ان پر
وَلٰـكِنۡ
walākin
but
لیکن
كَانُوۡۤا
kānū
they were
تھے وہ
اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ
anfusahum
themselves
اپنی جانوں پر
يَظۡلِمُوۡنَ
yaẓlimūna
doing wrong
ظلم کرتے
Urdu —
سو ہم نے (ان میں سے) ہر ایک کو اس کے گناہ کے باعث پکڑ لیا، اور ان میں سے وہ (طبقہ بھی) تھا جس پر ہم نے پتھر برسانے والی آندھی بھیجی اوران میں سے وہ (طبقہ بھی) تھا جسے دہشت ناک آواز نے آپکڑا اور ان میں سے وہ (طبقہ بھی) تھا جسے ہم نے زمین میں دھنسا دیا اور ان میں سے (ایک) وہ (طبقہ بھی) تھا جسے ہم نے غرق کر دیا اور ہرگز ایسا نہ تھا کہ اللہ ان پر ظلم کرے بلکہ وہ خود ہی اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کرتے تھے
— English
So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves.
مَثَلُ الَّذِيۡنَ اتَّخَذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ اَوۡلِيَآءَ كَمَثَلِ الۡعَنۡكَبُوۡتِ ۖۚ اتَّخَذَتۡ بَيۡتًاؕ وَاِنَّ اَوۡهَنَ الۡبُيُوۡتِ لَبَيۡتُ الۡعَنۡكَبُوۡتِۘ لَوۡ كَانُوۡا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoomin dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabootiittakhathat baytan wa-inna awhana albuyooti labaytualAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoon
مَثَلُ
mathalu
(The) example
مثال
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
ان لوگوں کی
اتَّخَذُوۡا
ittakhadhū
take
جنہوں نے بنالئے
مِنۡ
min
**besides
کے
دُوۡنِ
dūni
besides
سوا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے (سوا)
اَوۡلِيَآءَ
awliyāa
protectors
سرپرست
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali
(is) like
مانند مثال
الۡعَنۡكَبُوۡتِ ۖۚ
l-ʿankabūti
the spider
ایک مکڑی کے ہے
اِتَّخَذَتۡ
ittakhadhat
who takes
جس نے بنا لیا
بَيۡتًا ؕ
baytan
a house
ایک گھر
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
اَوۡهَنَ
awhana
the weakest
سب سے کمزور
الۡبُيُوۡتِ
l-buyūti
(of) houses
گھروں میں
لَبَيۡتُ
labaytu
(is) surely (the) house
البتہ گھر ہے
الۡعَنۡكَبُوۡتِۘ
l-ʿankabūti
(of) the spider
مکڑی کا
لَوۡ
law
if (only)
کاش کہ
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they
ہوتے وہ
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
yaʿlamūna
know
علم رکھتے/ جانتے
Urdu —
ایسے (کافر) لوگوں کی مثال جنہوں نے اللہ کو چھوڑ کر اوروں (یعنی بتوں) کو کارساز بنا لیا ہے مکڑی کی داستان جیسی ہے جس نے (اپنے لئے جالے کا) گھر بنایا، اور بیشک سب گھروں سے زیادہ کمزور مکڑی کا گھر ہے، کاش! وہ لوگ (یہ بات) جانتے ہوتے
— English
The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِهٖ مِنۡ شَىۡءٍؕ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ
— Transliteration
Inna Allaha yaAAlamu mayadAAoona min doonihi min shay-in wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeem
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʿlamu
knows
جانتا ہے
مَا
mā
what
اس کو جسے
يَدۡعُوۡنَ
yadʿūna
they invoke
وہ پکارتے ہیں
مِنۡ
min
**besides Him
سے
دُوۡنِهٖ
dūnihi
besides Him
اس کے سوا
مِنۡ
min
any
کوئی بھی
شَىۡءٍؕ
shayin
thing
چیز
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
اور وہ
الۡعَزِيۡزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
زبردست ہے
الۡحَكِيۡمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
حکمت والا ہے
Urdu —
بیشک اللہ ان (بتوں کی حقیقت) کو جانتا ہے جن کی بھی وہ اس کے سوا پوجا کرتے ہیں، اور وہی غالب ہے حکمت والا ہے
— English
Indeed, Allah knows whatever thing they call upon other than Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
وَتِلۡكَ الۡاَمۡثَالُ نَضۡرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِۚ وَمَا يَعۡقِلُهَاۤ اِلَّا الۡعٰلِمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Watilka al-amthalu nadribuhalinnasi wama yaAAqiluha illaalAAalimoon
وَتِلۡكَ
watil'ka
And these
اور یہ
الۡاَمۡثَالُ
l-amthālu
examples
مثالیں
نَضۡرِبُهَا
naḍribuhā
We set forth
ہم بیان کرتے ہیں ان کو
لِلنَّاسِۚ
lilnnāsi
to mankind
لوگوں کے لئے
وَمَا
wamā
but not
اور نہیں
يَعۡقِلُهَاۤ
yaʿqiluhā
will understand them
سمجھتے ان مثالوں کو
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الۡعٰلِمُوۡنَ
l-ʿālimūna
those of knowledge
عالم لوگ/ جاننے والے
Urdu —
اور یہ مثالیں ہیں ہم انہیں لوگوں (کے سمجھانے) کے لئے بیان کرتے ہیں، اور انہیں اہلِ علم کے سوا کوئی نہیں سمجھتا
— English
And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.
خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ بِالۡحَـقِّؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَاَيَةً لِّـلۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Khalaqa Allahu assamawatiwal-arda bilhaqqi inna fee thalikalaayatan lilmu-mineen
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
Allah created
پیدا کیا
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah created
اللہ نے
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
آسمانوں کو
وَ الۡاَرۡضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
اور زمین کو
بِالۡحَـقِّ ؕ
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
حق کے ساتھ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
یقیناً
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
ذٰ لِكَ
dhālika
that
اس (میں)
لَاٰيَةً
laāyatan
(is) surely a Sign
البتہ ایک نشانی ہے
لِّـلۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ
lil'mu'minīna
for the believers
ایمان لانے والوں کے لئے
Urdu —
اللہ نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو درست تدبیر کے ساتھ پیدا فرمایا ہے، بیشک اس (تخلیق) میں اہلِ ایمان کے لئے (اس کی وحدانیت اور قدرت کی) نشانی ہے
— English
Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth. Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.
اُتۡلُ مَاۤ اُوۡحِىَ اِلَيۡكَ مِنَ الۡكِتٰبِ وَاَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَ ؕ اِنَّ الصَّلٰوةَ تَنۡهٰى عَنِ الۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَالۡمُنۡكَرِؕ وَلَذِكۡرُ اللّٰهِ اَكۡبَرُ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَصۡنَعُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Otlu ma oohiya ilayka minaalkitabi waaqimi assalata inna assalatatanha AAani alfahsha-i walmunkariwalathikru Allahi akbaru wallahuyaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoon
اُتۡلُ
ut'lu
Recite
پڑھ سنایے
مَاۤ
mā
what
جو
اُوۡحِىَ
ūḥiya
has been revealed
وحی کیا گیا
اِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
to you
آپ کی طرف
مِنَ
mina
of
سے
الۡكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
the Book
کتاب
وَاَقِمِ
wa-aqimi
and establish
اور قائم کیجیے
الصَّلٰوةَ ؕ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
نماز
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
کیونکہ
الصَّلٰوةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
نماز
تَنۡهٰى
tanhā
prevents
روکتی ہے
عَنِ
ʿani
from
سے
الۡفَحۡشَآءِ
l-faḥshāi
the immorality
بےحیائی
وَالۡمُنۡكَرِؕ
wal-munkari
and evil deeds
اور برائی سے
وَلَذِكۡرُ
waladhik'ru
and surely (the) remembrance
اور البتہ ذکر ہے
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کا
اَكۡبَرُ ؕ
akbaru
(is) greatest
زیادہ بڑی چیز
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
اور اللہ
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʿlamu
knows
جانتا ہے
مَا
mā
what
جو
تَصۡنَعُوۡنَ
taṣnaʿūna
you do
تم کرتے ہو
Urdu —
(اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) آپ وہ کتاب پڑھ کر سنائیے جو آپ کی طرف (بذریعہ) وحی بھیجی گئی ہے، اور نماز قائم کیجئے، بیشک نماز بے حیائی اور برائی سے روکتی ہے، اور واقعی اﷲ کا ذکر سب سے بڑا ہے، اور اﷲ ان (کاموں) کو جانتا ہے جو تم کرتے ہو
— English
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.
وَلَا تُجَادِلُوۡٓا اَهۡلَ الۡكِتٰبِ اِلَّا بِالَّتِىۡ هِىَ اَحۡسَنُ ۖ اِلَّا الَّذِيۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ وَقُوۡلُوۡٓا اٰمَنَّا بِالَّذِىۡۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡنَا وَاُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكُمۡ وَاِلٰهُـنَا وَاِلٰهُكُمۡ وَاحِدٌ وَّنَحۡنُ لَهٗ مُسۡلِمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabiilla billatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheenathalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna billatheeonzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wa-ilahunawa-ilahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoon
وَلَا
walā
**And (do) not
اور نہ
تُجَادِلُوۡٓا
tujādilū
argue
تم بحث کرو۔ تم جھگڑو
اَهۡلَ
ahla
(with the) People of the Book
اہل
الۡكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
(with the) People of the Book
کتاب سے
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
بِالَّتِىۡ
bi-allatī
by which
ساتھ اس طریقے کے
هِىَ
hiya
[it]
وہ جو
اَحۡسَنُ ۖ
aḥsanu
(is) best
سب سے اچھا ہے
اِلَّا
illā
except
سوائے
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
those who
ان لوگوں کے
ظَلَمُوۡا
ẓalamū
(do) wrong
جنہوں نے ظلم کیا
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
among them,
ان میں سے
وَقُوۡلُوۡٓا
waqūlū
and say
اور کہو
اٰمَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
ایمان لائے ہم
بِالَّذِىۡۤ
bi-alladhī
in that (which)
ساتھ اس چیز کے جو
اُنۡزِلَ
unzila
has been revealed
اتاری گئی
اِلَيۡنَا
ilaynā
to us
ہماری طرف
وَاُنۡزِلَ
wa-unzila
and was revealed
اور اتاری گئی
اِلَيۡكُمۡ
ilaykum
to you
تمہاری طرف
وَاِلٰهُـنَا
wa-ilāhunā
And our God
اور الہ ہمارا
وَاِلٰهُكُمۡ
wa-ilāhukum
and your God
اور الہ تمہارا
وَاحِدٌ
wāḥidun
(is) One
ایک ہے
وَّنَحۡنُ
wanaḥnu
and we
اور ہم
لَهٗ
lahu
to Him
اس کے لیے
مُسۡلِمُوۡنَ
mus'limūna
submit
فرمانبردار ہیں
Urdu —
اور (اے مومنو!) اہلِ کتاب سے نہ جھگڑا کرو مگر ایسے طریقہ سے جو بہتر ہو سوائے ان لوگوں کے جنہوں نے ان میں سے ظلم کیا، اور (ان سے) کہہ دو کہ ہم اس (کتاب) پر ایمان لائے (ہیں) جو ہماری طرف اتاری گئی (ہے) اور جو تمہاری طرف اتاری گئی تھی، اور ہمارا معبود اور تمہارا معبود ایک ہی ہے، اور ہم اسی کے فرمانبردار ہیں
— English
And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
وَكَذٰلِكَ اَنۡزَلۡنَاۤ اِلَيۡكَ الۡكِتٰبَؕ فَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰتَيۡنٰهُمُ الۡكِتٰبَ يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِهٖۚ وَمِنۡ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ مَنۡ يُّؤۡمِنُ بِهٖ ؕ وَمَا يَجۡحَدُ بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wakathalika anzalna ilaykaalkitaba fallatheena ataynahumualkitaba yu/minoona bihi wamin haola-i manyu/minu bihi wama yajhadu bi-ayatinailla alkafiroon
وَكَذٰلِكَ
wakadhālika
And thus
اور اسی طرح
اَنۡزَلۡنَاۤ
anzalnā
We (have) revealed
نازل کی ہم نے
اِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
to you
آپ کی طرف
الۡكِتٰبَؕ
l-kitāba
the Book
کتاب
فَالَّذِيۡنَ
fa-alladhīna
So those
تو وہ لوگ
اٰتَيۡنٰهُمُ
ātaynāhumu
We gave [them]
دی ہم نے ان کو
الۡكِتٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
کتاب
يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
yu'minūna
believe
وہ ایمان رکھتے ہیں
بِهٖۚ
bihi
therein.
ساتھ اس کے
وَمِنۡ
wamin
And among
اور ان
هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ
hāulāi
these
لوگوں میں سے کوئی ہے
مَنۡ
man
(are some) who
جو
يُّؤۡمِنُ
yu'minu
believe
ایمان رکھتا ہے
بِهٖ ؕ
bihi
therein.
ساتھ اس کے
وَ مَا
wamā
And none
اور نہیں
يَجۡحَدُ
yajḥadu
reject
انکار کرتے
بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ
biāyātinā
Our Verses
ہماری آیات کا
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ
l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers
کافر لوگ
Urdu —
اور اسی طرح ہم نے آپ کی طرف کتاب اتاری، تو جن (حق شناس) لوگوں کو ہم نے (پہلے سے) کتاب عطا کر رکھی تھی وہ اس (کتاب) پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور اِن (اہلِ مکّہ) میں سے (بھی) ایسے ہیں جو اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور ہماری آیتوں کا اِنکار کافروں کے سوا کوئی نہیں کرتا
— English
And thus We have sent down to you the Qur'an. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.
وَمَا كُنۡتَ تَـتۡلُوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلِهٖ مِنۡ كِتٰبٍ وَّلَا تَخُطُّهٗ بِيَمِيۡنِكَ اِذًا لَّارۡتَابَ الۡمُبۡطِلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabinwala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lartabaalmubtiloon
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہ
كُنۡتَ
kunta
(did) you
تھے تم
تَـتۡلُوۡا
tatlū
recite
تم پڑھتے
مِنۡ
min
**before it,
اس سے
قَبۡلِهٖ
qablihi
before it
پہلے
مِنۡ
min
any
کوئی
كِتٰبٍ
kitābin
Book
کتاب
وَّلَا
walā
and not
اور نہ
تَخُطُّهٗ
takhuṭṭuhu
(did) you write it
تم لکھتے تھے اس کو
بِيَمِيۡنِكَ
biyamīnika
with your right hand
اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے
اِذًا
idhan
in that case
تب البتہ
لَّارۡتَابَ
la-ir'tāba
surely (would) have doubted
شک میں پڑجاتے
الۡمُبۡطِلُوۡنَ
l-mub'ṭilūna
the falsifiers
باطل پرست
Urdu —
اور (اے حبیب!) اس سے پہلے آپ کوئی کتاب نہیں پڑھا کرتے تھے اور نہ ہی آپ اسے اپنے ہاتھ سے لکھتے تھے ورنہ اہلِ باطل اسی وقت ضرور شک میں پڑ جاتے
— English
And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.
بَلۡ هُوَ اٰيٰتٌۢ بَيِّنٰتٌ فِىۡ صُدُوۡرِ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوۡا الۡعِلۡمَؕ وَمَا يَجۡحَدُ بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ اِلَّا الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatunfee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wamayajhadu bi-ayatina illa aththalimoon
بَلۡ
bal
Nay,
بلکہ
هُوَ
huwa
it
وہ
اٰيٰتٌۢ
āyātun
(is) Verses
آیات ہیں۔ نشانیاں ہیں
بَيِّنٰتٌ
bayyinātun
clear
روشن
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
صُدُوۡرِ
ṣudūri
(the) breasts
سینے میں
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
ان لوگوں کے
اُوۡتُوا
ūtū
are given
جو دیئے گئے
الۡعِلۡمَؕ
l-ʿil'ma
the knowledge
علم
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
يَجۡحَدُ
yajḥadu
reject
انکار کرتے
بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ
biāyātinā
Our Verses
ہماری آیات کا
اِلَّا
illā
except
مگر
الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ
l-ẓālimūna
the wrongdoers
ظالم
Urdu —
بلکہ وہ (قرآن ہی کی) واضح آیتیں ہیں جو ان لوگوں کے سینوں میں (محفوظ) ہیں جنہیں (صحیح) علم عطا کیا گیا ہے، اور ظالموں کے سوا ہماری آیتوں کا کوئی انکار نہیں کرتا
— English
Rather, the Qur'an is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers.
وَقَالُوۡا لَوۡلَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ اٰيٰتٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّهٖؕ قُلۡ اِنَّمَا الۡاٰيٰتُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ ؕ وَاِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا۟ نَذِيۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌ
— Transliteration
Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatunmin rabbihi qul innama al-ayatu AAinda Allahiwa-innama ana natheerun mubeen
وَقَالُوۡا
waqālū
And they say
اور وہ کہتے ہیں
لَوۡلَاۤ
lawlā
`Why not
کیوں نہیں
اُنۡزِلَ
unzila
are sent down
اتاری گئیں
عَلَيۡهِ
ʿalayhi
to him
اس پر
اٰيٰتٌ
āyātun
(the) Signs
آیات۔ نشانیاں۔ معجزات
مِّنۡ
min
from
سے
رَّبِّهٖؕ
rabbihi
his Lord
اس کے رب کی طرف
قُلۡ
qul
Say
کہہ دیجیے
اِنَّمَا
innamā
`Only
بیشک
الۡاٰيٰتُ
l-āyātu
the Signs
آیات۔ نشانیاں
عِنۡدَ
ʿinda
(are) with
پاس
اللّٰهِ ؕ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ کے
وَاِنَّمَاۤ
wa-innamā
and only
اور بیشک
اَنَا۟
anā
I (am)
میں
نَذِيۡرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
ڈرانے والا ہوں
مُّبِيۡنٌ
mubīnun
clear
کھلم کھلا
Urdu —
اور کفّار کہتے ہیں کہ اِن پر (یعنی نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر) ان کے رب کی طرف سے نشانیاں کیوں نہیں اتاری گئیں، آپ فرما دیجئے کہ نشانیاں تو اﷲ ہی کے پاس ہیں اور میں تو محض صریح ڈر سنانے والا ہوں
— English
But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner."
اَوَلَمۡ يَكۡفِهِمۡ اَنَّاۤ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ الۡكِتٰبَ يُتۡلٰى عَلَيۡهِمۡؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَرَحۡمَةً وَّذِكۡرٰى لِقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Awa lam yakfihim anna anzalnaAAalayka alkitaba yutla AAalayhim inna fee thalikalarahmatan wathikra liqawmin yu/minoon
اَوَلَمۡ
awalam
And is (it) not
کیا بھلا نہیں
يَكۡفِهِمۡ
yakfihim
sufficient for them
کافی ان کو
اَنَّاۤ
annā
that We
بیشک ہم نے
اَنۡزَلۡنَا
anzalnā
revealed
نازل کیا ہم نے
عَلَيۡكَ
ʿalayka
to you
آپ پر
الۡكِتٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
کتاب کو
يُتۡلٰى
yut'lā
(which) is recited
جو پڑھ کر سنائی جاتی ہیں
عَلَيۡهِمۡؕ
ʿalayhim
to them?
ان کو
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
فِىۡ
fī
in
اس میں
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
that,
البتہ
لَرَحۡمَةً
laraḥmatan
surely is a mercy
رحمت ہے
وَّذِكۡرٰى
wadhik'rā
and a reminder
اور نصیحت
لِقَوۡمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
اس قوم کے لیے
يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
yu'minūna
who believe
جو ایمان رکھتی ہو
Urdu —
کیا ان کے لئے یہ (نشانی) کافی نہیں ہے کہ ہم نے آپ پر (وہ) کتاب نازل فرمائی ہے جو ان پر پڑھی جاتی ہے (یا ہمیشہ پڑھی جاتی رہے گی)، بیشک اس (کتاب) میں رحمت اور نصیحت ہے ان لوگوں کے لئے جو ایمان رکھتے ہیں
— English
And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.
قُلۡ كَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ بَيۡنِىۡ وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ شَهِيۡدًا ۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِىۡ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُۡا بِالۡبَاطِلِ وَكَفَرُوۡا بِاللّٰهِۙ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡخٰسِرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qul kafa billahibaynee wabaynakum shaheedan yaAAlamu ma fee assamawatiwal-ardi wallatheena amanoobilbatili wakafaroo billahi ola-ikahumu alkhasiroon
قُلۡ
qul
Say
کہہ دیجیے
كَفٰى
kafā
Sufficient is
کافی ہے
بِاللّٰهِ
bil-lahi
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
بَيۡنِىۡ
baynī
between me
میرے درمیان
وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ
wabaynakum
and between you
اور تمہارے درمیان
شَهِيۡدًا ۚ
shahīdan
(as) a Witness
گواہ
يَعۡلَمُ
yaʿlamu
He knows
وہ جانتا ہے
مَا
mā
what
جو
فِى
fī
(is) in
میں ہے
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
آسمانوں
وَالۡاَرۡضِ ؕ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
اور زمین میں
وَالَّذِيۡنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
اور وہ لوگ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
بِالۡبَاطِلِ
bil-bāṭili
in [the] falsehood
باطل کے ساتھ
وَكَفَرُوۡا
wakafarū
and disbelieve
اور انہوں نے کفر کیا
بِاللّٰهِ ۙ
bil-lahi
in Allah
اللہ کا
اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ
ulāika
those,
یہی لوگ
هُمُ
humu
they
وہ ہیں
الۡخٰسِرُوۡنَ
l-khāsirūna
(are) the losers
نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں
Urdu —
آپ فرما دیجئے: میرے اور تمہارے درمیان اﷲ ہی گواہ کافی ہے۔ وہ جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے (سب کا حال) جانتا ہے، اور جو لوگ باطل پر ایمان لائے اور اﷲ کا انکار کیا وہی نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں
— English
Say, "Sufficient is Allah between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth. And they who have believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allah - it is those who are the losers."
وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَكَ بِالۡعَذَابِؕ وَلَوۡلَاۤ اَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَّجَآءَهُمُ الۡعَذَابُؕ وَلَيَاۡتِيَنَّهُمۡ بَغۡتَةً وَّهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
WayastaAAjiloonaka bilAAathabiwalawla ajalun musamman lajaahumu alAAathabuwalaya/tiyannahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroon
وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَكَ
wayastaʿjilūnaka
And they ask you to hasten
اور وہ جلدی مانگتے ہیں تجھ سے
بِالۡعَذَابِؕ
bil-ʿadhābi
[with] the punishment
عذاب کو
وَلَوۡلَاۤ
walawlā
And if not
اور اگر نہ ہوتی
اَجَلٌ
ajalun
(for) a term
ایک میعاد
مُّسَمًّى
musamman
appointed
مقرر
لَّجَآءَهُمُ
lajāahumu
surely (would) have come to them
البتہ آجاتا ان کے پاس
الۡعَذَابُؕ
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
عذاب
وَلَيَاۡتِيَنَّهُمۡ
walayatiyannahum
But it will surely come to them
اور البتہ وہ ضرور آئے گا ان کے پاس
بَغۡتَةً
baghtatan
suddenly
اچانک
وَّهُمۡ
wahum
while they
اور وہ
لَا
lā
(do) not
نہ
يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ
yashʿurūna
perceive
شعوررکھتے ہوں گے
Urdu —
اور یہ لوگ آپ سے عذاب میں جلدی چاہتے ہیں، اور اگر (عذاب کا) وقت مقرر نہ ہوتا تو ان پر عذاب آچکا ہوتا، اور وہ (عذاب یا وقتِ عذاب) ضرور انہیں اچانک آپہنچے گا اور انہیں خبر بھی نہ ہوگی
— English
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not.
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَكَ بِالۡعَذَابِؕ وَاِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيۡطَةٌ ۢ بِالۡكٰفِرِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
YastaAAjiloonaka bilAAathabiwa-inna jahannama lamuheetatun bilkafireen
يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَكَ
yastaʿjilūnaka
They ask you to hasten
وہ جلدی مانگتے ہیں تجھ سے
بِالۡعَذَابِؕ
bil-ʿadhābi
the punishment
عذاب
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell,
جہنم
لَمُحِيۡطَةٌ ۢ
lamuḥīṭatun
will surely, encompass
البتہ گھیرنے والی ہے
بِالۡكٰفِرِيۡنَۙ
bil-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
کافروں کو
Urdu —
یہ لوگ آپ سے عذاب جلد طلب کرتے ہیں، اور بیشک دوزخ کافروں کو گھیر لینے والی ہے
— English
They urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers
يَوۡمَ يَغۡشٰٮهُمُ الۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَمِنۡ تَحۡتِ اَرۡجُلِهِمۡ وَيَقُوۡلُ ذُوۡقُوۡا مَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabumin fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqooma kuntum taAAmaloon
يَوۡمَ
yawma
On (the) Day
جس دن
يَغۡشٰٮهُمُ
yaghshāhumu
will cover them
ڈھانپ لے گا ان کو
الۡعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
عذاب
مِنۡ
min
from
سے
فَوۡقِهِمۡ
fawqihim
above them
ان کے اوپر
وَمِنۡ
wamin
and from
اور سے
تَحۡتِ
taḥti
below
نیچے
اَرۡجُلِهِمۡ
arjulihim
their feet
ان کے پاؤں کے
وَيَقُوۡلُ
wayaqūlu
and He will say
اور وہ کہے گا
ذُوۡقُوۡا
dhūqū
Taste
چکھو
مَا
mā
what
جو
كُنۡتُمۡ
kuntum
you used
تھے تم
تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
taʿmalūna
(to) do
تم عمل کرتے
Urdu —
جس دن عذاب انہیں ان کے اوپر سے اور ان کے پاؤں کے نیچے سے ڈھانپ لے گا تو ارشاد ہوگا: تم ان کاموں کا مزہ چکھو جو تم کرتے تھے
— English
On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do."
يٰعِبَادِىَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنَّ اَرۡضِىۡ وَاسِعَةٌ فَاِيّٰاىَ فَاعۡبُدُوۡنِ
— Transliteration
Ya AAibadiya allatheenaamanoo inna ardee wasiAAatun fa-iyyayafaAAbudoon
يٰعِبَادِىَ
yāʿibādiya
O My servants
اے میرے بندو وہ جو
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
who
ایمان لائے ہو
اٰمَنُوۡۤا
āmanū
believe
بیشک
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
میری زمین
اَرۡضِىۡ
arḍī
My earth
وسیع ہے
وَاسِعَةٌ
wāsiʿatun
(is) spacious
پس صرف میری ہی
فَاِيَّاىَ
fa-iyyāya
so only
پس تم عبادت کرو میری
فَاعۡبُدُوۡنِ
fa-uʿ'budūni
worship Me
Urdu —
اے میرے بندو! جو ایمان لے آئے ہو بیشک میری زمین کشادہ ہے سو تم میری ہی عبادت کرو
— English
O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me.
كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ ذَآٮِٕقَةُ الۡمَوۡتِ ثُمَّ اِلَيۡنَا تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Kullu nafsin tha-iqatu almawti thummailayna turjaAAoon
كُلُّ
kullu
Every
ہر
نَفۡسٍ
nafsin
soul
نفس
ذَآٮِٕقَةُ
dhāiqatu
(will) taste
چکھنے والا ہے
الۡمَوۡتِ
l-mawti
the death
موت کو
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
پھر
اِلَيۡنَا
ilaynā
to Us
ہماری طرف
تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
تم سب لوٹائے جاؤ گے
Urdu —
ہر جان موت کا مزہ چکھنے والی ہے، پھر تم ہماری ہی طرف لوٹائے جاؤ گے
— English
Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.
وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ مِّنَ الۡجَـنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُ خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاؕ نِعۡمَ اَجۡرُ الۡعٰمِلِيۡنَۖ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lanubawwi-annahummina aljannati ghurafan tajree min tahtiha al-anharukhalideena feeha niAAma ajru alAAamileen
وَالَّذِيۡنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
اور وہ لوگ
اٰمَنُوا
āmanū
believe
جو ایمان لائے
وَعَمِلُوۡا
waʿamilū
and do
اور انہوں نے عمل کیے
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
[the] righteous deeds
اچھے
لَـنُبَـوِّئَنَّهُمۡ
lanubawwi-annahum
surely We will give them a place
البتہ ہم ضرور ٹھکانہ دیں گے ان کو
مِّنَ
mina
in
میں سے
الۡجَـنَّةِ
l-janati
Paradise
جنت
غُرَفًا
ghurafan
lofty dwellings
بالاخانوں کے
تَجۡرِىۡ
tajrī
flow
بہتی ہوں گی
مِنۡ
min
from
سے
تَحۡتِهَا
taḥtihā
underneath it
ان کے نیچے
الۡاَنۡهٰرُ
l-anhāru
the rivers
نہریں
خٰلِدِيۡنَ
khālidīna
will abide forever
ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں
فِيۡهَا ؕ
fīhā
in it.
ان میں
نِعۡمَ
niʿ'ma
Excellent is
کتنا اچھا ہے
اَجۡرُ
ajru
(the) reward
اجر
الۡعٰمِلِيۡنَۖ
l-ʿāmilīna
(of) the workers
ان عمل کرنے والوں کا
Urdu —
اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک اعمال کرتے رہے ہم انہیں ضرور جنت کے بالائی محلّات میں جگہ دیں گے جن کے نیچے سے نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے، یہ عملِ (صالح) کرنے والوں کا کیا ہی اچھا اجر ہے
— English
And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers
الَّذِيۡنَ صَبَرُوۡا وَعَلٰى رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Allatheena sabaroo waAAalarabbihim yatawakkaloon
الَّذِيۡنَ
alladhīna
Those who
وہ لوگ
صَبَرُوۡا
ṣabarū
(are) patient
جو صبر کرتے ہیں
وَعَلٰى
waʿalā
and upon
اورپر
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
their Lord
اپنے رب
يَتَوَكَّلُوۡنَ
yatawakkalūna
put their trust
بھروسہ کرتے ہیں۔ توکل کرتے ہیں
Urdu —
(یہ وہ لوگ ہیں) جنہوں نے صبر کیا اور اپنے رب پر ہی توکّل کرتے رہے
— English
Who have been patient and upon their Lord rely.
وَكَاَيِّنۡ مِّنۡ دَآبَّةٍ لَّا تَحۡمِلُ رِزۡقَهَا ۖ اللّٰهُ يَرۡزُقُهَا وَاِيَّاكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيۡعُ الۡعَلِيۡمُ
— Transliteration
Wakaayyin min dabbatin la tahmilurizqaha Allahu yarzuquha wa-iyyakumwahuwa assameeAAu alAAaleem
وَكَاَيِّنۡ
waka-ayyin
And how many
اور کتنے ہی
مِّنۡ
min
of
میں سے
دَآبَّةٍ
dābbatin
a creature
جانوروں
لَّا
lā
(does) not
نہیں
تَحۡمِلُ
taḥmilu
carry
اٹھائے ہوئے
رِزۡقَهَا ۖ
riz'qahā
its provision
اپنا رزق
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
يَرۡزُقُهَا
yarzuquhā
provides (for) it
رزق دیتا ہے ان کو
وَاِيَّاكُمۡۖ
wa-iyyākum
and (for) you.
اور تم کو بھی
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
اور وہ
السَّمِيۡعُ
l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
سننے والا ہے،
الۡعَلِيۡمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
جاننے والا ہے
Urdu —
اور کتنے ہی جانور ہیں جو اپنی روزی (اپنے ساتھ) نہیں اٹھائے پھرتے، اﷲ انہیں بھی رزق عطا کرتا ہے اور تمہیں بھی، اور وہ خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے
— English
And how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
وَلَٮِٕنۡ سَاَلۡتَهُمۡ مَّنۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمۡسَ وَالۡقَمَرَ لَيَقُوۡلُنَّ اللّٰهُۚ فَاَنّٰى يُؤۡفَكُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wala-in saaltahum man khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda wasakhkhara ashshamsa walqamaralayaqoolunna Allahu faanna yu/fakoon
وَلَٮِٕنۡ
wala-in
And if
اور البتہ اگر
سَاَلۡتَهُمۡ
sa-altahum
you ask them
پوچھو تم ان سے۔ سوال کرو تم ان سے
مَّنۡ
man
`Who
کس نے
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
پیدا کیا
السَّمٰوٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
آسمانوں کو
وَالۡاَرۡضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
اور زمین کو
وَسَخَّرَ
wasakhara
and subjected
اور مسخر کیا
الشَّمۡسَ
l-shamsa
the sun
سورج کو
وَالۡقَمَرَ
wal-qamara
and the moon
اور چاند کو
لَيَقُوۡلُنَّ
layaqūlunna
Surely they would say
البتہ وہ ضرور کہیں گے
اللّٰهُۚ
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ نے
فَاَنّٰى
fa-annā
Then how
تو کہاں سے
يُؤۡفَكُوۡنَ
yu'fakūna
are they deluded
وہ پھیرے جاتے ہیں
Urdu —
اور اگر آپ اِن (کفّار) سے پوچھیں کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کو کس نے پیدا کیا اور سورج اور چاند کو کس نے تابع فرمان بنا دیا، تو وہ ضرور کہہ دیں گے: اﷲ نے، پھر وہ کدھر الٹے جا رہے ہیں
— English
If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded?
اللّٰهُ يَبۡسُطُ الرِّزۡقَ لِمَنۡ يَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهٖ وَيَقۡدِرُ لَهٗ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Allahu yabsutu arrizqaliman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu inna Allahabikulli shay-in AAaleem
اَللّٰهُ
al-lahu
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
يَبۡسُطُ
yabsuṭu
extends
پھیلا دیتا ہے
الرِّزۡقَ
l-riz'qa
the provision
رزق کو
لِمَنۡ
liman
for whom
جس کے لیے
يَّشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
چاہتا ہے
مِنۡ
min
of
میں سے
عِبَادِهٖ
ʿibādihi
His slaves
اپنے بندوں
وَيَقۡدِرُ
wayaqdiru
and restricts
اور تنگ کردیتا ہے
لَهٗ ؕ
lahu
for him.
اس کے لیے
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
of every
ہر
شَىۡءٍ
shayin
thing
چیز کو
عَلِيۡمٌ
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
جاننے والا ہے
Urdu —
اﷲ اپنے بندوں میں سے جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے رزق کشادہ فرما دیتا ہے، اور جس کے لئے (چاہتا ہے) تنگ کر دیتا ہے، بیشک اﷲ ہر چیز کو خوب جاننے والا ہے
— English
Allah extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing.
وَلَٮِٕنۡ سَاَلۡتَهُمۡ مَّنۡ نَّزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَحۡيَا بِهِ الۡاَرۡضَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَوۡتِهَا لَيَقُوۡلُنَّ اللّٰهُؕ قُلِ الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِؕ بَلۡ اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wala-in saaltahum man nazzala mina assama-imaan faahya bihi al-arda min baAAdimawtiha layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdulillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAqiloon
وَلَٮِٕنۡ
wala-in
And if
اور البتہ اگر
سَاَلۡتَهُمۡ
sa-altahum
you ask them
پوچھو تم ان سے
مَّنۡ
man
`Who
کس نے
نَّزَّلَ
nazzala
sends down
نازل کیا
مِنَ
mina
from
سے
السَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
آسمان
مَآءً
māan
water
پانی
فَاَحۡيَا
fa-aḥyā
and gives life
پھر زندہ کیا
بِهِ
bihi
thereby
ساتھ اس کے
الۡاَرۡضَ
l-arḍa
(to) the earth
زمین کو
مِنۡۢ
min
**after
بَعۡدِ
baʿdi
after
بعد
مَوۡتِهَا
mawtihā
its death
اس کی موت کے
لَيَقُوۡلُنَّ
layaqūlunna
Surely, they would say
البتہ وہ ضرور کہیں گے
اللّٰهُؕ
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ نے
قُلِ
quli
Say
کہہ دیجیے
الۡحَمۡدُ
l-ḥamdu
All Praises
سب تعریف
لِلّٰهِؕ
lillahi
(are) for Allah
اللہ کے لیے ہے
بَلۡ
bal
But
بلکہ
اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
aktharuhum
most of them
اکثر ان میں سے
لَا
lā
(do) not
نہیں
يَعۡقِلُوۡنَ
yaʿqilūna
use reason
عقل رکھتے
Urdu —
اور اگر آپ ان سے پوچھیں کہ آسمان سے پانی کس نے اتارا پھر اس سے زمین کو اس کی مُردنی کے بعد حیات (اور تازگی) بخشی، تو وہ ضرور کہہ دیں گے: اﷲ نے، آپ فرما دیں: ساری تعریفیں اﷲ ہی کے لئے ہیں، بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر (لوگ) عقل نہیں رکھتے
— English
And if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say " Allah." Say, "Praise to Allah "; but most of them do not reason.
وَمَا هٰذِهِ الۡحَيٰوةُ الدُّنۡيَاۤ اِلَّا لَهۡوٌ وَّلَعِبٌؕ وَاِنَّ الدَّارَ الۡاٰخِرَةَ لَهِىَ الۡحَـيَوَانُۘ لَوۡ كَانُوۡا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wama hathihi alhayatuaddunya illa lahwun walaAAibun wa-inna addaraal-akhirata lahiya alhayawanu law kanooyaAAlamoon
وَمَا
wamā
And not
اور نہیں
هٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(is) this
یہ
الۡحَيٰوةُ
l-ḥayatu
life
زندگی
الدُّنۡيَاۤ
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
دنیا کی
اِلَّا
illā
but
مگر
لَهۡوٌ
lahwun
amusement
دل کا بہلاوا
وَّلَعِبٌؕ
walaʿibun
and play
اور کھیل
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
الدَّارَ
l-dāra
the Home
گھر
الۡاٰخِرَةَ
l-ākhirata
(of) the Hereafter
آخرت کا
لَهِىَ
lahiya
surely, it
البتہ وہی ہے
الۡحَـيَوَانُۘ
l-ḥayawānu
(is) the life
زندگی۔ زندہ رہنے کی جگہ
لَوۡ
law
if only
کاش ہوتے
كَانُوۡا
kānū
they
وہ
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
yaʿlamūna
know
علم رکھتے
Urdu —
اور (اے لوگو!) یہ دنیا کی زندگی کھیل اور تماشے کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے، اور حقیقت میں آخرت کا گھر ہی (صحیح) زندگی ہے۔ کاش! وہ لوگ (یہ راز) جانتے ہوتے
— English
And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.
فَاِذَا رَكِبُوۡا فِىۡ الۡفُلۡكِ دَعَوُا اللّٰهَ مُخۡلِصِيۡنَ لَـهُ الدِّيۡنَۚ فَلَمَّا نَجّٰٮهُمۡ اِلَى الۡبَرِّ اِذَا هُمۡ يُشۡرِكُوۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Fa-itha rakiboo fee alfulki daAAawooAllaha mukhliseena lahu addeena falammanajjahum ila albarri itha hum yushrikoon
فَاِذَا
fa-idhā
And when
پھر جب
رَكِبُوۡا
rakibū
they embark
وہ سوار ہوتے ہیں
فِى
fī
[in]
میں
الۡفُلۡكِ
l-ful'ki
the ship
کشتی
دَعَوُا
daʿawū
they call
پکارتے ہیں
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ کو
مُخۡلِصِيۡنَ
mukh'liṣīna
(being) sincere
خالص کرنے والے
لَـهُ
lahu
to Him
اس کے لیے
الدِّيۡنَ ۚ
l-dīna
(in) the religion
دین کو
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
تو جب
نَجّٰٮهُمۡ
najjāhum
He delivers them
وہ نجات دیتا ہے ان کو
اِلَى
ilā
to
طرف
الۡبَـرِّ
l-bari
the land
خشکی کے
اِذَا
idhā
behold,
اچانک
هُمۡ
hum
they
وہ
يُشۡرِكُوۡنَۙ
yush'rikūna
associate partners (with Him)
شرک کرنے لگتے ہیں
Urdu —
پھر جب وہ کشتی میں سوار ہوتے ہیں تو (مشکل وقت میں بتوں کو چھوڑ کر) صرف اﷲ کو اس کے لئے (اپنا) دین خالص کرتے ہوئے پکارتے ہیں، پھر جب اﷲ انہیں بچا کر خشکی تک پہنچا دیتا ہے تو اس وقت وہ (دوبارہ) شرک کرنے لگتے ہیں
— English
And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him
لِيَكۡفُرُوۡا بِمَاۤ اٰتَيۡنٰهُمۡ ۙۚ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوۡا فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Liyakfuroo bima ataynahumwaliyatamattaAAoo fasawfa yaAAlamoon
لِيَكۡفُرُوۡا
liyakfurū
So that they may deny
تاکہ وہ ناشکری کریں
بِمَاۤ
bimā
[in] what
اس چیز کی
اٰتَيۡنٰهُمۡ ۙۚ
ātaynāhum
We have given them
جو دی ہم نے ان کو
وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوۡا
waliyatamattaʿū
and they may enjoy (themselves)
اور تاکہ وہ فائدہ اٹھائیں
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
But soon
پس عنقریب
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
yaʿlamūna
they will know
وہ جان لیں گے
Urdu —
تاکہ اس (نعمتِ نجات) کی ناشکری کریں جو ہم نے انہیں عطا کی اور (کفر کی زندگی کے حرام) فائدے اٹھاتے رہیں۔ پس وہ عنقریب (اپنا انجام) جان لیں گے
— English
So that they will deny what We have granted them, and they will enjoy themselves. But they are going to know.
اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا اَنَّا جَعَلۡنَا حَرَمًا اٰمِنًا وَّيُتَخَطَّفُ النَّاسُ مِنۡ حَوۡلِهِمۡؕ اَفَبِالۡبَاطِلِ يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ وَبِنِعۡمَةِ اللّٰهِ يَكۡفُرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Awa lam yaraw anna jaAAalna haramanaminan wayutakhattafu annasu min hawlihimafabilbatili yu/minoona wabiniAAmati Allahiyakfuroon
اَوَلَمۡ
awalam
Do not
کیا بھلا نہیں
يَرَوۡا
yaraw
they see
انہوں نے دیکھا
اَنَّا
annā
that We
بیشک ہم نے
جَعَلۡنَا
jaʿalnā
have made
بنایا
حَرَمًا
ḥaraman
a Sanctuary
حرم کو
اٰمِنًا
āminan
secure
امن والا
وَّيُتَخَطَّفُ
wayutakhaṭṭafu
while are being taken away
اور اچک لیے جاتے ہیں
النَّاسُ
l-nāsu
the people
لوگ
مِنۡ
min
**around them?
سے
حَوۡلِهِمۡ ؕ
ḥawlihim
around them
ان کے آس پاس
اَفَبِالۡبَاطِلِ
afabil-bāṭili
Then do in (the) falsehood
کیا بھلا ساتھ باطل کے
يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ
yu'minūna
they believe
وہ ایمان لائیں گے۔ وہ ایمان لاتے ہیں
وَبِنِعۡمَةِ
wabiniʿ'mati
and in (the) Favor
اور نعمت کا
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
اللہ کی
يَكۡفُرُوۡنَ
yakfurūna
they disbelieve
انکار کرتے ہیں
Urdu —
اور کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ ہم نے حرمِ (کعبہ) کو جائے امان بنا دیا ہے اور اِن کے اِردگرِد کے لوگ اُچک لئے جاتے ہیں، تو کیا (پھر بھی) وہ باطل پر ایمان رکھتے اور اﷲ کے احسان کی ناشکری کرتے رہیں گے
— English
Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?
وَمَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ افۡتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا اَوۡ كَذَّبَ بِالۡحَـقِّ لَـمَّا جَآءَهٗؕ اَلَيۡسَ فِىۡ جَهَـنَّمَ مَثۡوًى لِّلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Waman athlamu mimmani iftaraAAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba bilhaqqilamma jaahu alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilkafireen
وَمَنۡ
waman
And who
اور کون
اَظۡلَمُ
aẓlamu
(is) more unjust
بڑا ظالم ہے
مِمَّنِ
mimmani
than (he) who
اس سے
افۡتَرٰى
if'tarā
invents
جو گھڑ لے
عَلَى
ʿalā
against
پر
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
اللہ
كَذِبًا
kadhiban
a lie
کوئی جھوٹ
اَوۡ
aw
or
یا
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denies
جھٹلائے
بِالۡحَـقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
the truth
حق کو
لَـمَّا
lammā
when
جبکہ
جَآءَهٗؕ
jāahu
it has come to him
وہ آجائے اس کے پاس
اَلَيۡسَ
alaysa
Is there not
کیا نہیں ہے
فِىۡ
fī
in
میں
جَهَـنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
جہنم
مَثۡوًى
mathwan
an abode
ٹھکانہ
لِّلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ
lil'kāfirīna
for the disbelievers
کافروں کے لیے
Urdu —
اور اس شخص سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون ہو سکتا ہے جو اﷲ پر جھوٹا بہتان باندھے یا حق کو جھٹلا دے جب وہ اس کے پاس آپہنچے۔ کیا دوزخ میں کافروں کے لئے ٹھکانہ (مقرر) نہیں ہے
— English
And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers?
وَالَّذِيۡنَ جَاهَدُوۡا فِيۡنَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا ؕ وَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَمَعَ الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena jahadoofeena lanahdiyannahum subulana wa-inna AllahalamaAAa almuhsineen
وَالَّذِيۡنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
اور وہ لوگ
جَاهَدُوۡا
jāhadū
strive
جو جدوجہد کریں
فِيۡنَا
fīnā
for Us,
ہماری راہ
لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ
lanahdiyannahum
We will surely, guide them
البتہ ہم ضرور رہنمائی کریں گے ان کی
سُبُلَنَا ؕ
subulanā
(to) Our ways
اپنے راستوں کی (طرف)
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
اور بیشک
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
لَمَعَ
lamaʿa
surely (is) with
البتہ ساتھ ہے
الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ
l-muḥ'sinīna
the good-doers
احسان کرنے والوں کے
Urdu —
اور جو لوگ ہمارے حق میں جہاد (اور مجاہدہ) کرتے ہیں تو ہم یقیناً انہیں اپنی (طرف سَیر اور وصول کی) راہیں دکھا دیتے ہیں، اور بیشک اﷲ صاحبانِ احسان کو اپنی معیّت سے نوازتا ہے
— English
And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.
